Demonic
Sheri Whitefeather
Heat Level: 6 (Erotic)

Some men are so dark, so dangerous, and so exciting it's just not humanly possible...

Writer Jane Brooks enlists her two friends, Emily and Suzanne, to help research an article by combing an underground sex club where patrons masquerade as supernatural beings and engage in the most bizarre erotic games imaginable-and unimaginable. Then three men disguised as demons convince Jane and her friends to become more than spectators.

They can't say no to such powerful, demanding, desirable strangers. But is it really just a masquerade?

I have only read Native American Romances by this author, so you can only imagine my delight to have read this erotic romance. The author delivers a delicious tale of sensual and erotic play that surprisingly turns from fantasy to reality.

Jane Brooks is a writer looking to do some research for an article on an underground sex club. The exclusive club is full of patrons who pretend to be supernatural beings. Jane couldn’t possibly go alone so she brings along her two best friends, Emily and Suzanne. The three women have never experienced the erotic and sinful activities the club offers.

As soon as the three arrive on the scene they are introduced to three men who help each bring out the erotic desires that they hold. While the men are hard to resist, it becomes even harder for the women when they hear about the rumor that one of them is a “real” demon and the other two are his human friends who act as guardians.  Jane, Emily and Suzanne embark on sensual game to find out who is the real demon.

While I did enjoy this book and I’m glad the author has ventured off into another genre, there are some things that didn’t quite make it the perfect book in my opinion. The story doesn’t flow with great precision. It is choppy in parts. I know there are three stories that shape out the main story but the author jumps around from one person’s point of view to the next, which can take a reader out of the moment.

The development of certain characters is not fully thought out. I wished the author had spent more time on the characters. I became interested in Emily’s character but she really doesn’t get much attention until half way through the book. I almost forgot about her story until it popped up.

There are elements of the story that really intrigued me. The paranormal undertones connected the story nicely and gave a broader understanding of why the men are so close. The hint of mystery is a nice twist, though I discovered the identity of the demon rather quickly. The introduction of the other characters set up a possibility for future books. The sex scenes are explosive but written tastefully.

Overall, this is a tantalizing and sizzling erotic romance that will leave readers wanting more. I do hope the author takes some of the background characters (Noah) and give them a story.
