Seven years ago, on the eve of her wedding, Lady Jessica Sheffield witnessed Alistair Caulfield in a scandalous scene no innocent young miss could imagine. Shocked, yet strangely titillated, she'd held her silence. But through years of serene, unremarkable marriage, Caulfield's image remained burned into her imagination, fuelling illicit dreams...

As a successful merchant, Alistair has little in common with the rakehell youth she knew. But when newly widowed Jessica steps aboard his ship for a transatlantic passage, seven years' worth of denied pleasures are held in check by nothing more than a few layers of silk - and the certainty that surrender will consume them both...

Some pleasures are worth waiting for…

Seven years ago, on the eve of her wedding, Lady Jessica Sheffield witnessed an illicit scene that no innocent lady should see.  Shocked, yet highly aroused, Jessica keeps silent about the scandalous scene she witnessed and marries.  When her husband dies seven years later, Jessica is left alone with her memories of that intriguing night, fueling a desire within her that is impossible to ignore.  Feeling the need to flee London, Jessica boards a ship to Calypso, never expecting to see Alistair Caulfield on board.

Alistair Caulfield has always wanted Lady Jessica.  In effort to avoid his deep temptation for her, Alistair has stayed away from London since her wedding and focusing instead on his shipping enterprise.  In the years since Jessica’s marriage, Alistair’s desires have only strengthened.  Now, with her husband gone and the help of fate on his side, Alistair has Jessica right where he wants her.  It can only get better from here as desire and opportunity present themselves in the best of ways.

I absolutely loved this romance!  Sylvia Day combines passion, erotic romance and story in a perfect blend.  I have never felt so drawn to a group of characters within the mere pages of the prologue.  I mourned the loss of Jessica’s husband yet ached to read about Jessica and Alistair.  Mixed between the pages of their liaison and Jessica’s story, Day weaves a beautiful story between Jessica’s sister Hester and Jessica’s brother –in-law, Michael.  I enjoyed switching back and forth between Jessica’s adventure on the high sea and Hester’s life in London.

I have never been so conflicted within a book.  I didn’t know what I wanted to happen and couldn’t guess where the story would end up going.  I battled with Jessica and Alastair’s relationship.  Is it love or a fling?  Do I want them together or would it be better to leave this man candy available for the taking of others?  In contrast, I wanted Hester and Michael to end up together, though how they would rid her of her horrible husband was a mystery to me.

Needless to say, I was glued to the pages of Seven Years to Sin.  Mixed with explicit love scenes, charming story and the drama of life, Sylvia captured me and left me in awe.  Hands down, you have to read this book!  If I haven’t convinced you yet, maybe I can tempt you…

“In the aftermath of an orgasm so powerful it weakened his knees, Alastair held Jessica tightly to his chest, consumed by the need to reduce her to the same base state she’d stripped him to.  His skin felt to small and stretched too thin.  Sweat soaked the roots of his hair and slid down his nape.  His mouth was dry from hoarse mutterings.

He’d never imagined anything could feel so good.  She’d sucked his aching cock as if starved for the taste of him, moaning and clutching him as if she would die if he denied her.  As if he could.  He doubted even the sinking of the ship could have pulled him away.

Jess’s hands dug into his hair, her lush body writhing against his torso.  Alistair seated her on the edge of the mattress and pulled her chemise up over her head.  He tossed it aside, his attention focused on the full breast that heaved with her every ragged breath.  He cupped their lush weight in his hands, his thumbs stroking over the hard, peaked nipples.  She leaned back, her weight propped on her canted arms.  Her lovely face was flushed, her gray eyes so dark they were nearly black.  Her rich golden hair fell around her shoulders in total disarray.  She looked glassy eyed and ravished, certainly the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen.”
