Vampire Fight Club by Larissa Ione

Vladlena is a shifter that can’t shift. For years, she has been trying and has yet to achieve her goal, disgracing her family. When her brother is killed in a fight at an undercover fight club, Vladlena vows to avenge him even if it puts her in harms way.

Nathan, a sexy and dangerous vampire, is searching for a new medic to work in the club. When he encounters Vladlena it is almost too perfect. She is hiding something and he won’t stop until he discovers her secret.

The heat and passion from Vladlena and Nathan jumps out at readers instantly. From the moment that they meet, Nathan and Vladlena tangle in a game of lust and deceit. Nathan has lost his wife years ago and though he promises never to get too close to a woman again, he can’t help his attraction to Vladlena. He goes to extreme lengths to protect her. By the end of the story, it is clear that they are the perfect match for one another.

Darkest Eternal by Alexandra Ivy

Kata is trying to escape the pits of hell. Being captive by her sister (whom turned evil years ago) is a hard enough pill to swallow. Once her sister dies, Kata realizes that her sister has cast a spell to tie their souls together, opening up the gates of hell. The only man to help her is another vampire. Can she put her trust in him?

At first, it is not clear which way the author wanted the story to go. Uriel and Kata’s connection is slow to start. Their hatred and distrust of each other is evident. I became a bit scared because this is a short story and not a full length novel so the author had to cut to the chase. However, once Uriel and Kata began to let down their guard, that anxiety left me, making me appreciate their story. The complimented each other and Kata stood her own which made me respect her more.

Kane by Jacquelyn Frank

Kane has been infatuated with Corrine from the moment he has met her but in his world, humans are forbidden fruit. After a brief encounter with Corrine, he has awakened her dormant druid  DNA, sparking a combustible chemistry between Corrine and Kane. Corrine doesn’t take to Kane right away. In order to keep her energy up, she must keep close to Kane and the idea, while appealing, is also appalling. She doesn’t know why the crazy demon believes he is her mate but she can’t help but to want to be with him.

This is strictly for the fans of the Nightwalker series. While the short story in entertaining and gives readers some satisfaction to how Kane and Corrine became an item, it doesn’t say much of what readers may not have already known. I’m just glad that readers will finally get the chance to know the full story of these two.

Dragon on Top by G.A. Aiken

Ghleanna is assigned to escort Bram through a dangerous dragon territory and she is not too pleased with the idea. Bram, on the other hand has his own ideas of how the time should fly between the two. He is fiercely attracted to Ghleanna and he plans to seduce her and make her his woman. The battle is on and the two fight along the way. Who will win the battle?

I do love G.A. Aiken’s humor. It resonates true in her Shelly Laurenston’s books as well. With that being said, that is about the only thing that made me like the novella. The heat between Bram and Ghleanna is hot and I love the interaction between the two. The story falls short on holding my attention. Maybe if it the story was longer I would have enjoyed it more.
