Review
The second book in the Animal Magnetism trilogy, Animal Attraction is full of emotion, humor, and lots of heat!
In the first book of the series, Animal Magnetism, there were glimpses of the attraction between Dell Connelly and his feisty secretary, Jade Bennett. In Animal Attraction we get to see what happens when these two, who have been circling each other for eighteen months, finally come together.
Dell Connelly doesn’t let people in. There are three people in his life he would say he loved – his brothers, Brody and Adam, and his best friend, Lilah. Dell doesn’t want to let anyone else in, but he can’t help but be intrigued by his veterinary clinics secretary, Jade. She dresses like a runway model, but doesn’t care if she ends the day covered in cat and dog hair. She lives her entire life on spreadsheets and doesn’t let anyone in either. Dell knows he should stay away from her, but he can’t.
Jade Bennett is leaving Sunshine, Idaho in a month. She knows it isn’t the time to start a romantic entanglement and definitely not with her soon-to-be ex-boss. Dell is a serial dater and Jade doesn’t date at all. A traumatic event in her past sent her running to Sunshine, but now it is time to go back to Chicago.
When these two finally kiss it is electric and the sparks fly every time they are in the same room. The question is what are they doing and will they be able to stop.
I loved this book. Jade and Dell are fantastic characters. There is so much more between them then the chemistry. I love when characters start out as friends. It makes the connection between them so much stronger. Jade and Dell are both struggling to get past events that had taken place in the distant and not-so-distant past. They help each other and both learn things about themselves in the process. Their connection is so strong and right.
The secondary characters add so much to this story. If Adam wasn’t there to goad Dell and encourage Jade, the story would have felt a little off. He is kind of like their own personal relationship Jiminy Cricket helping them see things they might not have seen on their own. I can’t wait until we get Adam’s book.
This is the perfect book for readers that love strong emotional connections, funny dialogue, and a sexy romance all in the same book.
