Destiny will be decided between the sheets in this all-new tale of “The Princess and the Pea.”

For Olivia Lytton, betrothal to the Duke of Canterwick—hardly a Prince Charming—feels more like a curse than a happily-ever-after. At least his noble status will help her sister, Georgiana, secure an engagement with the brooding, handsome Tarquin, Duke of Sconce, a perfect match for her in every way . . . every way but one. Tarquin has fallen in love with Olivia.

Quin never puts passion before reason. And reason says that Georgiana is his ideal bride. But the sensual, fiery, strong-willed Olivia ignites an unknown longing in him— a desire they are both powerless to resist. When a scandalous affair begins, they risk losing everything—Olivia’s engagement, her sister’s friendship, and their own fragile love. Only one thing can save them—and it awaits in the bedroom, where a magnificent mattress holds life-changing answers to the greatest romantic riddle of all.

  1. I wish series released in consecutive months, Eloisa was my first must read author when I started reading again a few years ago. My all time favorite fairy tale is Cinderella, that is what strated my love of historicals.

  2. LOVE Beauty and the Beast!!! So romantic, seeing someone for who they are inside as opposed to the “beast” on outside! Love romances based on Beauty and the Beast, too. I think back to Anne Stuart’s “Night of the Phantom” was a fav of mine!

  3. I always loved Cinderella, because who wouldn’t want a godmother whose main job was to make you look pretty & give you nice clothes?

  4. I want it! I love Regency romances…And my favorite fairy tale is Cinderella. I remember watching the version on TV where Cinderella was played by Lesley Anne Warren. The lonely, mistreated orphan gets to dress up in gorgeous clothes and dance the night away with the handsome prince. And those glass slippers – I always wanted a pair as a little girl. 🙂

  5. I have to admit to being a fan of Beauty and the Beast.

Can’t wait for Eloisa’s new book!

  6. Favorite fairy tale, for me, has got to be Beauty and the Beast. How can you not adore the pure and loving “beauty” who sees the good and the soul in the “beast”? Nothing is more fulfilling then the beast redeeming himself and being tamed by love 🙂 .

  7. I already cleared up a spot on my EJ shelf for this one 🙂 My favourite fairy tale is probably Beauty and the beast. There is just something about that tale I can never get enough of.

  8. I love EJ and reading Historical Romance Novels. We lost power with the freak storm last week and I read 10 in 7 days. Call it an obsession if u will. My fav. fairy tale Beauty and the Beast. I love that Belle can see the good in beast and fall in love with him for him not his looks. (My son is playing Belle’s father in his Middle School Production this year so I will see it on stage in Jan.)

  9. I can hardly wait for this book to come out! *happy squee*

My favorite fairy tale was always Beauty and the Beast. I have a special place in my heart for beastly heroes (I do write paranormal, you know) and even when I was little, I liked the idea of the handsome prince being changed into something monstrous, but finds love despite his appearance.

  10. Cinderella is my favorite fairy tale. I remember growing up watching every year the TV version with Leslie Ann Warren & Stuart Damon dancing in the ballroom to the wonderful Rogers & Hammerstein score! So romantic!! Thinking back on those memories is putting a smile on my face, as do Eloisa’s romance novels! Can’t wait for her next!

  11. Oh wow… I have so many fairy tale favorites, though, my heart still goes out to famous Robin Hood. A man fighting for the poor, and his true love. I guess that’s why I love reading Historical Romances. Gentleman seems to discover, later mind you, that they’re in love. Once they’ve discovered their true feelings, they fight to protect their fair lady, no matter the cost. Recently, I read my first Viking/Highland book., Donna Fletcher, “The Irish Devil” It was intense and oh so amazing. I had to buy the following book, “Irish Hope.” Another amazing read. Next I plan to to read “Love Me Forever” and “Isles of Lies” True Robin Hood!

  12. My favourite fairy tale is The Little Mermaid, but I also like Cinderella.

I´d really like to win this newest Eloisa-book, but only if this giveaway is open to international readers.

  13. Oh! I love Eloisa James’ books! Love her Kiss at Midnight! I think my favorite fairy tale would be Rapunzel.

  14. I love Eloisa James!

My favorite fairy tale is probably “The Daisy” by Hans Christian Andersen.

  15. I’ll be so interested to see what she does with this one!

I’ve always been fond of Cinderella because I think so many writers sit in the corner and dream and hope that one day a Publisher will ask them to the ball!! I’m still working for my evil stepmother Walmartia!

Then again Beauty and the Beast stories ALWAYS end up on my keeper shelf! Lord of Scoundrels – Claiming the Courtesan – Dangerous to Love. SIGH! LOVE those stories! Even Balogh’s Slightly Dangerous is a bit of a Beauty and the Beast story.

