Liz Carlyle’s ONE TOUCH OF SCANDAL releases September 28th but instead of doing an interview or your typical post, today The Season is the beginning of a blogathon blogging for Liz’s favourite charity, CAT ANGELS. Avon Books has generously offered to contribute $1.00 for every comment up to $3000, which equates to 3000 comments. My goal for The Season Blog is 400 comments or more. If we hit that goal, I will contribute $50 of my own.
And in addition to helping out this wonderful charity, your comment will also enter you to win 1 of 2 copies of ONE TOUCH OF SCANDAL.

Below, Liz is going to introduce us to her cats.
This is my special boy, Elliot, the first of our four rescues. I named him after the hero in my first book, MY FALSE HEART, because like all alpha bad-boys, he wasn’t REALLY bad, just misunderstood. Of course, he’s sitting on the kitchen table, where he definitely ISN’T supposed to be, but when you’re than handsome, you can get away with stuff.
~~~
This is Elliot’s brother, Pelham and his sister Mary, the inspirations for Lord Ruthveyn’s cats, Silk and Satin. We got them at the pound about three weeks after Elliot. It took the dog catcher three trips, answering a feral cat complaint. We agreed to take the whole family. Sadly, we never got the Mamma Cat and the last kitten. Mary is still very feral, but Pelham is a snuggler. He has come a long way from being a wild alley cat. It has been so rewarding to work with ferals, and see them learn to live a normal life.
~~~
And here is Stuart, the most un-feral cat in the universe. We got him at the pound a year later, and life hasn’t been the same since. He has an outsized, dog-like personality and loves everyone. Loves them until they run screaming from our house. Just doesn’t get the concept of “personal space.” Here he is in the back garden, wearing his harness. My husband let him off his leash. He is the only cat who goes outside — but only with supervision.

Desperation drove her into the arms of a devil…
Grace Gauthier had taken a position as governess hoping to find security and peace in a life that had very little of either. She’s always yearned for a good marriage, a family, and a home, but it was not to be. A dark-eyed Lucifer, Ruthveyn guards his secrets carefully. His shadowed past as the Queen’s most trusted agent in India is the stuff of whispered rumor, as is his mixed ancestry. Deeply moved by her plight—and haunted by her beauty—Ruthveyn is determined to save Grace by unmasking a killer. But his growing passion for her soon places his own heart at risk and threatens to expose his dark gifts—and his dark society—to the world . . .

Oh, what beautiful cats! And what a great charity. I don’t know what I’d do without my (cat) girls; they bring a lot of joy not to just to my life, but to my daughters’, too. Here’s hoping you reach your goal of 400 comments – or more!
Margay
Liz I hope you reach your goal! Good Luck!
Hi Beverley and Liz,
I sure hope you reach 400 comments. Your cats are beautiful. What a great charity. I also look forward to reading
One Touch Of Scandal. Good luck.

This is such a great charity. I don’t own animals but I admire people who can ‘tame’ a feral cat. It takes a lot of patience and TLC to succeed. But sadly, not all ferals can be tamed. Liz, have you ever been faced with that situation? And, are you taking any of the rescued cats involved in that raid on the lab abusing the animals?
Great cat pictures, even though I’m a duck woman, myself. And your book sounds great, too.
They are so sweet looking! I’m more of a dog person, but cats require a special…companion. (Let’s face it, dogs have masters. Cats have servants!) They’re just adorable.
such pretty cats! good luck with the comments!
I have two very spoiled cats!!! I hope you reach your goal.
What a great idea!! I rescued my “boy” Grayson from the streets when he was just a baby and I am so glad I did. He is such a lovable boy with a huge personality who loves everyone. And he is just so curious about everything, I can’t go anywhere in the house without him following. I have another cat that we got from the shelter… her name is Kitkat because we couldn’t come up with a name and I just kept calling her kitty cat so Kitkat was born. She is the opposite of Gray and sits on her perch as if she is the Queen. But when she wants she can be nice.
What a good charity, I hope you met your goal!
I have two of my own cats. Good luck reaching your goal
Beautiful cats. I had ferals growing up, Misty and Blackie, then another in college Mischief. Now I have three silver tipped tabbies, Sappho, Isis and Osiris.
One Touch of Scandal sounds like an excellent read.
I have one spoiled cat. He is an orange domestic shorthair rescue. He was raised by 2 Golden Retriever’s and I think he thought he had to be as big as them as he is one fat cat. Now he is the ruler of the roost and help the poor soul that does not worship him prior to the dogs LOL.
I love seeing and hearing about cats so thanks for the post.
Love & Hugs,
Pam
Your Kitties are so cute! Love your books and am looking forward to reading this one. 🙂
You’re cats are sooo cute! I think it’s wonderful that you rescue cats. I rescued my cat Toby a few years ago. Now he just sits around the house tame as can be. My mom just rescued her cat from the woods by her house.
Good luck!
Love the kitty pics!!
Delilah is the queen bee of my menagerie of four. Her mother, the sweetest stray I’ve ever seen, had her and her siblings in the shed on my property. Her mom now resides with my sil and her brother with my mil and another family adopted her sister. Even though her three current siblings in residence are of the canine variety, she rules the roost. Two of the dogs are strays–one we found and one we adopted from the pound. We’ll never acquire another pet any other way.
I love the idea of this charity. More can and needs to be done for all the animals who wander around alone and unloved. They’re ALL special and deserve to be cherished. 🙂
One Touch of Scandal sounds like a fantastic book, I’m looking forward to reading it. I love the pics and descriptions of your kitties, they’re all so adorable. I’m happy my comment is going to help a cat charity, that is awesome.
Liz — congrats on the new release, it sounds great 🙂 It’s wonderful that you, Avon and everyone is helping cats in this manner. While I’m a dog person, I do think all domestic animals deserve to have homes where they are loved, cherished and cared for. They give so much, they deserve some of it back. Good luck in meeting your goals.
Karen & ladies, thanks so much for being here! No, not involved in the big lab animal bust, but if ANYONE can take one of those precious cats, Safe Haven for Cats in Raleigh has several. Not sure where the police took the dogs once they seized them.
