Review

Julie Materson loves her job as a florist. Her business is thriving and she shares the success with her best friend. One day her world changes when Daniel Covington enters her shop to buy flowers. She knows he is sexy and dangerous but she is still drawn to him.

Her best friend, Sasha, has been trying for years to get her to enter the world of BSDM but Julie is scared. When she discovers that Daniel is a Dom, her curiosity is piqued. Daniel is not sure if Julie is ready for his lifestyle but his attraction for her is stronger than his desire to leave her alone. The two slowly embark on a journey of self discovery and trust.

I absolutely loved the Submissive series by Tara Sue Me so I became excited to try a new series. The story flows easily but that became my main problem with the story. It is just too easy. Daniel is perfect. Honestly, I can’t even imagine a more perfect hero. He truly cares for Julie. Even in the beginning, when he is unsure whether she is submissive or not, he pushes his own sexual desires aside and enjoys vanilla sex with her. He doesn’t push her. When they start to play the game his way, he still handles her with kid gloves. He knows what to say, how to say it and when to say it.

I also had a problem with everyone in the book (I swore it was everyone in their town) being in this lifestyle. I think the author was trying to set up future books for the series which did work. I’m so curious to how things will play out for Cole, Sasha and Dana…that teaser at the end got to me. The secondary characters had real angst and turmoil that I hope the author can flesh out in the future books.

I read a lot of books of various genres. I love BDSM books but if I had to call this anything it would be BDSM lite…very lite. There is a little spanking, a little playing around but nothing hardcore.  I would recommend this for those who enjoy a little kink with their story.
