Review

Linda Howard is one of my favorite romance authors. I loved basically everything she wrote when she wrote for Harlequin/Silhouette. Her Mackenzie's series is definitely one of my favorite series.

Mackenzie's Mission is probably my favorite book in the series. Wait, Mackenzie's Pleasure comes pretty darn close or ties. So difficult to choose. Anyway, getting back to Colonel Joe "Breed" Mackenzie and Carolyn Evans. Love love love these two. Carolyn is a totally innocent. A beautiful girl genius who has no experience with men. If you read the first book in the series, Mackenzie's Mountain, you met Joe as a teenager (Hawke's son). Joe is a gorgeous, pale-eyed alpha male who is super delicious. One of my many book boyfriends, for sure.

Carolyn meets Joe, who is the project manager of the laser team (for the F-22 fighter aircraft) she's now on. The second they clap eyes on each other, wham. Ridiculous sexual chemistry ensues. When another member on the team comes on to her rather aggressively, Joe comes to the rescue and claims he's her man. Of course then playing his girlfriend becomes reality.

And their relationship is hot. I absolutely loved how it developed and then climaxed (no pun intended). The black moment. What can I say, it was perfect. It was almost painful to read and I loved the suspense of the final scenes. And there's nothing like a wonderful epilogue to make the perfect HEA. Loved loved loved this book.

Next up in the series is Mackenzie Pleasure, which is about Joe's brother Zane who is a SEAL. Again, loved loved loved this book too.
