Wedding bells celebrating the arranged marriage between the lovely Duchess of Beaumont and her staid, imperturbable duke had scarcely fallen silent when a shocking discovery sent Jemma running from the ducal mansion. For the next nine years she cavorted abroad, creating one delicious scandal after another (if one is to believe the rumors).

Elijah, Duke of Beaumont, did believe those rumors.

But the handsome duke needs an heir, so he summons his seductive wife home. Jemma laughs at Elijah’s cool eyes and icy heart—but to her secret shock, she doesn’t share his feelings. In fact, she wants the impossible: her husband’s heart at her feet.

But what manner of seduction will make a man fall desperately in love…with his own wife?

  12. What a pretty cover.

I’ve read three books in this series so far (1, 2, 4) and enjoyed each one more than the previous, so the last books in the series should be doozies.

  13. Eloisa,
Your books are always so enjoyable. With all the reading I had to do at work, I missed this one. Keep up the wonderful writing.
    Have a great Holiday Season!

  14. This is one of my favorite romance book covers of all! The colors and the pose are appropriate for the time period and the story line. Sounds like a wonderful read!

  15. Matter of fact, I am currently finishing up Desperate Duchesses. I love the way Eloisa does dialogue. I think it makes the reader feel as if they are conversing with the characters, rather than reading about them conversing. And I love the story. Look forward to continue reading this series!

  16. I have enjoyed the “hints” left in the previous books about these two. Can’t wait to finally see who Jemma reels in her beloved after all the lovely dancing they’ve done around each other!