Our feral Mary is still more or less untamed. She was obviously the runt of their litter, and just never settled like the boys have. We let her run wild in the house to her heart’s content and she does not get much vet care, but she does get her rabies which is always very traumatic. She usually pees on herself, and sometimes worse, which makes me cry. I hate to see her so frightened. Getting her spayed was a nightmare. Mary would not be a cat for most people–you can’t really pick her up, and rarely can you pet her. But we love her so much–she is just so funny and silly. And happy–oh, she is so happy. So long as she gets her way. She has what we call her little “Mary Rules.” No passing her on the staircase. No closing a door when she is in the room. No loud televisions. No watching her pee. No petting with two hands — two hands means “catching” not petting . . . LOL. She is very picky, our Princess Mary.
Congratulations on the new release and best of luck in reaching your goal.
What a great idea for this post! I adore cats, unfortunately, I’m horribly allergic to them (asthma attacks, hives, etc), so I don’t have any of my own but I keep hoping that someday, the doctors will figure out a way to get the allergies under control. Best wishes on the new release
Our cat was misidentified at the pound as a male (poor kitty). We adopted him/her anyway, and it wasn’t until we took him to be fixed that the vet determined the error. Horrors! Luckily, we had named her Mango Fango, so she kept her name even after her official sex changes: male-to-female-to-“it”.
Lately, she is a star at her new(er) vet’s office, where they all seem to love her, even though she bites, hence the Fango part of her name. Ah, well. No accounting for taste.
Congrats on the upcoming release, Liz. Your cats are adorable. I hope we can hit 400 comments.
I had a beloved Siamese hybrid once. He was the most sweetest kitty. Best wishes to Liz & the 400 comments goal.
Wonderful cause and I love the sounds of the book, all the best for its release, great cover too!
Hi Liz and Bev !!
I think this is SUCH a great purpose for a blog tour! Your cats are gorgeous and I really appreciate your efforts on behalf of rescued cats everywhere. I am owned by four rescued cats – Bagheera, Tigger, Pooh and Rebecca. And yes, Rebecca, the only female is the queen !
Can’t wait to read the newest Liz Carlyle !
We found our cat in snow storm. It was freaking cold out there and we couldn’t leave her there! Good luck with the 400 comments!
Congrats on the new release – it looks great! – and what a great idea for a blog tour! I hope you reach your goal!
What pretty kitties. And a great cause. Congrats on the new release.
Your cats are beautiful!
I hope you reach your goal.
This is great 🙂 Beautiful cats!
Liz, I’m so looking forward to this book. You’re an auto-buy for me.
I was in Boston again this weekend with my grandcat, who likes nothing better than jumping on my head when I’m sleeping. I think he thinks the guest room is his (his litterbox is in the closet and his kitty city is in the corner, so I guess it is). His name is Gizmo and he’s a handsome gray tiger. He was rescued by my daughter as a kitten six years ago, when he’d been dumped and had crawled up under her car. Fortunately she didn’t drive off with him!
Such cute kitties! And congrats on such a wonderful cover for “One Touch of Scandal”; I can’t wait to read it!
Your cats are adorable, especially Stuart with his harness.
Good luck on reaching your goal! Cat Angels sounds like a wonderful charity. Your cats are absolutely adorable in those pictures, and I loved reading about them.
I hope you reach the goal! Book sounds great, Cause sounds great….seems win-win to me!
What a wonderful thing to do. I have been working with ferals/strays for the last 15 years. This was a very bad year for me, I lost an outside feral that I’ve been caring for all those years, and then her sister that I adopted and the most heart breaking was one of their kittens that I raised with a babydoll bottle because he (and his feral mother) were covered in motor oil. He was my alpha male and only 13. I currently have 4 inside and 3 outside but I’ve found homes, had some fixed and cared for many others. I sure hope you reach your goal!
Mango Fango!! LOL. This happened to a friend of mine. His son found a stray — a little handful of fluff, half dead — and after the vet pronounced it a him, the little boy insisted on naming the cat Killer. But when they took him in to get his pom-poms cut off . . . oops. Nada. Killer was a her. A little fluffy her who never exceeded 4 pounds. So . . . Killer she still is. It’s pretty hilarious when you look at her.
Love all the cat-tales, and really love to hear about all your rescues and ferals. There is nothing like working with ferals to teach you humility and patience. To some people it sounds thankless, I know, but it is anything but. So long as you accept that the cat you get is . . . what you get. And you love it anyway, for the free spirit it is.
Thank you all so much for your kind words about the books — and for spreading the word!!! And yes, a big thanks to Avon and SEASON for setting all this up. (The $pend Avon’s Money blogathon continues across assorted venues into next week, so you guys try not to get sick of me . . . .)
Your kitties are adorable. We have one calico who is totally unconcerned with the fact that the dogs were here before her. She taught them boundaries very quickly. I hope you reach your donation goal. The book sounds wonderful. And I love your heroine’s name 😉
From one cat lady to another, I really hope you reach your goal! I have always had cats and can’t imagine life without them. Every cat deserves a happy home. Yay for you for rescuing them.
The only thing I love more than reading Liz’s books are my cats! What a fantastic cause to be supporting!
Aawweee- too cute! Congratulations on the new release, Liz – and your cats are adorable! Also, love the concept of this post. I really hope we hit the goal!
We have had many pets, out children grew up with them and now have their own.
Our first cat we got from a pound, a Christmas present for our oldest daughter. She was a rather wild little calico. Our daughter wanted to call her Angel. When I saw her climb my lace curtains and walk across the curtain rod, I convinced her Mischief was more appropriate. She lived 17 years and was a buddy to our beagle who was a year older. We gave our other daughter a sweet grey cat with white paws, Missy. She just had to have her put down. She was also 17 years old. We got her from friends on a farm. I’ll let that daughter, Erin, tell her about her cats later.
We currently have two. Scooter is an orange tabby with a little hook of a tail. Just a little kitten, he showed up at our door one evening, pawing at the window to be let in. We had just returned our first foster litter of lab mix puppies to the pound (we did foster care for about 6 years) and kept one puppy. She and the kitten grew up together and have been fast friends. Scooter is now 14. Our other cat, Conor, is a grey rumpy manx about 8 years old. These two cats are like Mutt and Jeff – Scooter is skinny and Conor’s nickname is bowling ball. He was a rescue cat taken from a bad situation and given to us to keep our terrier puppy (from our last foster litter) company.
