With all other guys guaranteed to be totally meh, she's in last-chance saloon: it's either an X-rated fling with her ex, or straight to chastitybelts.com!
The S Before EX is a sweet romance about second chances at first love.
Claire Brady is ready to look toward the future and take the most significant step in that direction…filing for divorce. Claire and Ryan haven’t been living as a married couple for the last six years. Once upon a time they had thought they were soul mates until a tragedy tore them apart. Unable to reconnect they lived on opposite sides of the county. Claire was ready to be legally single again and files for divorce and then flies to Rome in order to avoid a confrontation.
Ryan isn’t willing to let the divorce go through uncontested and follows Claire to Rome. In an effort to not stop the divorce, but to make sure that Claire gets what she deserves in a settlement. She helped him at the beginning of his career and he believes that everything he has accomplished is, at least in part, thanks to her.
These two are circling around each other from the very beginning. There is obviously still an attraction between Claire and Ryan. The question is can they get past the past and move on towards a future together.
I really enjoyed this book. Claire and Ryan are great characters. They are both still living with the tragedy in their past and neither one has really moves forward. I think it is indicative of the relationship they had shared that they had remained married even though they lived apart and weren’t a part of each other’s lives. Claire and Ryan just weren’t ready to let the “what might have been” go yet.
The writing is fantastic and the sex scenes electric. There is a lot of emotion in this story as Claire and Ryan work out their differences and finally talk about what happened between them. There were points that had me almost in tears.
This is the perfect story for readers who like contemporary romance with emotion and heart.
