Storm's Heart
Thea Harrison
Heat Level: 3 (Sensual)

He’s a wyr warrior, a god of storms. She’s the heir to the Dark Fae throne. But desire will bring both to their knees in this all-new Novel of the Elder Races.

During the rule of her murderous Dark Fae uncle, Thistle “Tricks” Periwinkle found sanctuary among the wyr in New York. Her ethereal beauty and sparkling personality won the hearts of the public, but after her uncle’s death, there are those who don’t want to see her ascend to the throne…

Able to wield thunder and lightning, wyr sentinel Tiago Black Eagle has ruled the skies for centuries. His massive build and thunderous power make him one of the wyr’s best weapons. And he’s sent to protect Tricks when she’s almost assassinated in Chicago.

Soon, both Tiago and Tricks will fall prey to the stormy hunger that engulfs them—a passion that will shake the very foundation of all the worlds…

Storm’s Heart, the second novel of the elder races, starts off with a bang and doesn’t let up for a minute.

Tiago Black Eagle is a warrior. He leads the Wyr’s army and is much happier fighting than anything else. When he learns that the soon-to-be Dark Fae Queen, Niniane Lorelle, has been injured and is on the run there is nothing that will keep him from going after her. Known as the God of lightning and storms, Tiago is just the man to find Niniane and to keep her safe.

Niniane Lorelle, also known as Thistle “Tricks” Periwinkle, has spent most of her life with Wyr. After a coup killed her family and she escaped she had no contact with the Dark Fae people. However, with the death of her uncle, who was also the man who killed her family, she comes out of her hiding and returns to the Dark Fae people to be their Queen.

There are people that don’t want Niniane to become queen and it is up to Tiago to keep her safe. Tiago struggles with his attraction to Niniane for a small time, and then they both give in to the inevitable. I absolutely love this couple. They are so different and are at such different points in their life that on paper they shouldn’t work as a couple, but they do. I loved how Tiago is willing to do whatever Niniane needs him to do and how Niniane can make the serious man smile. Neither character is perfect. Their relationship has a lot of ups and downs. I loved the realistic feel to them.

There is a lot of action and twists and turns in Storm’s Heart. The writing is superb. The reader can feel the stress of not knowing who to trust and not knowing who is on Niniane and Tiago’s side. The ending was perfect. There is a sense of hope and peace that is missing for most of the book. I loved that the couple has moved full circle and are truly at a happy place by the end of the book.
I absolutely cannot wait to read book three in this series!