Adopting cats (as well as dogs) from the animal shelter is a good way to go. Feeding feral cat populations is not helpful to the environment. It is much better to catch them and get them out of the “wild.” They like house cats are natural hunters. The songbird population in the US has been severely damaged by hunting pressure from feral cat populations. Disease spreads rapidly through populations. They reproduce at an surprising rate. It may seem a kindness to fee wild cats, but it really isn’t.
ONE TOUCH OF SCANDAL sounds like it will be an enjoyable read. I hope the release goes well.
Great idea to tie the release to a cat rescue/adoption program.
This is such a good idea. I hope you reach 400 comments Bev!
We rescued our cat Twylah from the alley and adopted Pixie when the owner wanted to put her to sleep. Now we have two rambunctious cats in the house and couldn’t be happier.
We have a houseful of kitties of all backgrounds and personalities. They keep us on our toes. Your kitties are all beautiful. I certainly hope you reach the 3000 comments. I know the charity could do so much good with that money. I will post this link on my Sparkpage and hopefully word will get around. Congrats on your new book. I can’t wait to read it!
Those are such beautiful cats! My daughter saved out cat from 2 boys kicking it. We had to take it to the vet and it took awhile but today you would never know he had went through that ordeal. I love reading your books and think you are a wonderful author.
My “Whiskers” has been around for about 10 years now – he certainly has a mind of his own. we also have an assortment of barn cats that live in the barn, they are great help in keeping the mice population away.
Great cause and I’m looking forward to the new book.
This is for my daughter Rebecca who live in North Carolina.
My first cat Mischief died when I was in college. After graduation when I had a job and my own place, I got another cat. A friend found a few tiny kittens abandoned by the road. I took one. He is at least part Maine Coon and a beautiful big boy. He is very shy and doesn’t like strangers of any sex or men, except for my husband and one gay friend. He loves to snuggle with me. He was great company when I was single and is still my big boy. He loves to sit on the screened in porch and watch the squirrels and birds.
Both my cats were rescue cats. The animal shelters receive more cats every year than they can possibly place with loving homes. My mom’s local shelter gets 90 animals a week during “peak season.” This isn’t a large town. There is no way that many can be placed. Be a responsible pet owner. Have your pets spayed and neutered. The last thing we need are more cats to find homes for or to be left to run loose.
Thanks for promoting this worthy cause.
I did one elkhound rescue before my kids were born, and I know first-hand how hard it is to re-home pets, so keep up the good work, Cat Angels!! Love you, Liz!
Great idea to do this! I have 2 cats from Toronto Cat Rescue and although brother and sister have completely different personalities. The female is fluffy grey and the male is a black smoke tabby. Love your rescue cats, so nice to give these cats the loving and safe homes they deserve.
Great idea! I have 2 cats from Toronto Pet Rescue, brother and sister, a fluffy grey female and black smoke tabby male. Love your cats, so nice to find loving homes for all the unwanted cats who need our love and care.
This is a followup to my Mom’s post.
We live in the country just up the road from my parents. When we got our house I had one cat, Missy, that my parents gave me. We now have about 20 cats. Not really by choice. One summer about 3 years ago, I had 5 or 6 pregnant cats decide my barn was a good place to have their kittens. We never found the owners of any of them. Some were most certainly feral cats. You couldn’t get near them or their kittens. Those two litters we captured and brought to the animal shelter. The last thing the area needed was a dozen more wild cats killing birds and reproducing. We ended up with 20 cats that summer. We took about a dozen in to have them spayed, not something I could afford, but a local vet worked with me and gave me a discount. We had another female show up this summer and she was pregnant. She had 6 lovable kittens. They go in this week to be spayed and neutered.
Unfortunately, there are too many irresponsible pet owners. They let their animals run free, don’t get them fixed, and don’t keep them current on their shots. I love my animals (I have more than just cats) but I certainly don’t need any more showing up on my doorstep. It is expensive to take care of them properly.
Good luck with the release of your new book. Thank you for supporting cat adoptions.
Congratulations on the new release. This charity is wonderful and I think it is great that you are involved and have adopted your own rescue pets. Good luck with your goal.
Do good and perhaps you get a book. Win Win.
Amen, Rebecca. Spay and neuter is the KEY. It should be the law, IMHO. Sadly, North Carolina has some of the most worthless laws in the nation when it comes to animal welfare. It is one of the few things we have to be ashamed of in this otherwise great state.
Once again, thank you all — and thank AVON — for supporting this great cause.
I love the name ‘Stuart’ for a cat, since it’s been associated with a mouse for so long. Very funny.
Good on you for promoting this cause, and congrats on your new release.
We have two cats. We got Fuzzy from the SPCA mom wanted an orange tiger cat and found him. She wanted at kitten but once she seen him there was no doubt he was the cat. He was older when she got him nevertheless he is a kitten if not more playful then one. Its been three years since she has had him and they are two peas in a pod. Congrats on your new release.
What a wonderful idea this is! And I love the cute cats that are pictured!
Liz, your new book ONE TOUCH OF SCANDAL looks really good.(Beautiful cover.)
I really enjoyed reading this blog!
No need to enter my name in this contest…I just wanted to help with the cause by commenting. This is a great idea to raise money and awareness for this charity.
Liz I can’t wait to read your new book.
This is great idea to raise charity. and please enter me in the giveaway 🙂
Hi Liz, Your cats are beautiful. I adopted two brothers that look a lot like your Elliot. They’re great, first they were really shy and scared but slowly they grown confident and happy to have a home. It’s amazing how much love and affection cats bring into your life. Your new book sounds great btw.
We have had so many rescued stray cats in our lives and they are wonderful worthwhile pets. I am pleased to support Cat Angels!
We got both our cats a little over two years ago from the pound. We went there to get one kitten and brought our daughter and her friend who were both in college. They were so upset at how many kittens were there that they begged us to get a second kitten which we did. I had never had a kitten and couldn’t believe how much trouble they could get into. Congratulations on the new book!
I am really intrigued by the name Lucifer and his dark past and dark society…quite the foreshadowing!
Kudos, Liz! What a wonderful cause! All cats are special. I adopted two from shelters here in VA. They are my angels. I wouldn’t have missed this post for the world. I look forward to reading SCANDAL.
This is a wonderful idea! Too bad I have no cats but I just adore their arrogance and I especially envy their idolent nature =)
Awesome cause! Thank you for doing this!
our three cats, Misty, Calico, Gabriel have all passed on; the third one at 13 years. they were such good company to my daughter and i!
