As another holiday is knocking on our door, I started pondering on what I would be doing this Memorial Day and if I wanted to travel or stay close to home. My answer, very quickly by the way was stay close to home with a couple of good books.

So, are you busy making Memorial Day plans? If so, do they include devouring a good book? 1. I read the same, Winter, Summer, Spring or Fall. No plans for the Memorial Day weekend. Just being thankful for all of the men and women that have help give us our freedom.

  2. I tend to read about the same amount in the summer, sometimes a little less though, since in the winter I am far less likely to go outside for any reason. Brrrr. Curling up with a book, a blanket, and a cat is the best cure for the winter yuck ever!

  3. I’m not making any plans personally, but my friends are having a barbeque! It’ll be fantastic and tasty and possibly filled with pinatas.

  4. I try to read as much during the summer as I do during the winter. Thanks for the great giveaway. I do plan to read all of this weekend to catch up on books and I know my parents are going to do a BBQ so I’ll have that too.

  5. I read the same year around. I plan to relax and read some books on my tbr pile during the holiday weekend.

  6. I wish I could say more but I think I read about the same these days – seems I’m so busy but get so little accomplished.
And for Memorial Day… I WANT to just tell everyone to leave me alone and read as many books as I can… but I instead have to do massive cleaning to help a cousin move. Which is like… extra punishment. *sulks*

  7. I read about the same throughout the year. I hope to finally get to Beverley’s book over the holiday.

  8. I read more during the summer because the winter is my busy season at work! 🙂

  9. It’s about the same for me, regardless of the season. Thanks for another great giveaway.

  10. Reading is always my go-to for quiet and relaxation time. Thanks for the giveaway!

  11. I love to read and try to read for a while each day. I am planning to read, go shopping, and go to our loved ones graves this weekend.

  12. This weekend is full of baseball, my son has a tournament here in the Austin area. I love to download new books to my kindle or pack a few in my bag to read in between ballgames. Happy Memorial Day everyone!!

  13. I read more while traveling (provided I’m not the driver), and I seem to travel more in the summertime.

  14. looking forward to the long wknd, there will definately be books involved. only 2 questions — 1. will much of anything else get accomplished & 2. will I be good & pick something off the tbr pile or pick up something new to read instead 😉 have a good wknd all.

  15. There is just something about sitting outside in the shade and reading a good book that makes it better. I love reading during the Summer. I’m looking forward to the 3 day weekend.

  16. Ooooh, pretty new look!
My husband has been gone for work all week. So we are looking forward to a weekend just us and the kids, do whatever we feel like. And hopefully that means me reading a book =)

(no need to enter me in the drawing, just having fun commenting)

  17. I’ve been hearing about Three Weddings and a Murder all day and I’ve already added it to my wish list. I love the authors and I know I’m going to love the book. I thought I’d wait a few days before I added it to my Kindle, but I’ll get it soon. The profits are going to charity, so it’s a great way to contribute as well as getting a fantastic read. I’m definitely going to be doing quite a bit of reading this weekend, I’m in the middle of two great books and I’d like to finish them both.

  18. I love reading good books! For some reason, I prefer reading outside in my screened in porch. Not a good place in the wintertime. 😀

  19. I think I read a bit less in the summer. There is so much work to do in the gardens. It is easier to ignore dust bunnies than ripe produce.
So far we haven’t made any plans for Memorial Weekend. Our grandson is graduating from high school Saturday morning, them my daughter is having a party for him. My husband works, and we have an event we are setting up for on Friday and working Saturday night. We may go to our oldest daughter’s house on Sunday and work on her yard. Gives me a chance to play with the granddaughter. Monday we will be working on our yard and will probably grill a couple of steaks.

I hope you all have a great weekend,

  20. Unfortunately, less —

It’s summer for the kids so I have them both in the house the whole day (or we’re taking them to their summer activities) —

  21. I’m going to my nephew’s wedding!! It’s going to be toasty 90*s! Picking up one of my sons from the airport at noon today. He’s flying in from Florida. EXCITED!

Will see lot’s of family and friends.

I read more in the summer because I get reduced work hours. Off season and I take some extra time off too.

  22. My reading stays the same year round. In the summer I like to sit outside and read. I have plans on Sunday, my friends are coming over to play cards and Monday I plan on relaxing.

  23. I read about the same in the summer as the rest of the year. This Memorial Day weekend is my sister’s birthday, my nephew’s graduation (from high school) party, and his graduation. Hopefully, Memorial Day itself, will be quiet. I plan to sit on the back deck and read.

  24. I tend to read the same throught out the year. But that might change when I start home schooling three kids.

  25. I read about the same throughout the year! On weekends I look forward to having time to relax with a good book. So on a long weekend like Memorial Day, I hope to get more reading time in. If I’m in the middle of a great book, I actually resent having to spend a lot of time at a party or cook out! I will find myself at the event, thinking about when we can leave so I can get back to my reading! Pathetic, I know!

  26. I read more during the summer months when all of my favorite TV shows are on hiatus. BTW, love the new look of your blog!

  27. I am looking forward to reading The Proposal by Mary Balogh this weekend since we are just doing some day trips.

  28. I have a huge TBR pile that grows with more releases so I definitely read more during the summer when school is out.
