  1. Oh my lol!…love the title. The movie (excellent btw) was on BET last night and my hubby and I watched it again for the zillionth time. We sing that song all the time too. As usual AVON has done a fantastic job with the cover. I enjoy Maya’s books and look forward to this one very much! It sounds great! I want it very badly!! 🙂

  2. some of her older books are more traditional in historical writing in style. I think she’s been using more and more modern analogies as she writes.

  3. I haven’t read any of Maya Rodale’s books yet either, but I story about a Duke always draws my attention!

  4. It’s been awhile since I’ve read one of her books. I like the Blurb. Should be a fascinating book.

  5. I liked the first book in this series, as well as The Wicked Wallflower from the last series. I don’t have an issue with the modern voice in historical romance , so I think I will be OK with this storytelling. Love the cover on this, too!

  6. I agree that historical novels should have the feel of authenticity for the time in which they are set. One that can be interchanged with a contemporary setting doesn’t work for me. If I like the author and/or their style, I will overlook some of these flaws and just enjoy the story. It sounds like that would be necessary in this case.