What a fantastic idea! Thank you for so generously helping out our feline friends!
This is a great idea! I have 4 cats…..3 rescues and 1 that came from the vet’s office because no one wanted her. I don’t know what I would do without my furry friends!

Happy to help raise funds for the furfaces! I have three of my own that are angels. 😉
Love my cats Lola and Noel
I have one cat, his name is Grimalkin. He IS the love of my life. I never owned (or should I say he owns me) a cat before. He was the runt of a litter someone dropped off in front of a pet store. He thinks he’s the Alpha when him and the dog want my attention. And I hate to admit he always wins. He talks with me, follows me, and cuddles every time I sit down. I had him fixed and wish that everyone showed responsibility when getting an animal. If more people did we wouldn’t have so many feral cats.
These cats have a hard life unless they can be saved by a loving soul. Never give up on one of them because they may have to much fear to be touched and loved, but you can set food out for them, a box to keep them warm from the elements etc. I have feed many feral cats and even had one finally except me to where he would come on my porch and scratch on the door for food, and he broke into my home once through an open window when no one was home. No damage, no harm. Give, Love and fix your animals so that we can try to lessen the number of cats out there who have no one to show them love and warmth~
Wow..kinda different but for a good cause anyways..anything foe my dear feline lovers :))
I’m a dog person myself (a rescued fur-baby!) but I’m a softie for animals in need of all types…what a great way to celebrate the release and support a great cause
I have two cats and two dogs, all four from our local shelter. I’ve volunteered there for 4 years now and I have experienced all the ups and downs of it all. My life wouldn’t be the same without my animals, and I always try to lend a helping hand when I can. I hope this comment helps raise money for all the animals!
We got our cat at the NSPCA and he was just a long skinny thing then. He came with the name Hobbes and that seemed good enough (although it turns out he got his brother Calvin’s microchip). Now he is about a meter in length from nose to tail tip when he stretches out and he’s grown to 15 lbs! He loves to be involved with the family, even at dinner time, but he’s not a meat eater despite his ancestry. We have a vegetarian cat who doesn’t like catnip; go figure!
I’m more of a dog person myself but i love all animals
My two shelter cats say thank you!
I’m a dog person, but I think all pets deserve to be happy and healthy, and have a loving home.
Great Idea and Great Cause!! We have 2 dogs and 2 cats and they all have had their “standing in society” changed. Our vet’s unique way of putting things when it comes time to fix them! I wish there were more vets that would give a discounted price to take care of this issue…….. maybe we wouldn’t have so many unwanted/stray animals running around, getting hit by cars, etc………..
This is an awesome charity! Hope you reach your goal!
Great cause…good luck with your goal…. 🙂
This is a great cause, good luck with everything
Cats with dog-like personalities are kind of the best of both worlds. We had one for fifteen wonderful years, and I’ll miss that boy forever. Now I have a very small dog that thinks he’s a cat, thanks to our two kitties (neighborhood strays snapped up by us as soon as we could lure them into our garage) who have trained him well in the past year.
Great cause! We had to put down one of our shelter cats this weekend after 13 long, love-filled years. Once the sadness wears off a bit, I’m sure we’ll be back in our local shelter rescuing another.
Wonderful cause! One of my cats is from a foster home and he’s absolutely wonderful. I wouldn’t get a cat from a pet store anymore. Good luck with this!
Congrats on the upcoming release! One more day!!! Thank you for using this opportunity to help Rescue Cats! Awesome cause. Save 2 lives, adopt!!!
Oh how wonderful! I wish i could give multiple comments so that the cats could get multiple dollars. ^^
Love your cats! Mine is a rescue and she is adorable! Also Love the names Silk and Satin for cats…will check out your book, too, Liz!
Congratulations on the new release! And thank you for aiding this charity and adopting rescued cats. I wish more pet owners would do the responsible thing and spay and neuter the cats they allow to wander outside. The no-kill shelters here are overflowing and have to turn cats and kittens away; and some of the other shelters supposedly euthanize up to 80 percent of the animals brought in. This was such a great idea. I hope you reach your goal!
Congratulations! Great idea on linking blogging and the charity!
What a great idea!
Great idea! I have two rescues of my own and a stray outside that I’m trying to get to trust me because I have someone who wants her. 🙂 What a good charity. I hope this does really well!
Great cause, who can resist the little kitties!!
This is awesome, I hope the max # of posts is reached!
Tigger is my oldest kitty and even though he was a feral kitten when we got him, he has turned in to a mellow guy who loves attention. Phoenix was the last kitten in someone’s “oops” litter and he was so outgoing and dog friendly that we had to take him home the day we saw him in the Free to Good Home box while we were out shopping… I admit we are suckers for the last one left, that is how Kodi our oldest dog joined the family too. Finally, there is Moe, our Maine Coon mix. He is by far our biggest cat but he doesn’t like confrontation, even playful, from the other kitties. He is really a people cat and loves to snuggle, but beware he’s a drooler LoL.
What a wonderful idea and cause!!! I hope a gazillion people post!
Congratulations on your book release.
I love cats. This is a wonderful thing to do. I have always had one in my life until the past 4 years. My baby of 21 yrs left me then and hubby doesn’t want any pets for a little while.
Thank you for doing this, Liz! It’s a wonderful cause 🙂
Liz! What a great idea! I have a sweet little calico named Zoe, and I can’t imagine life without her. In the evenings she comes and snuggles on my lap while I read a book or watch a movie. Speaking of books – I can’t wait to read your newest. Good luck with the fundraiser! xoxo
We have three rescues – one from a shelter and two ferals rescued from our neighborhood and rehabilited.
Cool cause, I love cats.
You have some seriously cute cats! Congratulations on the new book. I look forward to reading it. Thank you (and Avon) for doing this amazing fundraiser for the cats.
Already preordered for my kindle and waiting for download!!!!
What a fantastic cause! Thanks for holding this event, we just rescued a stray this weekend and he’s already taken over the house.
Wonderful Cause!! Cats are great companions and I love them dearly!!
Thanks for setting this up as a way to let us help out!
Congrats on your book release, and much hope that you reach your goal of 3,000 comments!!!
Congratulations on the new release! I have two rescue cats myself, one from a friend-of-a-friend who was finding homes for the kittens of a feral cat, and the other I found at 5 weeks, motherless and living in ivy. They are my “kids” and I adore them…and support any and all charities that help place rescued animals!
