Wedding bells are ringing in Fool's Gold, but not for Nevada Hendrix. Her triplet sisters are engaged, and even her mother has a more active love life than she does. Determined to make a fresh start, she applies for her dream job, only to discover that her new boss is her first love. Maybe she could overlook the fact that they've seen each other naked, but she'll never forget the way he broke her heart.

Tucker Janack agrees to Nevada's "business only" ground rules. After all, love is a trap that the construction millionaire has avoided his whole life. But when great business partners turn out to be so much more, every rule gets broken. Will either of them be willing to try again…or will their past get in the way?

Review

Nevada Hendrix is the only triplet not getting married.  To make matters worse, her sisters are planning a double wedding that has all of her friends worried about how she is handling it.  For Nevada, it may be difficult to be the only triplet not getting married, but she has more pressing matters on her hands.  Nevada, who applied for her dream job, arrives at the interview to discover she slept with her potential boss and the memory is not a good one.  Forced to choose between her dream job and putting the past behind her, Nevada aims to forget the past.  But how can a girl forget the past when it’s right in front of her and so very hot!

Tucker Janack wants Nevada in every way possible, but he can’t lose her as an employee.  She’s the best in the industry and she’s a local in Fool’s Gold, which always helps developers.  Nevada and Tucker try to keep their relationship “business only” but the sparks are flying and the heat is too strong to resist.  Maybe Nevada could have her wedding--  If Tucker would rid himself of his crazy philosophy about love.

Only His quickly became my favorite of the series.  While I have enjoyed each and every one of Mallery’s Fool’s Gold titles, Only His was different.  I loved the twist that appeared in the middle of the story.  I was not expecting certain elements that presented themselves.  This book made me laugh out loud on many occasions.  If you only read the book for one reason I would have to say the laughs you’ll get should be it!  I really connected with the characters who find love in this story.  Aside from Nevada and Tucker there are two secondary relationships that blooms in this book.  I enjoyed this element, it gave the book depth and helped to carry the story.

Since the series is known as “The Land of Happy Endings” its pretty much a given that this book will end happily.  That doesn’t mean it doesn’t have it’s surprises.  While I never felt Nevada wouldn’t get her happy ending, I was thrown by some of the elements and storylines that took place before she finds it.  I enjoyed being surprised, a few times in very funny ways.

While most of the characters were enjoyable, I found Nevada’s mother to be slightly annoying in this book.  Though she wasn’t in it often, she appeared controlling to me when she was around.  There is an excerpt in the book where she gives information to Nevada’s brother solely because she knows what he will do with it.  This bothered me since the information was given in confidence and I felt her actions betrayed that confidence.  While not a deal breaker, some of the scenes with certain characters annoyed me a little, making this romance a four star instead of a 5.
