Rancher and mountain climber Josh Conway has never backed down from a challenge. So when a photographer disappears in the wilderness during a blizzard, Josh answers the emergency call and leaps into action. Yet he's soon shocked to find the person in "distress" is doing fine-and she's a gorgeous blond spitfire who's as brave and bold as he is.

Sierra Moore will stop at nothing to capture the perfect picture, even if it means braving a snowstorm in the mountains. She's not used to being rescued, especially by a ruggedly handsome cowboy who makes her heart skip a beat. Sierra can't turn down Josh's invitation to ride out the storm at the Conway family ranch-and she can't resist his slow, steamy kisses, either. But this mysterious beauty is hiding a deadly secret. Now as a dangerous force closes in on her, Sierra fears it will destroy everyone she cares about . . . starting with Josh.

Review

The mountain has always called to Josh Conway. It is the one place in Wyoming that he can call his own. He knows it like the back of his hand so he is not surprised when the local ranger calls him to ask for help. A photographer has disappeared and a snow storm is brewing. Josh is more than surprised when he spots the sexy photographer. She is not at all what he had imagined and she doesn’t appear to be in any danger.

Sierra Moore can’t believe the beauty of this place. She captured some of the most gorgeous pictures ever. She almost doesn’t want to leave the mountain but when the ruggedly rancher insist that she leaves, she reluctantly follows him. Once they are safe off the mountain, Sierra discovers that a man from her past is stalking her and Josh offers her a place to stay.

Sierra never had a traditional family life as a child so when Josh invites her to stay with his family she is overwhelmed and amazed at how loving they all are. The more she is around them, the harder it is to leave. Now that danger has arrived at the ranch, Sierra must push her feelings aside because she doesn’t want the people she has come to care about to get hurt.

I don’t know if this book is super short or if I got so caught up into it but I flew through this. There is something about a sexy cowboy and a dangerous plot that gets a girl like me. The mountains are an instrumental part of the book and they become more than just the background in the story. I loved how the author paints the scene for the readers.

Josh comes from a big and outspoken family. The dinner scenes and the work among them are very nice. It brings the family together but sometimes they took away from the story because they are constantly around. I didn’t want to read about them that much. Although, I look forward to Jake’s book.

Since the book opened up with Josh opening up about the mysterious disappearance of his mother, I am rather surprised that the author didn’t mention it more. There is so much to add with the mystery surrounding her disappearance but the author just left it which is disappointing to me.