What a wonderful way to start a blogathon! It’s a wonderful cause!
I have two beloved kitties sharing my life. One is a red tabby given to me by a friend of my mom’s who couldn’t keep her. The second – a calico – is from a rescue group. I love and adore them both and couldn’t imagine life with out them.
Thanks for highlighting a kitty cause!
We have 3 rescued cats and I can’t imagine our lives without them. What a wonderful, generous gesture and I hope you raise a ton of money! 🙂
I am a dog person but I like animals so I suport your efforts. Your new book sounds really good and one I am looking forward to reading.
Liz, I’m looking forward to your new book. I’ve read all your books and enjoyed them. Your cat Elliot looks just like our cat named Ashton. He was a stray that we took in and we had never had a cat before. He turned out to be the best cat ever!
Congratulations on the release of your new book! I have 4 cats whom I love dearly. I love cats so much that I have my own cat sitting business! I have great clients and lots of “Furry Friends”. I’ve rescued a few cats over the years….kept some and found some forever homes. Thank you to you and your publisher for supporting a no-kill cat shelter!
Already downloaded to my Kindle! 🙂
Liz,
This is a great cause. My baby was a rescue kitty. She and her litter were found in a dumpster. I’m so honored she chose me as her human pet. After reading the blurb, I’ll be looking for this book when I hit the book store this week. I enjoy a good action packed adventure and this seems to be exactly what a rainy week needs> Awesome.
Nan
One Touch of Scandal sounds delish! Congratulations on the release!
I have a cat that looks very much like your Elliot. He’s a loving guy but a bit timid. We got him as an adult and he flinches when we move too fast but he’ll sit in our laps for hours if we let him. I love all my cats and their various personalities. I agree with you about the rewards of adopting feral cats. We now have two of those, both female, and just seeing them grow accustomed to safety and love warms my heart.
A wonderful cause! Happy sales!
Great review and great cause. Congrats on your release.
Lovely kitties! We have one that loves everyone and doesn’t understand personal space, too. The first cat I ever had was rescued from the middle of a busy highway, another was rescued from a dumpster and several others have been from the Humane Society.
cant wait to read
This is a wonderful idea thank you for doing it.
Your book sounds very good too.
Hugs penney
What a great cause. Thanks for the information. I like animals and support them as much as I can.
Liz, what a wonderful idea. Your cats are gorgeous. I bet they keep you on your toes. 🙂
We have two boys – Tiger, a slim tabby we got as a kitten (with a killer instinct ~sigh~), and Bob – a semi-feral stray. Bob has behavioural issues and we think he was taken from his mum too early, and his owners then didn’t know how to deal with him. He’s the most gorgeous fluffy bundle.
I wish you much success with your new novel and your cat charity work.
Aww! I have a soft spot for kitties. Sadly, my hubby does not like them and says “No”. Plus there is a fact that well my weiner dogs, especially the male, would have loads of fun chasing them. But this is a wonderful idea!
Saw the link posted on Facebook, & just had to help the kitties!! What a wonderful idea…
Wow, this is an amazing turnout. Thank you all.
Oh what a awesome idea. I loooooveee cats. we use to have a black one with a little white under his chin Jax was his name.. I miss him soo much.. I have to say don’t overlook a black cat they are awesome to have and me I’d rather have a black cat but I’m a softy to all cats. Just ask my neighbor down the road from me with her 20 cats and counting.. We mostly take care (I should I mostly) of the animals, reptiles and anything that doesn’t freak me out too much 🙂 gets a rub or morsel from me.
I hope this reaches its goal I will post this to my facebook like Delilah.. Thanks dear for sharing it with me.
I love all things CAT! All our cats are rescues… I actually harbor a dream of having a choice someday about what color cat I get…. until then the cat-gods keep giving them to me as they come ;o)
I’m excited about the new book! I’ll be in the book section of Target tomorrow for sure.
This is a wonderful idea and I am proud to participate. I have one very special kitty, Tabitha, who adores children and loves to cuddle.
Hi Liz. Your cats are adorable. Congrats on your new book. Sounds great.
I like the once great cat love Pamela Mason have three cats with change of costumes (in my state three is the legal limit). Much success to you charity and book – just got an email from Amazon my copy is in the mail – can’t wait. LOL
YAY for the kitties ~~ wonderful cause!! Love your cats!!
I’m all for the kitties too. 😀 Great cause Liz.
Great cause and what is no doubt a great book. Can’t wait to read it!
Thanks Avon and Liz!
Sarah
To help the helpless is a blessing….I have two
We got our cat at a shelter also in order to save her. Your cats are adorable. Hope you make the magic number for the charity!
adding my comment for a worthy cause : )
I am picking up my copy of One Touch of Scandal this evening, can’t wait to read Liz’s latest release.
POSTED
LOVE the idea
Wonderful cause! =D Hope there are a bunch of people that post!
Love the cats. I have several, that I rescued. Thanks for supporting such a worthy cause.
What a wonderful blog–and a great idea! Of course I can’t resist posting. Your cats are adorable.
Viki and everyone who has lost a beloved fur baby, so very sorry. It is so nice to hear all the great comments and stories about your cats. My Elliot is sitting here on my desk watching me type and nagging me to go downstairs and fix a snack. Stuart just stole a piece of cheese from my late lunch. Ah, well. They are so worth it!
This is great, Liz, and your book sounds wonderful. But your books always are. Can’t wait to pick it up!
~D~
This is a fantastic idea.
Good cause. I hope you get more thab 400. The book sounds great.

What a wonderful way to help out the kitties!!!!! I miss my two! They were born in my lap!
Great cause, great book cover and blurb! Good luck with sales and donations!
While I don’t have cats, I do have two rescue dogs, and the fewer homeless pets there are, the better. Good luck with this, and with your release. It sounds wonderful!
What a great cause.. What a great book… Lots of greatness. It’s really swell of Avon to do this (and you Bev, for hosting and matching if we get to 400). Yay for animals.. (and Aww at Pelham and Mary!!! chunky wonkies!)
-Can’t wait for the book! It looks like it’ll have lots of intrigue and lots of steam.. two wonderful elements! I am officially reeled in!! lol
Let’s hear it for the kitties – what a great cause!
