New York Times bestselling author Paula Quinn continues her Highland Heirs series in this not-to-be missed novella.

SHE WOULD NOT BE CONQUERED . . .

Janet Buchanan is no man’s property. She refuses to marry her family’s sworn enemy-consequences be damned. She’d rather take a dagger to the brute herself. Yet when a tantalizing-and infuriating-man from her past comes to her rescue, Janet finds herself undeniably tempted by his hot, hungry kiss.

HE COULD NOT BE TAMED . . .

Notorious for his prowess as a lover and a fighter, Darach Grant has only one goal in mind: to defend his kin’s land from the impending siege of a hostile clan. The last thing he needs is the delicious distraction of Janet Buchanan-the only woman who can stir his ire as deeply as she warms his blood. But Janet’s intended will stop at nothing to claim her, forcing Darach to choose between surrendering his honor . . . or his heart.

Darach Grant promised his cousin that he would help him secured their lands from the enemy. When he arrives, he is confronted with the one woman that he can’t get out of his mind. He is not built for commitment but he wants that with Janet. He wants more and he will not lose out to any arranged marriage that her brother has secured for her.

Janet Buchanan refuses to marry a man she despises even if it to retain peace. She will do anything to make sure that it never happens but she doesn’t have to do much when Darach Grant returns into her life and rescues her. She remembers every moment with Darach and tries too hard to ignore her growing desires but she can’t resist his charm.

I enjoyed the conversations with Darach and Janet. I can see why the two are attracted to one another but they were constantly bumping heads and I didn’t see the cause for it. The story moved along really fast but I wanted more connection and time spent on their “love” for one another. They had a side story in the previous book and that might be one of the reasons why the author felt to rush their story along but more time should have been dedicated to them as a couple.

Another one of my problems with this is that it is very short. It is like taking a bite of your favorite dish and not being allowed to finish the rest. I wanted more of the sweet romance to go on but it is a novella. Regardless, I felt like the story abruptly ended but I’m still willing to go further and read more. It is Ms. Quinn after all!
