Olivia Bishop is no fun. That's what her ex-husband said. And that's what her smart bob and glasses imply. So with her trademark determination, Olivia sets out to remake her life. She's going to spend time with her girlfriends and not throw it all away for some man. But when an outing with her book club leads her to a brewery taproom, the dark-haired beauty realizes that trouble—in the form of sexy Jamie Donovan—may be too tempting to avoid.

Jamie Donovan doesn't mean to be bad. Sure, the wild streak in his wicked green eyes has lured the ladies before. Now it's time to grow up. He's even ready for a serious romance. But how can that be when Olivia, the only right woman he has ever met, already has him pegged as wrong?

Review

Olivia Bishop has spent her whole life being the prim and proper good girl. All her adult life, she’s been told she’s boring and no fun. Her clothes say that. Her ex-husband made it abundantly clear. But Olivia is determined to change all that. When a night out with the girls brings the oh-so handsome Jamie Donovan into her life, Olivia’s transformation from boring teacher into naughty woman begins.

Jamie Donovan doesn’t want to have a reputation for a bad boy. It just seems to happen. Maybe it’s the devil-may-care look in his pretty green eyes or his inherent charm. Either way, he’s trying hard to get over his days of sowing his wild oats and grow up. Olivia wants him to show her how to be wild and fun, but can she handle him as the committed type?

I’m new to Dahl and I have to say I love her books. She reminds me of a hybrid of Rachel Gibson and Susan Mallery. I’m a big fan of family trilogies and this one hit the mark spot on. Jamie is a fun hero who is has been cast in the role of the wild-child Donovan. My heart broke for him as he battled with his brother to prove that he could be an equal partner in the family brewery. He’s charming and delicious and surprisingly unique.

Olivia isn’t quite as unique as Jamie, but still fun and likeable. It’s easy to sympathize with her and her need to step out of her bubble. And it’s even easier to be jealous of the fun she gets to have with Jamie.

I am officially a Dahl convert and I plan to read the other two books in this series as soon as I get the chance. Fun, sexy contemporaries like this need to come out as often as possible.
