When Kimberly Killion of www.HotDamnDesigns.com sent me the cover for TWICE THE TEMPTATION, the first book in my new series The Temptresses, I nearly swooned in delight. And now that I have a cover, I’m very excited to share it with you–although I did share it on Facebook with my friends earlier this week. 🙂

But first I’ll give you a little background on my new series, which connects with my first series, The Elusive Lords. Actually it’s just easier if I post the proposal pitch.

Temptation is as old as Adam and Eve. Unfortunately, succumbing to it is as natural as breathing to the gentlemen in the haut ton.  But the secret society of the TEMPT club (Test Eligible Males’ Proof of FideliTy) will save prospective brides bent on fidelity by discerning the faithful from the philanderers. And the founders and sole members of the club—Catherine Rutherford, Olivia Wakefield and Meghan Townsend—are ready and willing to apply themselves fully to that task. What they hadn’t counted on was emotional entanglements…

Here’s the unedited and subject-to-change-at-any-given-moment blurb of  TWICE THE TEMPTATION.

~*~*~

Catherine Rutherford has been smitten with the sinfully handsome American, Lucas Beaumont, since the moment they met a year ago. And he appears just as enamored of her, for following his return to London he launches a seductive campaign to ensnare her heart and secure her hand in marriage. Never has a courtship gone so well…that is until Catherine discovers Lucas was in love with her sister first.

She and her twin may share the same face but Catherine refuses to share a man’s affections much less be any woman’s substitute. With her sister’s blessing and the aid of her friends, Catherine challenges the man she loves to the ultimate test of fidelity. Posing as her heartbroken twin—who is really anything but—Catherine seeks his solace from an “unhappy marriage” and begins a tempestuous game of seduction where the true proof of his love lies in his immunity to her charms.

If all goes as planned, TWICE THE TEMPTATION will be released in Early 2013. What I do plan to get out this year is a New Adult (Mature YA) novel I’m currently working on titled, WHEN IN PARIS…  This is the first book in my Language of Love series. The tagline for this book is:

They’ve known each other for years

But it’s in Paris that they find each other

The truth of the matter is they went to high school together and never spoke more than two words to each other. Now they’re attending  the same university and wind up in French class together. There is no love lost between them. Or maybe their problem is, there is… Kim’s working on the cover and when it’s finished I’ll definitely be showing it off. 😉

Yes, I’m spreading my wings and will writing in 3 (three) different genres: Historical (of course), Contemporary Romance, and New Adult romance.  My first contemporary, SECOND AND LONG and the intro to my Creme de la Creme  series will be out some time in 2013–think football (as in ex pro quarterback hero) and pastries (as in heroine is part owner in Creme de la Creme bakery).

I’m very very excited about my upcoming books and I had an absolutely fabulous July 4th, what about you? What did you do? What did you eat? How was the weather? Did you totally pig out?

  1. Everything sounds super exciting! I can’t wait for Catherine and Lucas’ story. The other stories sound extremely interesting to, but you know I’m a sucker for Historicals.

I really love these updates and learning about what you’re working on. Thanks for sharing!

  2. Best of luck with your venture into new sub-genre. They all sound like they will be enjoyable.
We are visiting family and spent a rather quiet day. Stayed at my sisiter’s and spent the mornijng with them. Say my dad for a bit and then headed over to one of my btother’s for what turned into a long and enjoyable visit. We really didn’t pig out. Left my sister’s before lunch and by the time we got to my brother’s, they had eaten. We had snacks about 7 and that was our day. It was a good day and not nearly as fattening as usual.

Glad you had a great 4th.

  3. I’m so excited! Lucas deserves to be put to the test – kinda the price of wanting the sister to the first woman you loved and all that. What a great concept. And poor Alex, he’ll be all miffed Lucas is back.

I am also thrilled about your contemporary. Good for you.

  4. These sound great! I definitely can’t wait to get my hands on Twice the Temptation. I loved the chemistry between Lucas and Catherine in An Heir of Deception.

  5. Sounds good, indeed. A book for my must have list.

It was HOT, HUMID, and MISERABLE in MD yesterday. I stayed inside all day long and read!

