She’s making a wish list, and he wants to be on top.

From foster kid to trophy wife, Tessa McAllen is about to reinvent herself all over again—and defy every insult her cheating ex-husband ever used against her: Selfish? She’s championing a charity. Stupid? She’s getting her degree.

Boring in bed?

Kade Vandergriff can help her with that one. When they encounter each other at a singles event held at one of his restaurants, Tessa blurts out that kink is for girls who try too hard, and Kade instantly wants to show this sassy stranger how thrilling a night under his command can be…but when he learns her name, the game changes for both of them.

In high school, Tessa was the popular girl who stuttering, awkward Kade fell for. But she chose another. Now, as she eagerly learns lesson after lesson, he’s going to make sure she never forgets him again.

Review

Need You Tonight is the much awaited story about Kade, the dominant who has a played an underlying role in many of the couple match ups over Loren’s series. And he doesn’t disappoint. Ever.

I really expected something completely different from this bad boy. Instead I received a heartbreaking backstory, emotional depth that sucked me in even further, and a huge sympathetic bone for this Restaurant Magnate. At the end of the whole book I also realized Kade wasn’t a bad boy. In fact he’s the boy next door, who enjoys telling his sex partners what to do and a bit of a sadist. Yes, he enjoys pain during the act, but for everything there is a reason. Kade’s younger years in high school are definitely a huge source of how he came to be who he is and if you thought high school was hell his story will probably breach you in multiple ways.

As for the heroine, she was forgettable. Leading up to writing this review I realized I forgot her name. Maybe it’s ‘I-don’t-think-shes-good-enough-for-him’ thing or simply that I sympathized with her back story but not her. Tessa is the woman who relied on everyone else once upon a time. Determined to be a stronger person she’s not into giving anyone control over anything ever again. I can relate to her story, but somewhere along the line she lost me and I couldn’t picture her being Kade’s one and only forever. Such is life. Also, if it wasn’t for Kade and Tessa’s shared history I don’t think this coupling would have worked. Simply because Tessa is trying so hard to be a different person and she worked with Kade because she trusted him when she was younger.

As to other aspects, tension and conflict are there in spades. Loren has a way of writing stories that touch so many emotional chords and up the personal stakes for the characters and the readers. The sexy times are so hot they can’t be contained and if you wanted to see what Colby is like in the bedroom well let’s just say I got a sneak peak with this story.

Also, I have to offer continuous praise for Loren. She creates characters that have to deal or have dealt with series issues like bullying, assault, controlling relationships, etc. and is able to show readers how BDSM is extremely different from the stereotypes it’s been labeled with.

Overall, I don’t think fans of this series will be disappointed at all and I look forward to Loren’s next book. Colby, yum.
