Summer Nights

Horse whisperer Shane Stryker is done with passion. This time around, he's determined to meet someone who will be content with the quiet life of a rancher's wife. And the fiery, pint-size redhead who dazzles him at the local bar definitely does not fit the bill.

Small-town librarian Annabelle Weiss has always seen herself as more of a sweetheart than a siren, so she can't understand why Shane keeps pushing her away. Shane has formed the totally wrong impression of her but only he can help her with a special event for the next Fool's Gold festival. And maybe while he's at it, she can convince him to teach her a few things about kissing on hot summer nights, too—some lessons, a girl shouldn't learn from reading a book!

Review

Since I didn’t like the last book in the series, I had reservations about picking this book up. I’m glad that I did.

Annabelle Weiss has given up on love. With the shortage of men in Fool Gold’s and her squeaky clean image of the town’s librarian, she doesn’t have many chances for love. She has thrown herself into the mission of fundraising for a bookmobile to help get books to the town’s shut-in.  First, she needs to learn how to ride a horse and Heidi suggests she goes to the best…Shane Stryker.

Shane wants a simple life with a simple girl and Annabelle Weiss is trouble. From the moment he sees the red-head dancing on top of the bar, moving seductively, he can’t get her off his mind. He knows better than to mess with a woman like her so when his mother asks him to give riding lessons to the local librarian, he jumps right on it. A local librarian is the kind of girl he needs…or so he thinks.

Amy can’t resist Shane but he is constantly pushing her way.  The cat and mouse game they play is cute. She realizes that Shane has the wrong perception of her. She is not the wild vixen he painted her out to be. Amy sets out to prove him wrong but when someone from her past shows up, Amy is back at square one.

Amy and Shane’s chemistry is hot! They both have trust issues but they can’t keep their hands off of each other.  Readers will get a glimpse into Charlie’s background and her story will pull on the heartstrings. I can’t wait to read her story. She deserves a HEA after all she has been through. She needs a real genuine guy to make her fall.

Once again, Ms.Mallery delivers a cute and sweet contemporary romance in her popular Fool Gold’s series.
