Review

I’m a huge Toni Blake fan. I have enjoyed most of the books that I have read from her. My excitement of reading a book from her earlier collection could hardly be contained. Toni Blake pens a sensual and mystifying romantic suspense tale.

Stephanie Grant packs up her life and heads to New Orleans on a mission to find her missing sister. From what Stephanie has gathered, her sister is a high priced escort and frequents a place called Chez Sophia’s. Once Stephanie lands in New Orleans, she goes to Chez Sophia’s to do some investigation of her own.

Stephanie sticks out like a sore thumb from the moment she steps into Chez Sophia. Former cop, Jake Broussard, spots Stephanie and is curious why would a woman pretend to be an escort? He’s been burnt before and he promises himself that he is not going to get involved in whatever Stephanie is doing. Promises are sometimes meant to be broken and Jake find himself helping Stephanie navigate the sinful nights at the club.

The story is just so much more than Stephanie’s search for her missing sister. Jake harbors a painful past that holds him emotionally hostage. Stephanie is discovering her sexuality while fighting her growing feelings for Jake. They share some sizzling moments as Stephanie’s desires are awakened. There is an emotional tug of war that creates a tense atmosphere whenever they are around each other.

There are other plot devices, such as a clingy teenager, that add a different feel to the dark storyline. The city places a sensual background that adds another element to the book. The Cajun feeling and spicy scenes will leave readers trying to cool down.

Wildest Dreams is a scorching erotic mystery that will leave readers delighted for some time afterwards.
