The ninth book in the Kelly Flynn series has a very slow beginning, but an exciting end.
The first half of the book is so full of dialogue between Kelly and her huge group of friends that I found myself skipping pages at a time.
The second half of the book picks up as the mystery takes center stage. There are so many twists and turns in this story that I couldn’t figure out who the murderer was till the very end. I loved the way the story was mystery was set up and was completely surprised by who the bad guy turned out to be.
My favorite part of the book was the volleyball game. I loved the interaction and the small bit of revenge Kelly gets on her ex, Steve. It had me laughing out loud and finally enjoying a book that I had been struggling with.
This is a great addition to the series and I think fans will enjoy it once they are past the dialogue heavy beginning. If you haven’t read any of the other books, I don’t think I would start with this one. There is a lot of backstory that while not relevant to the actual storyline, helps to understand the characters and where they are coming from.
