Because what he asks will undo all that she’s done to protect the few remaining of her kind from extinction.

Kougar’s anger and Ariana’s unrepentance are the principle antagonizers of the romantic story. However, it wasn’t a strong enough conflict for me to fully invest in them. It seemed that a lot of their angst could’ve been alleviated if they would’ve just talked to each other rather than at each other.

Kougar and Ariana do resolve to work together for the greater good. In doing so, they begin the tenuous task of repairing a relationship that never should’ve been but forever must be.

A few of the sex scenes felt contrived in their placing. With danger surrounding them and worlds hanging in the balance, it seemed odd that they would stop to have sex when there was immediacy for action.

Hunger Untamed, the fifth book in the Feral Warrior series, takes the reader on a dark, mystical journey from Harper’s Ferry, West Virginia to the Crystal Realm and to the Himalayas and back. It has a richly imaginative setting decorated with colorful characters. The story’s quest to save Kougar’s friends without forfeiting Ariana, her maidens or his own life is entertaining and a nice respite from the mundane.
