I’m still SQUEEEEEEing about this cover 24 hrs later–okay maybe not a whole 24 hrs, but you get my meaning.

I swear, it was like my fairy godmother came and granted me a wish and it came true. The cover for this book has seen many iterations. At one point I thought, it’s not going to happen, I’m not going to get exactly what I want. And if you know me at all, that’s a very bitter pill for me to swallow. I couldn’t believe the vision in my head would not make it’s way onto my cover.

Well Kimberly Killion of HotDamnDesigns.com didn’t let me down. This weekend she sent me something that made me think she’d rode in on a white horse complete with shiny silver armor. Below is the cover for the first book in my New Adult (Mature YA) Language of Love series, WHEN IN PARIS….

  2. Great cover, are you also working on a book to follow Heir of Deception? Can’t wait to read what’s next.

  3. Very nice cover. What is the target age for a new adult novel? I thought YA books were mostly for a teenage audience, but when you mention mature YA, I thought maybe this was a new category. Is your new novel targeted for late teens to early 20s?

    1. Yes, Kim. Apparently it was St. Martin’s Press who coined the term New Adult, which targets 17+ yrs. Most of my New Adult books will be in a college setting. Most of my h/h will be 18-22.

  4. It’s absolutely beautiful!
Congratulations, Beverley, and fantastic job, Kimberly!

  5. I love Kim’s book cover designs! Once again she’s done a fabulous job: WHEN IN PARIS is gorgeous!

  7. Congratulations, Kimberley! Kimberly Killion did give you a beautiful cover for your book, WHEN IN PARIS. Looking forward to reading it.

  8. Beautiful cover, congrats. I really like that cover quote…They’ve known one another for years. But in Paris they discover each other.

  9. I don’t usually pay much attention to covers, but I’ve got to say, that cover is gorgeous and best of all, from what little I know about the book, it looks like a great representation of the contents.

  10. Beverly –

Kudos on whoever designed your cover! It portrays a wonderful feeling of romance!

  11. I’m so happy that you got just what you wanted, and I agree, the cover is fantastic!

  12. Bev, I’m so happy you got the cover you wanted, it’s gorgeous! I look forward to reading it. 🙂

  13. Lovely and just right for an older YA audience. Attraction and romance are implied and their clothes aren’t falling off. It will attract readers to the book and have them check the blurb. I am glad it worked out so well for you.
