What happens when you let yourself fall over the edge…and into temptation?

Mischa Kennon isn’t one to take it lying down, at least not until she meets sexy Connor Galloway, a green-eyed Irishman with an air of authority she finds hard to resist. While performing duties as maid of honor to her best friend, Mischa indulges in a casual relationship with Connor. She’s surprised by the thrill of his dominance, and lusts for more feisty battles before surrender.

It’s all fun and games in the BDSM Pleasure Dome Club, until Mischa realizes Connor could master her heart. If she gives in to desire, will it be too much to handle, or will it open her to a kind of love she never thought possible?

Review

Mischa Kennon has no problem mixing a little bit of pleasure into her trip to Seattle. Connor Galloway seems just like the man to have fun with. He is a bit too dominant but that is the appeal for her. Since this trip is short, what harm is it to indulge?

Connor Galloway has lived a rough life. The way he copes with his past is to be in absolute control over everything. He is doing a fine job of that until he meets Mischa. She not only brings out his dominant nature but she makes him lose control of his emotions.

I hate reading a series out of order but this story reads as stand alone which I’m grateful for. The story starts at Dylan’s wedding party where Mischa meets Connor. The two have an immediate connection and leave together for a night of steamy sex. Mischa is use to wild and free sex and she knows that Connor is a dominant male. She is free and independent which would normally clash with Connor’s personality but she dives into the short affair…a little easily.

Bottom line, this story is too repetitive. The two characters are constantly having sex and while I love sex, too much of it and not enough of an emotional connection is not a great thing for me. After each sexual encounter, Mischa is constantly bottoming out, overwhelmed by her emotions to submitting to Connor. Meanwhile, Connor has to comfort her while he is struggling with his own emotional turmoil. The whole emotional conflict is displayed through a lot of inner dialogue which I wished the characters would have expressed to one another.

Mischa gives Connor a tattoo and it is during this scene where they are talking to one another. I got a glimpse into both characters. I thought it was a turning point in the book but the author didn’t add more scenes like that. I constantly craved the emotional aspect of the book.

The pressure became too much and Connor leaves Mischa without a word. Mischa is heart broken because she is finally in love with a man, who appears to not have the same emotions that she does. Finally, Connor comes to his senses at the end which is very cookie cutter. There is no real explanation of what was going on inside his head. I would have thought he would have taken better care of Mischa since she placed so much trust in him in. After all of that, I’m not sure if I can believe an HEA with these two.

The sex scenes are scorching and the characters are very dark with a lot of issues. The scenes are not mild and might push readers out of their comfort zone. My biggest complaint is that there is too much angst. The connection between Mischa and Connor is purely physical, IMO. Not a bad read just not the best. I’m still going to read the first two books in this series.