Another favorite is The Ugly Duckling. The power of love to make each of us into something beautiful is a wonderful story to tell.

  16. My favorite fairy tale is beauty and the beast because she fell in love with his inner beauty and how he treated her not his apperence. ialso like king athur because the knights were respectful and honorble and romantic.

  17. I’m another long time fan of “beauty & the beast” stories. however I do enjoy “princess & the pea” and would certainly enjoy getting to read this ARC to check out Eloisa’s interpretation 🙂 Thanks for the chance.

  18. My favorite is Beauty and the Beast. I am very interested in how EJ manages a twist on the Princess and the Pea.

  19. “Toads and Diamonds.” I’m very partial to good sister/bad sister stories. (Why yes, I have a sister, why do you ask? 😉 ) “Beauty and the Beast,” Disney version, may be my favorite retelling of a fairy tale however.

  20. I don’t really remember reading any fairy tale’s when I was young, but I still would love to win the book.

  21. Beauty and the Beast with Cinderella coming in a close second. I like the dark, tortured hero and Beast is up there, also I’m envious of his library!

  22. What a great giveaway! I am excited to read a romance based on The Princess and the Pea which is pretty unique. I would say Beauty and the Beast is my favorite fairy tale.

  23. I think my favorite fairy tale is the Twelve Dancing Princesses….though I did love Sleeping Beauty too:)

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  24. I am a long-time lover of fairy tales in all their variety. I am not sure that I could pick a single favorite fairy tale. Probably my favorite retelling of a fairy tale in novelization form is “Beauty” by Robin McKinley because it is just a beautiful, beautiful book, but I am not sure that I would say Beauty and the Beast is my favorite fairy tale. I have a huge collection of myths and fairy tales from all over the world. 🙂

  25. When I was a child, I was always at the library checking out Fairy Tale books. My most favorite one of all has to be “Sleeping Beauty , the beautiful Princess called “Aurora” and her handsome prince. I used to wish that I was her.

  26. Thanks for the giveaway. I’d love to read it. I don’t have a favorite romance-themed fairy tale. I do love the dark Grimm’s tales, though, the ones that have nothing to do with romance, lol.

  27. Ooh, super excited about this book coming out. It’s definitely on a long list of books available in January that I plan on getting ahold of.
I love the post so I had to respond. My favorite fairy tale(s) is Cinderella and all of it’s renditions. From the Ever After movie with Drew Barrymore, Rogers and Hammerstein version with Julie Andrews, and the Disney version. The story is priceless, though I enjoyed the Ever After movie probably the best because you got to see a little more Prince Charming’s personality and character.

  28. My favorite fairy tale would have to be Sleeping Beaauty, she slept and the man (prince charming) had to fight tooth and nail to get to her and in the process he had to prove his love and devotion. Other than that I love any romance novel that I can get my hands on.

  29. I love this series so much. I can’t wait to read The Duke is Mine! Eloisa James is one of my favorite historical romance authors. When I was a kid, my favorite fairy tale was Puss in Boots. Hah, that was a good story! Nowadays, my favorite fairy tale is Beauty and the Beast. I never get tired of reading it. Thank you for the giveaway!

  30. I love Eloisa James! (And this is such a great giveaway!)

My favorite fairy tale is East of the Sun, West of the Moon. Story is similar to Beauty and the Beast but I love the part where the girl goes on a quest to rescue the boy.

  31. The Duke is mine by Eloisa James looks and sounds delicious. My favorite fairy tale was The Princess and The Pea. After that, it was Cinderella.

  32. Its been a while since I have read Eloisa’s books and this one looks really good. Would love to read it.

  33. I love Eloisa James’ fairy tale books and I can’t wait to read this one. My favorite fairy tale is Cinderella – I loved reading about her finally getting her prince.

  34. Brilliant giveaway.

My favourite fairytale is Beauty and the Beast, and I love the Disney movie as well.

  35. my favorite fairytake is Cinderella…but also like The Beauty and The Beast!!! and would love to win a earlier copy of THE DUKE IS MINE.

  36. I’ve always been partial to Snow White. Incidentally, anyone watching Once Upon a Time on ABC? Fantastic show!

  37. I am a sucker for Beauty and the Beast. I can watch that one over and over again. I even got my kids hooked on it. B-)
I am a kid at heart and I love to watch all kinds of cartoons. I have them all pretty much. My second favorite is Cinderella. Dreams do come true.
    Thanks for the contest.

  38. Yessssss a new James novel! I simply adore her work and have been (im-)patiently waiting for the next fairy tale book to come out.