How great to get Avon’s support! All of our cats over the years have been strays or were otherwise not wanted until we took them in. The one kitty we adopted from a shelter still thinks the world is out to get him, even though he’s been with us three happy, peaceful years and he was only 12 weeks old when we got him. I shudder to think what he must have been through so young.
awww..those cats are very cute!
It is such a very good cause – I will post on as many blogs and websites as possible to ensure more money for rescue animals.
I love the kitties. We have five at our house. Evee is from the animal shelter. Ecco belonged to someone who was moving home and couldn’t keep her. She was pregnant when she arrived and we found homes for all the kittens.
The other three belonged to cats of us who are no longer with us.
I love cats! My special baby is Jocelyn. She begs for people food from my father.
I’ve never been a cat person, always preferring dogs. My youngest found a kitten 3 years ago and of course we had to keep it. And of course she was pregant. I’ll have to admit that she is the sweetest thing, letting him hold her in awkward positions and never popping at him. She lives on the front porch and our lab lives in the back yard.
Congratulations on your latest release, Liz! What adorable kitties you have! One of mine is very dog-like in nature–she fetches and has even started “barking” lately. Our other cat was a stray from the bush, who very quickly became adapted to plush indoor living.
What a fantastic cause!
I support any charity that focuses on helping and caring for animals!! I’m a big pet-lover and I believe that animals need us to love & protect them. This is a great cause and I hope you reach your goal 😀
I love my kitty and love to support any charity that focuses on animals! This is such a great cause and a fantastic way to celebrate the release of something else we all love – books!
Beautiful! I love the idea of having the donations to your favorite charity! I, too, have adopted cats from shelters as well as “saved” a couple of feral cats. One of the smartest cats we’ve saved was a little feral black kitten…chasing moths in a Winn Dixie parking lot. She is amazing!!
Also, your new book sounds fabulous and I love the title and book cover!! I wish you great success!!
What a fantastic cause! Cat-lovers are good people.
Great idea! I love cats so much.
A fantastic cause!! Retweeted it! I hope you reach your goal of getting to 400!!
If my son weren’t allergic, we’d get a kitty. I still miss Meatloaf who was my pet for 15 years.
I will live through others when it comes to cats. The double T’s are allergic so I can’t have any.
Good luck to Cat Angels! What a great opportunity to share your passions – cats AND romance. Good luck to you Sis.
Liz,
I love your novels and I’m glad you and Avon are supporting such sweet creatures.
We have five furry children. All have been shelter or dumped kitties. Each one a character; each one a love.
Thanks for helping those less fortunate.
Liz has picked a worthy charity and I hope they get every single one of Avon’s $3000. 🙂
Go girl – we know all about feral cat rescue. We have two that we wouldn’t trade for lap cats.
Great cover Liz! And great cause! Good luck!
Well done. Fantastic cause.
I’m so happy to help you with your charity, Liz. What a great cause! I have a 12-year-old feral cat that has never socialized, but I’m still glad we got her off the streets and can give her some creature comforts. We rescued another kitten from the shelter and she follows me from room to room and thinks I’m the greatest thing in the world (she’s so wise!). Our third cat is a purebred, but all three are equally spoiled rotten.
Can’t wait to read the book. Not only do I love Liz’s books, I love books with cats in them.
Wonderful cause. I love cats!! I have three beautiful, mischievous boys myself.
Cats need all the angles they can get. And they need a place to congregate…seems to be my back patio.
Gotta’ love ’em and gotta’ feed ’em.
Thanks Avon for helping!
Yea, a fellow animal rescuer! Lovely.
What a great idea! =)
I always thought I was a dog person…until I rescued a cat. We now have 2. Meeko and Tink. Luv the charity, keep up the good work!
Definitely a good cause. Larissa Ione posted this and I had to come help em out. We saved my adorable Siamese from the kill shelter near us, Lollypop Farm. The lady who had her was going to put her there b/c goofy Khloe likes birds too much and was attempting to eat her fellow pets. So now she terrorizes my dog and my stepsons dog as well. But any animal needs a home. Definitely a good cause!!!
We have a kitty we rescued right off the street, and his (late) sister came to us via PetSmart and a cat rescue agency (plus one my heroes is basically a big pussycat—werelion—rescued by the heroine), so I’ll happily help take Avon’s money for such a a great cause! Thanks Liz, and best of luck getting to that 400 comment level here at the Season.
What a wonderful idea and cause! I have to laugh because this is happening on the same day as our cat is having kittens! She just finished delivering 4 happy little fur balls!
Liz, your books sounds delightful and I can’t wait to read it!
What a wonderful idea! Ossie and Fee send their thanks to LC and Avon! Cats rock!
What an awesome idea! I’m going to definitely check this charity out as well as your book. I have two cats of my own that I love dearly.
What a fantastic cause! My kitty was a stray. He mother abandoned him at 2 weeks so I decided to bottle feed him until he was big enough for me to find him a home. That was 5 years ago and now he kicks me off my own pillow every night 🙂
This is a great idea, I am a cat person 1,000% 😀
We rescued our Max (who happens to look a lot like your Elliot) a year ago at Christmas from our local SPCA and to be honest I can’t imagine him not being a part of our family! He is the most amazing cat, even our dog loves him, they are the best of buddies!
This is an awesome cause!! 🙂
It’s great that Avon is supporting this. I can’t think of nothing better than sitting in a cozy chair, reading a regency romance while you pet your cat. Sadly, I’m allergic otherwise I would love a kitty. But at least, I can still get my romances and the cozy chair.
This is a great idea. I’ve had cats all my life. Most have been cats that others haven’t wanted(their loss). Thanks Liz and looking forward to reading your book.
What a wonderful way to help our little companions! Wishing you many sales!
I love that you and Avon are doing this. I hope you get all 3000 comments!
Awww such cute kittehs!
Awww…sweet kitties. 🙂 There are so many waiting for their forever homes in shelters.
What a great cause. Makes me want to squeeze my kitties. I’m off to tell everyone I know to come comment.
I have a niece cat so am all for the cause. I am allergic too but played with kitties on the farm growing up.
Thanks for doing this. Cats have special souls that help bring love to so many!
I love cats! Have two rescue kitties, and hope this comment helps send a dollar to help more…
Sam
Great cause!!
I’m allergic to cats but I do have one. Great cause!
