Keeping Her
Cora Carmack
Genre: New Adult
Heat Level: Sensual
Rating:

Garrick Taylor and Bliss Edwards managed to find their happily-ever-after despite a rather . . . ahem . . . complicated start. By comparison, meeting the parents should be an absolute breeze, right?

But from the moment the pair lands in London, new snags just keep cropping up: a disapproving mother-in-law-to-be, more than one (mostly) minor mishap, and the realization that perhaps they aren't quite as ready for their future as they thought.

As it turns out, the only thing harder than finding love is keeping it.

Review

I hadn’t read Losing It before I started Keeping Her, and I can’t wait to pick it up myself.

Keeping Her takes place after Losing It, after Bliss and Garrick get engaged and move onto the next chapter of their lives. This chapter begins with the two of them going to see Garrick’s parents before the wedding. Bliss is ridiculously nervous about meeting his parents, losing sleep and everything. But can you blame her? Meeting the rich parents of your fiance would unnerve anyone.

And boy do they show it. The first meeting between Bliss and the Taylors begin with a costly mistake, and then having to be part of a fancy party. All this after drinking with some old mates of Garrick’s. This short trip gets better and better, until we make it to the climax and then have an ending that makes you just want more.

That would be one of my only complaints with this book, that it was too short. I want more! One minute they’re landing in London, and the next I was done. I had to check the ending of the story again to make sure I hadn’t skipped something. The ending came just as a fight was finishing between Bliss and Garrick, and it did make it feel as though there were some unresolved issues.

The last few complaints I had with this book would be that I felt that everything was a little too predictable. Which made the characters a little cheesy sometimes. But never the less, I loved the characters, cheesy and everything. I can’t wait to read Losing It, and any other books that come out afterwards.
