Is it just me, or do the contemporary romance offerings just get better and better every month? I’ve read several fantastic novels coming out this month, and there are others I can’t wait to read.

Here are my top picks for the end of October and November.

Real Men Will by Victoria Dahl

(released by HQN on October 25)

Eric Donovan intrigued me throughout the first two novels in this series (Good Girls Don’t and Bad Boys Do). He’s uptight and tries to micro-manage his younger siblings lives. How do you make such a man sexy? By putting him in Victoria Dahl’s capable hands. In Real Men Will, Eric develops into one of my favorite romance heroes of 2011.

Until There Was You by Kristan Higgins

(released by HQN on October 25)

Kristan Higgins’s characters, communities and families never fail to warm my spirits. Until There Was You features a woman who fell in love with a bad boy who broke her heart—but not in the usual way—when they were in high school. Now he’s back in town with a teenage daughter to keep away from bad boys and Posey can’t keep herself from falling for him all over again.

I’m interviewing Kristan Higgins on my blog on November 7, and she’ll be giving away a copy of Until There Was You.

All They Need by Sarah Mayberry

(released by Harlequin Superromance on November 1)

I haven’t read this one yet but Sarah Mayberry is one of my all-time favorite writers. I don’t read many category romance novels (mostly because it’s so costly to have them shipped to Europe), but I would happily part with some of my pension to read Sarah Mayberry’s novels.

I’ll be interviewing Sarah Mayberry and she’ll be giving away All They Need on my blog on November 21, so mark your calendars.

In Close by Brenda Novak

(released by Harlequin Mira on October 18)

The final novel in Brenda Novak’s Bulletproof series left me breathless. The series starts with the Prison-Break-style INSIDE but the last in the romantic suspense series shifts focus to a decades-old missing persons case in a small town. The heroine is a woman who has never stopped searching for her mother, but when she stumbles across old case files she needs the help of her old flame to help her survive her own investigation.

I’m interviewing Brenda Novak on my blog on November 14 and she’ll give away a copy of In Close.

  1. I’m actually looking forward to All They Need and In Close…I still have to get them. I did get a copy of Drink Deep by Chloe Neill which I am really looking forward to reading.

  2. I didn’t know about the new Sarah Mayberry book coming out soon. Thanks! And I’m also looking forward to Higgins’
    “Until There Was You”.

  3. Until There Was You and The Next Always. Other new releases have caught my eye so much that I have to go back and start with the first book of the series.

  4. Until There Was You and In Close were on my list. Would love to read Victoria Dahl’s book, but haven’t been able to get the first two yet.

  5. I’m looking forward to reading The Black Hawk by Joanna Bourne. It’s the fourth book in a series and features Adrian, a British spy, falling in love with Justine, his French counterpart. The story takes place during the French Revolution. I was also looking forward to reading The Next Always by Nora Roberts, but it’s getting mixed reviews.

  6. Not a romance, but I just completed The Help which was very good. I always have a ton of books I want to read lol.

  7. I read very little contemporary, but the Brenda Novak series sounds really good! I loved Prison Break, and it seems like a great plot line in the first book. Thanks, a new author to try!

  8. Real Men Will by Victoria Dahl was Steeeeeeamy! Eric + Beth were first seen in The Guy Next Door (compilation w/ Dahl, Donovan, and Foster), but you don’t have to read it to get in to their story. This was a perfect end to the series. In my eyes, you seriously can’t go wrong with Dahl.
Some Like it Hot by Lousia Edwards comes out at the end of the month. I typically don’t read a lot of contemp. but just look at the cover and think manly pastry chef lol.

  9. Besides the books you have mentioned I look forward to reading THE NEXT ALWAYS by Nora Roberts and HEAD OVER HEELS by Jill Shalvis.

  10. I like Sarah Mayberry too, her upcoming book looks really good. I’m also looking forward to Margo Maguire’s new book BRAZEN. I really enjoyed her previous book SEDUCING THE GOVERNESS.
Thanks for all the recommendations! 🙂

  11. Some good recommendations here. I just had cataract surgery and reading has been difficult. I am far sighted in one eye and near sighted in the other. I won’t be able get new lenses for a few weeks yet. Reading and going on line has been a real strain. At this point I’ll be happy to read anything without difficulty. (and then I’ll have the other eye done.)

  12. Kim and tin cc-ong: I interviewed Joanna Bourne earlier this week on my blog, and she’s giving away The Black Hawk to one person who leaves a comment by Monday 7 Nov. http://readericreatedhim.wordpress.com/2011/10/31/interview-with-joanna-bourne-and-giveaway/

Amber: I’m desperate to read Jill Shalvis’s Head Over Heels. Why must January be so far away!

Librarypat: I’m sorry you haven’t been able to read much lately! I hope you get better soon and that your ordeal won’t be so bad with the next eye. And just think how many books you can consume once your eyes are healed – you’ll have lots of great novels to catch up on, too!

  13. Heal well Librarypat! Thanks Bev., these books sound so interesting, I’ve added to my list of TBR. I’m looking forward in reading Kristan Higgins “Until There Was You” Going to B&N today, so this one will be on my to buy list.
