Is Alana dead? Or did she simply abandon her husband and daughters? Claire is determined to find out—and her former boyfriend, Isaac Morgan, wants to help. Although their relationship didn't end well, he still has feelings for her. And yet it isn't until he starts to suspect David's death wasn't an accident that he's drawn back into her life.

Review

Roxanne Haught is a force to be reckoned with. They don’t call her Razor for nothing. She is out on leave after botching up a huge case for the security agency that she works for.  To make matters worse, her boss has assigned Tanner O’Connell, a new rookie, to babysit her while on leave. Razor plans to spend the next few days working on her house before getting back into the swing of things at work but when she realizes that someone is out to hurt her, she can’t sit low.

Tanner admires Razor’s strength and beauty. She has a lot more to her than her rich girl vibe. He tries to get to know her better but Razor’s cold frosty vibe warns him off. Now he must team up with her to find out who is trying to take her life. The two gets closer and find it almost impossible to keep their hands off one another.

Razor takes some time to warm up. She has a wall up that is hard for Tanner to get through. At first I had my misgivings about how the sexual chemistry and tension would play out but eventually Razor sees Tanner as someone she can let go with and boy do they burn up with passion.

Tanner is not your typical security agent. He is a typical cowboy and who doesn’t love a cowboy? Throw him in the mix of a high paced drama and it’s the perfect blend. He is caring and a man who will step up to the plate if he feels fit. I loved how he let Razor take control but stood around if she needed him. He isn’t afraid to call her out when she pushes him away.

There is so much action and information entwined to the romance that I found myself rapidly flipping through the pages. The constant switch of the character’s point of view is jarring but I immediately caught on. I actually enjoyed reading the villain’s point of view as well as Tanner and Razor’s own.

This is a fantastic and thrilling ride for all romance suspense lovers to take. Shannon K. Butcher just got on my list of authors to look out for.
