Can twelve years of friendship survive one night of no-strings sex?

Nichole has a problem. Matt’s been feeding her fantasy file again. She can’t sleep, she’s burned through two vibrators in as many months, and now she’s eyeing her best friend without benefits like he’s her favorite flavor of candy. Convinced this out-of-control attraction will destroy the most important relationship in her life, Nichole sees only one way to get Matt out of her system…by getting him into her bed.

Matt may have his own set of rules when it comes to Nicki and the strict lines he won’t cross, but Nichole’s willing to play dirty… tempting her BFF with her most secret fantasies and the promise of her ultimate surrender.

Warning: This book contains desperate acts by a determined woman, light bondage, frank and graphic language, and twelve years’ worth of sexual frustration coming to head in one night of erotic escape.

GETTING FRIENDLY was previously published by Cobblestone Press and has since been revised and expanded. Moira McTark is the pen name under which Mira Lyn Kelly writes Erotic Romance.

REVIEW

Three words sum up GETTING FRIENDLY, scorching sexual tension. I loved it!

I’m a total sucker for stories when the hero and/or heroine are trying their hardest to resist each other. This is one of those stories.

Nichole and Matt have been hanging in the ‘friends only‘ zone for twelve years. I mean, they even room together. They’ve pretty much had a thing for each other from the start, but Matt is not ‘going there’ with her. He refuses to ruin their friendship with sex. Nichole, on the other hand, broached the subject of more with him sometime near the beginning of their friendship and her turned her down flat. But he wants her just as much as she wants him. And it’s getting harder–no pun intended–for both of them to keep their hands to themselves.

And since I love a woman who knows what she wants and goes after it, Nichole is a fabulous heroine. She decides enough is enough. Her seduction starts on the stage with a mind-blowing kiss. She tells him it’s for the show–she’s does theatre stuff–but of course it doesn’t end there.  But boy does Matt resist. Finally Nichole convinces him that they should just have one night to get it out of their systems, and then they’ll go back to being just friends. Haha. Famous last words.

This is a great novella. It is hot and full of tons and tons of sexual tension. I absolutely adored Matt. He really really tries to do the right thing by their friendship. But for too many years he’s been fighting both himself and his desire for Nichole. The author does a great job not just making this an erotic read that’s not over the top erotic, but with the emotional aspect of the story. How they both are after their one night together is heart wrenching. I felt so much for both of them.

All in all, if you’re looking for a super sexy read, heaped with lots of emotion, you definitely need to check out GETTING FRIENDLY.

  1. The “friends to lovers” theme is a tough one to pull off for this reader. I’m impressed that you liked this one so much so I will put it on my list to check out. I do love a romance with good sexual tension!

  2. Now this book sounds a bit naughty. I like it! Definitely going on my top 10 to find ‘book list.’ It somewhat reminds me of the movie ‘Friends with Benefits’ Now that was a great movie. I’m looking forward in reading this book. Yelp I’m going to break away from historical and paranormal romance for this book. Thanks for the great review by the way.

  3. Beverly, thanks so much for the fantastic review. Can’t tell you how much I loved writing this book, so it thrills me to hear when others have enjoyed it too. 🙂 Mira/Moira

  4. This sounds like a great novella to try out. Seriously, who doesn’t love angst and strong sexual tension. Something about a hero who tries to fight his feelings and urges trying to preserve the friendship gets me everytime. I’m sure everyone else around them sees they’re perfect each other but they’re in denial. Thanks for the recommendation 🙂

  5. I like that these two were friends before lovers, doesn’t happen much in books. Nice review of it, I will keep it in my TBR list for when I need some scorching sexual tension. =)

  6. Great review Bev, this book looks really good! I have one of Mira Lyn Kelly’s Harlequin Presents book in my TBR pile. I will have to get it out and read it. I hear alot of good things about her books.
