Squeeee! Maggie has a new book coming out tomorrow. That’s reason enough to celebrate!! And she’s guest blogging here today.
unsuitablesecretary“She’ll put his life in order and turn his world upside-down.”

This has got to be my favorite tagline of the thirteen full-length books I’ve had published! Tomorrow is release day for The Unsuitable Secretary, my Edwardian historical take on the office romance. Sir Thomas Benedict Featherstone is a man of many parts. Too many. He’s a supporter of the arts and is bankrolling struggling creative people all over London. He’s extremely generous but somewhat disorganized, and needs a sympathetic secretary who can read his handwriting and stop him from his too-high flights of fancy.

Enter Harriet Benson, who has been taking care of people all her life while no one has ever really taken care of her. At twenty-eight, she thinks she’s “doomed to take dictation until her vision failed her and her hand shook with palsy…It was her lot in life to straighten out cluttered desks and minds without much fanfare.”

They’re a perfect match in the office, and soon they’ll reach perfection in the bedroom as well. But not without a few stumbles. Thomas, you see, is not quite the Lothario society believes him to be. He is, in fact, a virgin, my very first virgin hero. As soon as he claps eyes on Harriet, he hears thunderbolts. She is the woman for him—now all he has to do is convince her!

The Unsuitable Secretary was such fun to write, and I hope readers fall in love with Thomas and his Harriet. The entire first chapter can be found here.

I’m also running a great website contest for a chance to win a Kindle Fire HD and a pile of books. Go check out the contest page!

The prize today is any book from my backlist (Margaret Rowe books included). Virgin heroines are pretty standard in romances, but virgin heroes are a rare breed. Have you read a book with a virgin hero before? What did you think?

A transplanted New Yorker, she lives with her not-quite perfect husband in Maine, where the cold winters are ideal for staying inside and writing hot historical romances. Her books have been or will be translated into French, German, Portuguese, Turkish, Russian, Japanese, Thai, Dutch and Italian.
