Review

What more can a book need than an unexpected pregnancy and a hero with amnesia? If the book is Enticed By His Forgotten Lover by Maya Banks, the answer is nothing!

Bryony Morgan is shocked to find herself pregnant and even more shocked to find that the father of her child, a man she desperately loves, doesn’t remember her at all. Bryony is a great character. She doesn’t take Rafe’s desertion lying down. She hunts him down and demands to know why he didn’t come back to her.

Rafael De Luca is a business man and always puts business first. His friends jokingly call him a bastard, but it is closer to the truth than he likes. After a plane crash, Rafe cannot remember a small stretch of time and hates that he cannot. When confronted by the beautiful and obviously pregnant Bryony, Rafe doesn’t know what or who to believe. He does know he is drawn to the Texas beauty and sets out to find out exactly what happened between them.

I really enjoyed this couple and although their relationship is full of ups and downs I was rooting for their happily ever after from the very beginning.

Bryony is a fighter – she fights for herself, her baby, and Rafe. Even when she isn’t sure if Rafe is really the man he seemed when they were together the first time, she still believes that he is the man for her. She doesn’t want to give up the love she felt between them and will do anything to get it back.

Rafe finds himself changing throughout the story and learning that maybe who he has been in the past isn’t who he wants to be in the future. Several times there is a phrase brought up during the story and I think that it best summarizes this book and I love this scene in the end when Rafe says it in his “big moment”:

“She’s told me on multiple occasions that I don’t have to always stay the person I was, that I can change and be whoever I want to be. She’s right. I don’t want to be the person I was any longer. I want to be someone I can be proud of, someone she can be proud of. I want to be the man Bryony Morgan loves.”
Enticed By His Forgotten Lover is a wonderful story of second chances and learning who one really wants to be. I loved every minute of it and can’t wait to read the stories featuring Rafe’s three friends as they fall in love.