I guess my favorite is with the majority, Beauty and the Beast. The magic of it both on the surface and hidden; the lesson of learning that things are not always as they appear; the character development of the beast growing, changing and eventual redemption through the freeing love of Beauty. And then there is the struggle Beauty goes through (depending on which version you read), her acceptance of self worth and new confidence combined with her ability to see ones true character make her a truly memorable character.

Thank you so much for the chance to win a copy of this book, we all need a little fairy tale every now and then =)

  39. Eloisa James is one of my favorite authors! I have enjoyed her “fairy tales” so far, and am sooooo looking forward the the next Duke is Mine!

  40. Is this an international giveaway?

I really hope so! Well, I love Beauty and the Beast and Eloisa’s rendition of that story in When Beauty Tamed the Beast was wonderdul! I am soooooo looking forward to this next book in her fairy tale series!

  41. THE DUKE IS MINE sounds really good, can’t wait for it to be released. My favorite fairy tale has always been Cinderella.

I really enjoy reading or watching anything that involves fairy tales, that’s why I like the new ABC television show Once Upon a Time. I have to agree with what Margay said it’s fantastic.

  42. I just discovered Eloisa James with Beauty Tames the Beast. I’ll definitely be looking for her new book. My favorite fairy is (of course) Beauty and the Beast.

  43. Wow, this book looks good, I love the idea of basing romance books on fairy tales! I’ve never read an Eloisa James book but I’ve heard very good things about them.

I would have to pick SLEEPING BEAUTY as my favorite fairy tale!

Thanks for another wonderful giveaway! 🙂

  44. I have enjoyed Eloisa’s take on these traditional fairy tales. This should be a good one.
My favorite is Beauty and the Beast. The inner worth of people is so often overlooked. Beauty may live up to her name in appearance, but in her case it isn’t only skin deep. She is a lovely sensitive person who can see the inner self of the Beast. Not to mention that wonderful library in Beast’s castle. Yes, I know, that is the Disney version, but I love it : )

  45. This book looks sooo amazing. I absolutely adored romances based on fairy tales. 🙂

My favorite one would have to be Sleeping Beauty. Love’s true kiss gets me every time. I’m a sap.

  46. For moralistic reasons Beauty and the Beast is a great choice, but I’ve always been fond of The Devil with the Three Golden Hairs (with the sneaky hero questing in order to keep his lovely princess wife).

  47. I’ve always loved Cinderella and that’s why I loved Eloisa James’ A Kiss At Midnight. I can’t wait to read The Duke is Mine.

  48. Looks like there’s quite a few Cinderella fans so I’ll throw my name into that hat. I just finished reading Kieran Kramer’s IF YOU GIVE A GIRL A VISCOUNT which gives the Cinderella take a new spin and loved it. Lila DiPasqua’s A MIDNIGHT DANCE is a pretty hot twist on the same story.

  49. *squeee* I’ve been waiting for this book for months! I’m so excited *g*

Ok, humm my favorite fairy tale would be Beauty And The Beast. I always loved that she saw under the appearances and loved him for what he really was. Soo cute!!!

  50. I’m another Cinderella fan. I’ve read all of Eloisa’s books & cannot wait until The Duke is Mine is released.

  51. Yes, would definitely like to read it. My favorite is Beauty and the Beast. I always felt sorry for the beast!

  52. My favorite fairy tale is Beauty and the Beast. Like many, I am not-so-patiently awaiting the release of The Duke is Mine. Thanks for the giveaway.

  55. my fav fairy talee are Snow White & Rose Red, Brother & Sister, 12 Dancing Princess, Rumplestiltzskin, and Jorinde & Joringle
my fav disney sterilized fairy tale is Beauty and the Beast

  56. Beauty & the Beast, because we all want to be loved for who we are, instead of what we look like.

  57. As a child I grew up with fairy tale stories. It’s every girls’ dream to be a the princesses who have their happily after marriage. I’m so excited when this classical stories have their own version strat from historical romance to modern romance. My favorite is Beauty and the Beast. I like the part when love can defeat the physical ugliness and the bitter soul.
Reading this story reminds me to never stop dreaming that life can turn the otherwise. Well, it feels like I’m going back to my childhood time

  58. The Little Mermaid. Ariel’s such a handful of mischief and trouble. Prince Eric is a sweetie too! I like the idea of Mermaids aiding sailors not luring to their deaths.

  59. EJ is one of my all-time favorite authors and her newest book is on my BTB list! Would love to win an ARC copy here. My favorite fairy tale is one from my Grimm’s Book of Fairy Tales I had as a child. It’s called ‘Snow White and Rose Red’. But I liked The Princess and the Pea too!

  60. I LOVE “fairy tale” romances! My favorite fairy tale is hands down “The Little Mermaid”.

  61. I always liked Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Thanks for the giveaway. Can’t wait to read this one.
