Review

The last book in Hyatt’s Marconi Siblings stories…

Prince Adam Marconi is on the hunt for a wife. He knows the exact traits his perfect princess will have, and he’s even got a list. When childhood friend Danni St. Claire suddenly points out the flaws in his plan, he does the only thing he can think of—enlists her help.

Danni has loved Adam for as long as she can remember. She knows nothing can happen between them, so agreeing to help Adam secure a wife doesn’t sound like a bad idea. Little does she know that Adam desires her just as much as she desires him. When a whirlwind affair comes to an end she knows it’s time to let go, but the question is will Adam let her?

The two characters had a ton of sexual chemistry, but at the same time the pair seems mismatched in the love category. Danni is definitely a different kind of girl compared to the classy and sophisticated women that Adam usually surrounds himself with.  She’s wild and free, while Adam is reserved and studious. The opposites attract trope is usually something I enjoy, but with this pair I couldn’t get into it. I had difficulty believing that Adam was feeling more than lust for Danni; especially when Adam’s attraction to her seems more spontaneous and linked with Danni’s reappearance in his life. Versus Danni who’s been running from her attraction to Adam for years. The conflicts that arose between the two were minimal, and neither character had to jump any major hurdles to resolve them.

The backdrop and setting were spot on and well-developed. Hyatt also crafts a wonderful secondary character in the Australian Blake, who helps our two mismatched lovers come together. Overall a quick paced love story that doesn’t bring about a ton of emotional attachment to the characters.
