Review
Lena wears her good girl image with pride. After a painful mistake, she tries not to be labeled anything but good. She has built a career as a publicist for a New Zealand rugby sports team and she has gained the respect of all the players in this male-dominated career. All is well in her life until her reputation is put into danger by the appearance of the sexy and charismatic Seth Walker. He tempts her and, try as she might, she cannot resist him; and her bad girl ways resurface.
Seth needs to get the team’s publicist’s permission to allow the youth whom he coaches to be mentored by his fellow team members. After a hot and steamy kiss with Lena, Seth realizes that he just had some hot lip action with the very publicist he is seeking. He hides his motives for seeking her out and seduces Lena into a steamy affair. When the truth is revealed, Lena is a feels scorned and resentful. She fights her attraction to Seth while battling demons of her past relationships and what she conceives as bad girl behavior.
The conflict in this story is poorly developed. Both Lena and Seth have experienced events that make them guarded but they lack the maturity necessary for them to let go of the past and move on with their lives. Their constant bickering which is caused by nothing else but lack of communication becomes grating after a while and I viewed them as nothing more than page fillers.
I wanted to give this more stars but the story is character driven and lacks a real plot. I wanted more emotions to be entwined in the story. Overall, this is a fast story that will keep readers entertained but not a book that will stay in their hearts and minds.
