First book in the New York Saints series:

Sarah Charles is doing her best to keep her family’s business of flying helicopter afloat when her father becomes ill. She steps in to fly the rich and powerful doctor, Luca Angelo, when he commissions her on several jobs. This is strictly about money but she can’t help her attraction to the man.

Lucas is afraid of flying. He is a man who is normally in control but being in the air at the mercy of someone else’s control doesn’t sit well with him. Each time he is in the air, it tests his steely control but Sara puts him at ease. He offers her a job as his personal pilot when his schedule becomes too hectic. He only trusts her and as they spend a little time together, he realizes he might trust her more with his heart.

So I enjoyed the first book and decided to give book two a try. While I enjoyed this book, I didn’t quite love it. The main characters felt like characters that I would read in a fairytale. The poor girl and the stiff and controlling rich playboy doctor are boring. The characters never felt like they connected until the very end.

Sara is likeable enough but she is very forgettable. I almost felt sorry for her being paired up with Lucas. Oh Lucas! Where do I start? He is just boring. He is so stiff as a character and boring. I get that he is a doctor and control is his thing but he is not fun as a male lead. I wanted him to woo her with just more than money. He is charming at times and of course, I like the dominant attitude but there are no other layers to him.

Overall, this is a good addition to the series but not my favorite. I still want to read the next book in the series.
