Review
Deadly Little Lies starts with Davros Gianakipulus excited and nervous about a lunch date with a woman he has admired for a long time – art gallery owner, Carrie McCray. Little does he know that their date is going to be interrupted when he and Carrie are kidnapped and taken to a foreign country.
This book fell very flat to me. The characters are okay, but very one dimensional. I didn’t have a vested interest in their safety after being kidnapped or in their romantic relationship. Dav and Carrie spent most of the story in a hole in the ground in Belize. I kept waiting for them to GET OUT OF THE HOLE! Only so much romance and sexual activity is believable when the two main characters are thrown into a hole and fed food in a sack.
The suspense in the book was also lacking. The reader is told who the kidnapper is from the very beginning and why he has kidnapped Dav and Carrie.
There are many instances where details from the previous book, Deadly Little Secrets, are mentioned. I couldn’t help but wonder if having read the first book would have helped me enjoy Deadly Little Lies more.
If you are looking for a romantic suspense that will set your heart racing I would skip Deadly Little Lies.
