"Wardrobe malfunction" doesn't begin to cover it.

With a rip louder than the "I dos," Hayley's hideous bile-yellow bridesmaid dress explodes. She's always had enviable curves, but nearly naked wasn't quite the look she'd been going for at her ex's wedding.

She's rushed from the altar under the best man's designer tux jacket. Hayley's expecting a blast of icy disapproval from sexy, sophisticated Niccolò Rossi—his usual reaction to anything she does. What she gets is a kiss that nearly melts what's left of her polyester nightmare gown.

It's impossible on a million levels. Exuberant engineer Hayley and buttoned-up lawyer Nico have never seen eye to eye—but skin to skin? Oh, mio… So when Nico shows up at her flat on Christmas Day to give her a fabulous gift—himself—Hayley's delighted to do the unwrapping. But it's just a holiday fling. By New Year's Day, she'll come back to her senses…unless Nico's sensual skills tear away all her resolve.

Review

Sarah Morgan manages to pack a whole lotta delicious, sexy tension into her novella Ripped, which left me more than satisfied with this shorter read.

I have to tell you, Ripped was a nice little surprise for me. I started reading this novella with no expectations. Yeah, it sounded interesting but so do a lot of other books I start and never finish. I read this one through in one sitting. Yes, it’s fairly short clocking in at only 89 pages but boy did it quite the big punch.

For starters I love when the hero, who in this case would be Niccolo Rossi, appears cold and disapproving toward the heroine, who is Hayley (never did get her last name).

The book opens with the two at Hayley’s ex’s wedding. She’s the bridesmaid (don’t even ask me how that came about) and he’s the best man. The groom is—was his best friend. Hayley’s wearing this crazy tube-like gown that rips and exposes two of her precious ‘jewels’. While everyone is gawking at her, Nico covers her in his jacket and whisks her away. That’s when things get hot!

The sexual tension between Hayley and Nico is combustible and when her sister invites him and his sister over for dinner, things at the dinner table really get hot. Needless to say, the two get to know each other a whole lot better over the course of the next five days.

I really loved the humor in this book. Hayley has this wicked dry sense of humour, which I love. At times she’s self-deprecating but her observations are on point and I love that she’s not shy and retiring.

Ripped is told in first-person, single POV so we’re not inside Nico’s head but honestly, we don’t need to to fall for this guy. He’s a sexy, inscrutable, gorgeous hero. Of course we know from jump street he doesn’t really dislike Hayley like she thinks he does. He’s totally hot for her under all his starchy lawyerness. What I love is seeing him come out of his shell and admit it.

I also adored Hayley’s sister Rosie. She’s got this guy in her past—Hunter—whose name is never supposed to be mentioned. I soooo want to know what happened to them. I’m praying to the book gods that her book is next and that’s it’s a longer book. Ms. Morgan set this next book up just right—if that was her intention—because she has me dying to read it.  In the meanwhile, I went and hunted down Sleigh Bells in the Snow and will read that now. I think it’s her first single title full-length novel. I’m hoping it’s just as good as Ripped.
