Review ❤️ The Hookup Plan by Farrah Rochon

Successful pediatric surgeon London Kelley just needs to find some balance and de-stress. According to her friends Samiah and Taylor, what London really needs is a casual hookup. A night of fun with no strings. But no one—least of all London—expected it to go down at her high school reunion with Drew Sullivan, millionaire, owner of delicious abs, and oh yes, her archnemesis.

Now London is certain the road to hell is paved with good sex. Because she’s found out the real reason Drew’s back in Austin: to decide whether her beloved hospital remains open. Worse, Drew is doing everything he can to show her that he’s a decent guy who actually cares. But London’s not falling for it. Because while sleeping with the enemy is one thing, falling for him is definitely not part of the plan.

Dr. London Kelley is overworked and stressed. Her girlfriends convince her that she just needs to hook up with someone and have a bit of fun. She attends her high school reunion and runs into Drew. He was her main competition in high school. She lived to take him down. She have to admit that he is looking very good and not to mention he is successful. It wouldn’t hurt to use him as her hookup plan?

Drew is in town for business. He never anticipated hooking up with London but he has to admit that he is enjoying it. The two are still bumping heads as he is there to scope out the hospital where London works. He makes the final decision if it stays open. Once London finds out, there are right back at square one. Can he convince her that he is no longer the enemy?

This book embodies what I love in this trope. The main characters hate each other. They have different goals. However, they are mature enough to realize they are mildly attracted to one another despite being on opposite sides. They may even dabble but they are clear about their intentions.

It is the slow tension and the process of getting to know one another that melts all the bitterness away. It is just the right temperature. London has a lot on her plate. She has drama with her family, she is stressed about the hospital and she doesn’t know what to do with Drew. He is kind and wants to prove to her that he can be the man she wants. I love the banter between them. I love the friendships that was displayed. I believe you can read this as a stand alone but I think you may enjoy it more by reading the first two books in the series.

So why didn’t this get the full five-star rollout? Well, the first few intimate scenes with the couple was told to the readers. I wanted to get the passion and the details which came on after they started a romantic relationship. If the premise is that she is going to hookup with someone then let me know all the nitty gritty details. Don’t go fade to black on me!

Overall, this is a fun contemporary romance that I really enjoyed.
