A most wicked education…

Marissa Rotherhild has always behaved exactly as a proper lady should, and it has done absolutely nothing for her. So now she has made a most sinful proposal. She wants to live only for pleasure, and she wants Lord Valentine Kent to instruct her in the ways of love and lust. Caring not for scandal or the whispers of society, she craves his every wanton touch.

It is every rake’s fantasy.

Lord Valentine Kent has never before been so tempted. Though he is every bit the gentleman, from the moment Marissa arrives at his country estate he can think of nothing but her wild, dark curls and luscious curves. But submitting to passion must wait until he completes the search for an ancestral treasure.

It is a most honorable endeavor.

But Kent and Marissa will soon discover that even the best of intentions is no match for a desire as desperate as theirs . . .

A Most Sinful Proposal runs a heart pounding race where the finish line greets the winner with a far greater prize than the reader expects.

Marissa sets out to attract and marry one man but ends up in a rather interesting situation with his more serious brother. The back cover copy is a bit misleading and could have mentioned the quest and the proper relationship development premise. But, that was neither here nor there for me and did not take away from the book – some readers may not be so happy, but trust me, pick up the book anyway. The story moves quickly and keeps the reader immersed neck deep with interesting romantic interludes and a quest of Arthurian proportions.

This is the second book in the Husband Hunters Club series… the first, Led Astray by a Rake was also a good read and I highly recommend it. But you do not have to have read it first to understand what is going on in this book. The characters are only peripherally related.

Our heroine, Marissa, is a proud and strong girl who has no qualms about going after what she wants. She thinks she knows what she desires until she is practically smacked in the face with the exact opposite. Throw in a rather liberal minded grandmother, who has her own romantic adventure and a matchmaking bent, and Marissa doesn’t stand a chance and neither does Valentine.

Valentine is a serious man, devoted to his work. He has a scarred soul and a self-worth badly damaged by a cold, heartless woman he once called his wife. The poor man wants Marissa but feels inadequate in so many ways. But he has the making of a true hero; brave, masculine, and strong but in need of a good woman – really, what hero doesn’t need a woman as a foil for his perfection… he is a man after all!

The love scenes are fiery and passionate but not vulgar and overdone or out of context with the tone of the book.

I truly enjoyed this book; I always like a good mystery and treasure hunt! A must read