  6. I can’t wait to read the new books. They sound great.

Bev – Have you thought of doing a blog post about how your daily writing schedule has changed since you left your full-time job? Ex: Are you writing multiple books at once or one book at a time? Also, has stepping away from the blog given you a lot more time for writing?

  7. These books sounds amazing!!
July 4 was filled with a lot of emotions.
Unfortunately we had to go to the
emergency room due to a massive heart attack
and had to cancel our family picnic.
Lots of love and prayers to my uncle. <3

  8. Love the cover! The story sounds very intriguing.

I had a great 4th, watched baseball on tv, watched a NCIS marathon, then went to the ballpark and saw fireworks after the game. The the heat was unbearable, it was so muggy yesterday.

  9. I normally find that if I enjoy the voice of an author in one genre, I like them all, so I’m sure I will enjoy any genre that you want to write!! As to the 4th, I usually cook for my family both both my daughters had to work so my husband surprised me and we went out for an early dinner and a movie!!

  10. Congratulations on branching out, Bev! I prefer Historicals, but will read anything you write.

My husband has Stage 4 Lymphoma cancer and doesn’t go out much except for doctor’s appointments. We stayed in and had a great time just being together. We mainly watched TV. I fixed a chicken casserole dinner.

    1. “Bev! I prefer Historicals, but will read anything you write.” How I LOVE to hear those words. 🙂

Oh Cathy I’m so sorry to hear about your husband. What’s important now is prayers and enjoying every minute you have together. God Bless you both.

  11. Twice the Temptation sound wonderful!

My July 4th holiday was good–visited with friends and watched fireworks from their comfy, air-conditioned den.

  12. Twice The Temptation sounds amazing. Can’t wait to read any of the stuff you’re working on. It’s so great that you are going to be working on different genres, and anything coming from you is automatically on my tbr list 😛

I’m in San Diego, so our Fireworks were kinda busted. Major malfunction so there was no show… just a huge boom and a bunch of people left wondering what the heck?? lol But the day was wonderful with family, and we ate way more then we should have and it was still a blast (even if the fireworks weren’t)

  13. Pardon my poor reading skills. I thought the contemporary book was about Football and Pasties (like strippers wear). Uh, not quite. It sounds lovely, just like the other two. Can’t wait to read them!

  14. I like that you’re branching out to different genres. I stopped myself from pigging out. It was super hot, but we did enjoy the Macy’s fireworks.

  15. Awesome! 2-new books! Aren’t you glad you can now focus on something you dearly love to do. I can hardly wait to read another great love story. Thanks Bev for making this holiday even better! 🙂

  16. Can’t wait to read Catherine and Lucas’ story. Sounds amazing.
We painted a bedroom, had a cookout, and watched the fireworks. I think we all ate too much.

  17. Bev, how wonderful you are writing so many upcoming novels and in so many different genres! TWICE THE TEMPTATION has such a gorgeous cover! The blurbs to both of your upcoming books look really great!
I’m so happy to hear you had such a fabulous Fourth of July. I spent mine reading and watching the fireworks.
It was interesting reading everybody else’s posts too!!! 🙂

  18. Can’t wait to read it. We didn’t do anything on 4th of July — we lost our power on Sunday and didn’t get back till the 4th.

  19. How exciting to have all these books coming out! I enjoyed the fourth but it was hot so I stayed in air conditioning. My husband grilled burgers and corn and it was delicious.

  20. I am excited about Twice the Temptation and can’t wait for it to be released.

We stayed home for July 4th. In the evening the kids did some fireworks and we watched the other fireworks displays.

  21. Congratulations on the new series. I love the sound of it and can’t wait to see the first book. It gives me pause though to think of all the different irons you have in the fire. Aren’t you afraid of burning yourself?

Didn’t do much for the 4th….getting ready for my summer trip to Michigan to visit with my children for a few days.

  22. Hmm, yes a very nice cover =)

The 4th was nice, hubby and I took the kids to the zoo early before it was hot. Then stayed inside. They took a long nap from the mornings excursions…bliss.
