Lady Philippa Marbury is . . . odd

The brilliant, bespectacled daughter of a double marquess cares more for books than balls, for science than the season, and for laboratories than love. She’s looking forward to marrying her simple fiancé and living out her days quietly with her dogs and her scientific experiments. But before that, Pippa has two weeks to experience all the rest—fourteen days to research the exciting parts of life. It’s not much time, and to do it right she needs a guide familiar with London’s darker corners.

She needs . . . a Scoundrel

She needs Cross, the clever, controlled partner in London’s most exclusive gaming hell, with a carefully crafted reputation for wickedness. But reputations often hide the darkest secrets, and when the unconventional Pippa boldly propositions him, seeking science without emotion, she threatens all he works to protect. He is tempted to give Pippa precisely what she wants . . . but the scoundrel is more than he seems, and it will take every ounce of his willpower to resist giving the lady more than she ever imagined.

  4. Beverley, I am a 81 yr old widow, who has been almost a complete shut-in for the past 2 years due to a severe heart condition. My son insisted that I get a Kindle and start reading! After setting me up with this new hi-tech device (lol) and showing me how to order books and start reading, and by a shear magic, I found one of your books and I was hooked! I love anything in the vain of Jane Austin (Pride and Predjuice) and you just added to the life and times she lived. I have read all of your books (some twice) and I have been taken out of this boring quiet life I lived into an exciting world of make believe romantic historical life. tThis has helped me escape into a world that is no longer hum-drum and depressing, but exciting, happy and learning about life so long ago (now I know the difference between a duke and an earl!) and the way women lived, were treated expected to behave! I will always thank you for making my life so much fuller and keep writing those wonderful books–you have been a blessing to me and I knowto many, many others.

  5. One Good Earl Deserves a Lover is on my TBR pile. I love a story that has a bookish heroine who wants to experience passion and excitement and the rogue who wants to help her. Sara Maclean never disappoints.

  9. Goodness… I love Sarah Maclean and her Love By Numbers series and this Scoundrel series. She’s always on my automatic buy list. And I think this is one of my fave type of story lines, the “bookish” heroine and the scoundrel jaded hero.