In memory of Milly and Dewey (aka Mildew), Frodo, Natalie (Natty-cat-kitty-cow) and Yo-Yo-Yogi would like to say “HOORAY” for rescue organizations like Cat Angels. Their good friend “The Great Pissing Pumpkin” would share the sentiment. And from Sara and Aaron, the dogs who DO get along with cats, best wishes in the quest to exceed your goal! We love you, Liz!
It is great to help out any animal kitties or doggies or birdies any animal that needs rescue.
This is a great way to help. Thanks for the opportunity.
I’ll definitely comment for kitties! I have three kittens myself.
I’m a cat lover from years back. I broke my leg recently and have been laid up in the hospital for almost a month. Of all the things I’m missing, it’s my two cats that I’m missing the most. I miss the way they take about 20 minutes to find the exact spot on me that they want, curl up and then purr themselves to sleep.
*heavy sigh*
But since I’m getting out on Wednesday, I’ll be able to see them then.
Support a charity for cats AND a chance to win One Touch of Scandal? Count me in! Also, three cheers to Avon and Liz Carlyle for such a wonderful idea. Best of luck! =)
I love kitties where else can you get attitude and unconditional love in one place !! Thank you for caring enough to help the animals with out owners !!
Always willing to help out animals!! Plus to get the chance at some romance, even vicariously, is worth a comment or two!
Everybody knows I love the kitties! Count me in, Liz! Saw the new book at our Wal-Mart today and it looks great 🙂
I do my best for my furry friends. Every little bit helps.
From someone who lives with 7 rescues… Thank you for doing this..
Liz, Avon, and The Season… you all are fantastic 🙂
I’m such a sucker for cats, mine runs our house like you wouldn’t believe. She is the princess, and even the dogs bow down to her awsomeness. 🙂
What a great idea! My two are the result of a feral mamma cat taken in by my father and I couldn’t ask for two better companions… aren’t all kitties angels 😉 ???
What a wonderful cause. My family are animal lovers and have 3 cats of our own, plus 2 dogs.
Wonderful charity and you’ve made it very easy to contribute!
Both of my cats were free kittens at one time or another. My sister and I couldn’t help ourselves, and we’ve made good homes for them. Bless those who take in these poor animals…
I tried to have one inside and outside cat, but… Either Mamma was ferel or someone knew I’m a sucker, Mamma was preggers. I have seven babies.
yay for the kitties 🙂
thanks for doing this Liz, its great!
Love the synopsis. Props for combining that with the opportunity to help a charity!
Great idea! Great cause!
I love kitties! This is a great idea! 🙂
Wow, sounds like a great book and a great cause. Can’t go wrong:-)
This is such a great idea. Thank you for helping cats! Mine have given me many, many hours of happiness over the years. 🙂
yay…your more than 1/2 way there!!!!!
Love my cat, he was a rescue.. Happy to comment!!
This is a great idea. Rescue cats are the best and deserve all the help we can give them!!
This is an awesome idea for a wonderful cause! I’m happy to comment.
I’m looking forward to “One Touch of Scandal” too! 🙂
What a wonderful idea! Minnaloushe, our very neurotic but learning to be normal ocicat gives you all a shout-out from New Zealand and hopes you reach your target number of comments!
We love cats in Australia, too.
And can’t wait to read One Touch of Scandal.
Suzi
I don’t have a cat myself & we’ve always had dogs, my dad being a dog person; but I do like cats.
Any cause for any animal is worth supporting!
I’m all about the kittehs! Kitteh power people, kitteh power. Rescued my cat from being Colorado Coyote kibble and he rocks. I lubs him!
I have a kitten of my own…Ares appropriately named I might add…he loves to create mayhem.
Rescued both cats and dogs…they are the best but don’t let them hear it…it goes to their heads.
Yay for rescue kitties 🙂
Such a great thing to help the fur babies! I couldn’t live without my cat, who is my daily writing buddy. And love the cover and the blurb!
hiya i will leave a comment, anything to do with cats is a good cause, i own two but would love more lol.
Excellent cause!! I have become such a cat person in the last few years thanks to a special Oriental Shorthair we found in the dumpster, rescued and made our little princess.
Kittiesssss!!!!!
I too love cats. My cat plus one other were dropped in our yard without front claws and had been neutered. My guess is the owner couldn’t keep them ? so decided to find them new homes. Fortunately both were lucky. Good luck with your book and this wonderful cause.
My mom and I were always rescuing stray animals off the street! I’ve stopped traffic on a highway, carried food and a leash in my trunk, etc. My three cats were from my yard (I finally caught momma cat and had her spayed). I hope you reach your goal!
We’ve had cats for over 40 years…all strays or from the shelter. I remember my Mom saying “don’t feed that cat it’ll never leave”. She was right. LOL That cat was probably the nicest one we ever had. Mom kept it when I left home.
Karen D, your 12-yr old sounds like our Mary! Somedays it’s like living with a wild squirrel in the house. But she is happy. I worry, though, about when she is older and needs more vet care.
What a wonderful thing Harper Collins-Avon Books is doing for Cat Angels!
Great cause. Cats have such individual personalities, they crack me up. =)
What a great cause. Cats are so incredibily smart and each has it’s own personality. I miss my pet “Peeve” terribly. Everyone laughed about his name but he was truly our pet peeve and he was so loved.
Ah kitties. No end of amusement when it comes to those felines. But there’s one cat I love best and that is Catwoman. She would highly approve of this initiative! 😀
Yay for kitties! They bring so much joy to our lives. We had a cat named Chloe for 8 years, who passed away last year. We just adopted a new cat this summer named Gabriel, and he is like a little human. We just love him to pieces. I am always glad to help any cause that works to support our furry friends.
great cause!!!
what a great thing to do. We have three kitties that we have adopted and we absolutely love them.
great cause, happy to do my part! good luck.
How awesome for the kitties =)..I have taken in many rescues, and 5 of them are mine now, and I could not picture my life without them..and my dogs!
What a great cause!
Animals, expecially dogs are the true angels on Earth…always a great cause…
I love Liz Carlyle’s books; it’s good to hear that she’s a good person too. Here’s my comment for the cause!
great stuff, count me in!
This is such a fun, and worthy, cause! Thanks for making the cat rounds, Liz.
Aww, those cats are darling. Thank you for having this great promotion to help kitties!
