Lisa Dale pens a stunningly romantic tale that just about breaks your heart. You can’t help but want everyone involved to get their happily ever after.

Garret Sorensen watched as the one woman he loved married his brother. Unable to stand it, he cut himself off from his family and from Thea. With his brother’s marriage at an end, he finally is able to patch his broken relationship with Jonathan.

Thea Celik has been part of the Sorensen family since they showed up in Newport but now the divorce is threatening the only real family she knows. Worried about her daughter, she does her best to try and keep everything civil with her ex. What she wasn’t counting on was Garret coming back into her life.

Garret is convinced that it is Thea’s fault that his brother’s marriage failed and he is determined to protect his brother while he is staying with him. That means he is the one going and picking up his niece Irina from Thea’s coffee shop. The more time he spends with Thea the more his hatred for her starts to fade away.

I have to say, I was worried about where the story was going. How could you a love triangle of sorts between two brothers end well? Garret and Jonathan have finally reconnected but their relationship is on rocky ground especially since Garret and Thea have a tumultuous history, but Lisa Dale does a good job showing the struggle to get to the HEA.

I was on the fence about Jonathan during most of the story. He came across as a decent guy but he did a horrible thing and said some nasty things to Thea. I really didn’t like him but I found myself understanding his situation and wanting the best for him in the end. Garret, on the other hand, I was immediately drawn to.

I could feel the pain that Garret had towards Thea. But when we first meet him you don’t know the reason behind his hatred for her. As the story unfolds you see that it’s really not hatred but a way of locking away his feelings. And Thea, I felt that she was lost at times but gradually found her way back to who she really is. I admire her strength.

Slow Dancing of Price’s Pier is a classic contemporary romance that deals with real issues. I was hooked from the start and found myself drawn into the story. I enjoyed the way the backstory unfolded slowly throughout including the point of view of all three main characters.
