Review

The worst part about some New Adult books is reading a story that’s wrapping up a three book deal on one couple. This is the final part in Ella and Micha’s love story. I didn’t know that going in and it did make it more difficult to care about the characters or follow the story. This also creates a scenario where as a reader I felt more time was taken to catch me up with the characters versus telling me story that would ensnare me.

This book does deal with deep material and the heroine and hero are working to overcome Ella’s suffering from depression. The dialogue, emotional sacrifice, and patience involved are apparent, making it easy to believe in Ella and Micha’s love. Micha is very much the hero in this story and rescues his Ella countless times from the smallest gesture to the grand ones.

I found the story easy to read, but if you’re looking for something with twists or turns this book is not it. It’s really a continuation story with a few more looks at how Ella and Micha got to where they are now. A lot of the pages involve daily activities and at times slowed the pace of the story. There’s still plenty of steam and sensual moments though only one of those scenes seemed necessary to the plot and point of the story.

Secondary characters created some potential elements for future series and I’m very interested in learning more about Ella and Micha’s best friend, who are now an item. Could there be a book in their future? I hope so. I also enjoyed the growth of the main characters in the book; both of them finally come to terms with certain things that can affect their relationship.

Overall, this story will pull at the heart strings of those who believe in soul mates and seek an HEA for everyone. I full recommend readers dive into the first two books of Ella and Micha’s story before reading this one as it doesn’t really work to well as a stand-alone.
