A fiery re-telling of Cinderella that ignites the soul…
Sabine Laurent’s live was once filled with fairy-tale daydreams of her own Dark Prince, Jules de Moutier, Count of Charbonneau. Dreams now shattered by the loss of her father and sister at the hands of the Moutier family. Now facing a crippling debt, that will place Sabine and her family in debtor’s prison, her only choice is to attempt to seduce and steal from the very man she once loved.
Jules de Moutier lost everything when his father was framed as a traitor to the crown. The chance to reclaim his birthright and uncover the men who betrayed his family is close at hand after years of privateering for the French Navy. When a night of reckless passion is forged with a silver haired goddess, he only expects carnal pleasure, not his small fortune to be stolen from him.
Both Jules and Sabine enter into a wicked alliance of sensual thrill and danger, in an effort to accomplish their goal of regaining what was once lost to them. Soon they both must decide if the cost of winning is worth losing each other…
A Midnight Dance is titillating and erotic to the core. The story centers around two character’s that are equally beautiful and seductive, and have sheer determination at getting what they want. The witty banter and descriptive emotions that Lila DiPasqua weaves grabbed my attention from the start. I found the interactions between Sabine and Jules mesmerizing, along with their goals and motivations. Unfortunately it was too difficult for me to pick out the best sneak peek scene because everything is too good. I will say that most of the scenes in this book will make blood boil and hearts pound, so definitely plan on a late night read.
This re-telling focuses on the main characters and the villain is far worse than an evil stepmother. Honestly, the conflicts were interesting and engaging. This is one story where the true villain is difficult to predict and surprises lurk in many corners. The secondary character lineup is filled with memorable personalities that provide strength and comedic relief. With historical facts backing up the overall plot, and romance that touches the heart, if you’re buying anything in the month of August make sure it’s A Midnight Dance. I can ensure that this is a dance you’ll never forget.