What a fantastic cause! 🙂 Yay for helping the kitties!! 🙂
I’d love to post for this, because feline rescue is an issue near and dear to my heart. 15 years ago we adopted a cat born from a feral litter. He was the only one who survived due to the callous rifle-wielding family whose backyard he had the bad luck to be born in. A year later Muffin came to us, found by hubby’s father begging for bread balls at the duck pond. A year after that we found a litter living in a refuse pile behind an empty corporate building and kept sisters Samurai and Sherkahn after adopting out the rest. Sadly we’re now down to one, Sherkahn, who is going on 16 and is almost completely blind. I’m always happy to meet another cat lover and friend of the pound.
Oh, I love kitties and any charities that help animals! I have two kitties of my own, Miss Priss and Babe, that love to sit in my lap when I read! Not to mention keep me warm on these cool fall days, hehe!
Congrats on your new release, Liz!
Have to help our furry friends… Kudos to Avon for helping out, too 🙂
Leigh
Fantastic cause. I love that you are doing this donation it says a lot about you as a person.
Congrats on the release it sounds like a great book.
A very worthy cause!!! Loved the pics. Soooo adorable!
Liz, thank you for sharing the pictures and stories about your 4 cats: Elliot, Pelham, Mary, and Stuart. I really enjoyed them and think this is a very worthwhile cause.
In regards to your book, One Touch of Scandal, I absolutely loved the cover. The story about Grace and Ruthveyn sounds wonderful! I love your books and can’t wait to read this one.
Please enter me into your drawing. Thanks and good luck for your cause.
This is such a worthy cause! I am a big cat lover and have two wonderful cats that my husband and I absolutely adore. The newest member is a tabby we found on a side road on our way home a year ago. She was sitting in the middle of the road, sleeping next to a mud puddle that we assume she was staying near for the water. My husband pulled over and picked her up and when he gave her to me she cuddled close in my shoulder and won my heart. She was wet, hungry and sick and we took her into our home and it was the best thing we ever did. She has given us such joy and love and our 15 year old male cat took to her right away and the two have become inseperable. Every one that visits us takes to her as she has such a beautiful and loving personality. I can not think of a better cause as cats can bring such joy to a household. I also want to add that I love your books and am looking forward to reading One Touch of Scandal.
Love Liz’s books! And this is such a great cause!
Liz:
Congratulations on the new book! I love your novels they are great. Your kitties are beautiful, but my love is Stuart. He is my boyfriend. Love.
As a fellow saver of lost, abused or abandoned cats (up to 6 now). I find homes for any others I come across. I am looking forward to yer cause making its goal. I have been reading romance books since high school and thats a long time(not saying). I love yer books hope I see alot more .
Oh, my, Joan Osborne has me a verklempt. We have a lovely male cat that came meowing up to us outside a restaurant one dark autumn evening. He was about 4 or 5 months old at the time, pure black, and a few yards from a busy highway. I scooped him up without even thinking about it, and he’s been ours ever since. Refuses to go outside because he *knows* how bad it is out there. Thanks to Liz, Avon, and The Season for arranging for other sweet kitties to sleep indoors in safety.
Great cause. Thanks for helping the defenseless.
What lovely kitties!
Anything to help the kitties!!! Go Avon!
There’s no love like the love you get from an adopted pet. What a great charity!
Liz, best wishes with your new book! Thanks, Avon, for this great sponsorship idea.
I thought I was the only one who took my cat for walks on a leash!
Your new book sounds great, Liz!
And this sponsorship idea is wonderful – thank you to you and Avon!
🙂
Sharon
Even though I don’t have a cat, I love them. I think it is wonderful when anyone tries to help the less fortunate, 2 legs or 4. A big Huzzah for you, as my oldest son would say.
Love your kitties! My Miri was a pound kitty who has some very “dog” habits. She, too, goes outside on her harness with supervision (and sometimes tries to sneak out with out it, but she’s very good about letting me catch her!). Of course, she’s a tortie, so that might have something to do with it, too! It was nice getting to meet your kitty krew!
This is a wonderful cause. I’m definitely doing my part in contributing since I’m an animal lover.
An animal lover myself, glad to help!
Liz,
What a wonderful thing you are doing. Love your books……..am now reading WICKED ALL DAY. Enjoyed the pictures of your cats. We have four including “Sassy”…….now I wonder how she got that name!!!
Hey Liz!
Love the cat pictures! Notice Pelham and Mary aka Satin and Silk got a place in Lord Ruthveyn’s bed. I have feral cats all around my house since I live near the City College campus in my city and it is (sadly) a drop off point for unwanted kittens. Though the cats won’t let us get near them, they come to us to complain when things are not going their way (that @@##$%$%!!! Tom did it to me again!) at which point I tell them if I could only catch them instead, they might at least not have to worry about having more kittens since we spay and neuter all we can catch. Oh, well.
I read One Touch of Scandal and loved it! It combines the swirling emotionalism and murderous plotting of two of my favorite of your books: A Woman Scorned and No True Gentleman. Of course, what am I saying, all of your books are favorites. And I have read them all, several times. Can hardly wait for the next one. I have to wait until 2011? Oh, please!
You are doing such a great thing. Good luck raising truck loads of money!
Than you Avon!
I love it when posts like this come up! What a great cause.
Great idea to raise money!
Love your books Liz, love this cause too!
I’m not a romance book lover. I run away from them. However what Avon and other romance book bloggers are doing is wonderful. Someone’s gotta help those cute furbabies! kudos to you guys for helping such a wonderful charity.
I’m gonna go hug kitties now.
What a wonderful idea! Almost every writer I know has a kitteh. I have a dog, but he thinks he’s a kitteh, so it counts.
Come on everyone! Keep commenting for the kitties!
Another comment for the cats!
I saw a ferrell kittie in the parking garage at Chippenham and fed it my chicken salad. Hope more people donate to the cause.
I rescued my two kitties from a local shelter and have never regretted it. Like yours, one of mine also has an amazingly dog-like personality and is such a people cat he drive our friends nuts – especially those with allergies 😉 Thanks for putting kitty rescue out there!
I have feral’s in our neighborhood and they break my heart so much! Thanks for sharing your beauties Liz, Pelham, Elliot, Mary and Stuart have no idea how really lucky they are out of millions of animals like them they lucked out and found a wonderful loving home!
Here is hoping for 400 and more comments for this cause close to cat lovers hearts everywhere!
I have one “rescued” from shelter and one from our neighborhood and they both are without measure wonderful additions to our lives….
jackie ^_^
