With one look, I’m his . . .

With one touch, he’s mine . . .

With one kiss, it changes everything between us . . .

I’ve been famous since I can remember. Singing, acting, dancing—I’ve done it all. The tabloids cover my every move, but I don’t want that anymore. I want to be normal, whatever that is.

When I leave Hollywood for college in Vermont, I’m on my own for the first time in my life. This is my chance to figure out who I am and what I want in life.

But it’s a lot harder than I expected. I can’t escape my image. Classes are difficult, and I’m struggling. And then there’s Caleb Fox.

Sexy, intriguing Caleb Fox.

Caleb is the one man who doesn’t want to use me. He breaks down my walls. He challenges me. He wants me. And I just don’t know if I can give him the same—or if he’ll stick around when he finds out my shameful secret that the tabloids haven’t managed to uncover.

Dating him is risky enough, but loving him could break me.

Review

Hailey was a child star.  From Gerber baby to teen superstar, Hailey has spent almost her entire life in the spotlight.  That is, until she decides she’s had enough.  At the age of 17, Hailey just wants to be normal, and to be treated like she’s a regular person.  Choosing to (hopefully) forgo her life as a celebrity, she chooses to attend a smaller college in Vermont.  Hailey has never even attended high school, so this is a huge change for her.  Classes are difficult, and Hailey struggles to be treated like a regular college freshman…let’s just say things aren’t easy for her.  And to top it all off, Hailey has made a promise to herself; she would not pursue any romantic relationships while she’s in college.

And then there’s Caleb.  Hailey meets him at a party, and she figures he wants to get with her just like every other guy on campus…after all, she’s the Hailey Bloom, isn’t she?  But then she runs into him again…and again, and she’s starting to notice that he’s one of the only people she’s met since moving to Vermont (besides her professors) that treats her like she’s a normal human being.  He also seems to know a LOT about how women tick, but with four sisters, he should know a thing or two, right?

Of course, there’s also Daphne, who is a fellow freshman, and an awesome friend…who also happens to be Caleb’s sister.  Daphne has a snarky personality, she’s definitely got brains, and she swears like a sailor. Hanging out with Daphne, Caleb, and his friends, Hailey starts to feel like there might be a chance for her to have a regular life after all.

But Hailey has a pretty heavy secret…and there’s something that Caleb hasn’t exactly been forthcoming about.  Could these things kill their budding relationship when it’s only just begun?

I really love this story line, and it feels so realistic.  And the characters are fantastic!  Hailey may have grown up as a superstar, but she has normal 18/19 year old feelings just like the rest of us did/do.  Even though she thinks her insecurities are crazy, especially given how she grew up, they are TOTALLY NORMAL.  And Caleb?  Where to even begin?!  He is SO wonderful! I would be happy to be with someone HALF as wonderful as he is!  He is a fantastic brother, friend, and of course, boyfriend.  And Daphne…let’s just say that I REALLY wish she were MY best friend!

You absolutely need to read this book!  You won’t regret it!
