I have a couple of polls I’d like you to answer. There’s a little something at the end of all this so if you’d like to be “involved” please also comment and include your answers there as well. It’s a very nice surprise. 😉

  1. Interesting poll, Beverly!

We have two iPads in the house: 1st gen and 3rd gen. I love the flexibility of having more than just an ereader. I also use my iPad to write on when I’m out and about.

That said, I usually end up buying books for my Kindle app instead of through iBooks, even though I prefer the shelf/folder options in iBooks so I can tell what I’ve already read or not!

      1. Most of the links I see on twitter are for amazon, so that’s one factor. Finding books on iBooks is harder in some ways. I also tend to keep most of it in the cloud for kindle to save space on my phone since I’m more likely to have that with me than the iPad, and a few times I’ve re-downloaded a book I’ve already read by mistake. =(

  2. I would love a Kindle. Several of my family have them, and have been very pleased with them. Plus I use the Kindle app on my PC and I’d have my library available to me.

  3. I do have a e-reader so I voted yes. The next 2 questions I didn’t answer as I already have a e-reader and I’m not sure which is the best to choose from. I’ve stopped making so many trips to B&N because I need to read the books I have and there are many! *g* The amount I spend has gone down for the same reason. I’d love to send my sister a e-reader. In your opinion, Beverley, which is the best? I would want to send her the best. It would be a great Xmas gift for her. She keeps talking about one but she can’t afford it. As she just lost her dog it would be a nice surprise. Definitely something to cheer her.

    1. Hehehe. I’m partial to my iPad so that won’t help. However, if I had to pick an ereader, I’d probably go with Amazon because I’m an affiliate and because their book selection is so huge. As it is, I buy from the iBookstore because I love the reading experience with their app.

      1. I have a Nook and I love it, but I too want an ipad. Then I could have an app for B&N, Kindle and any other ibooks. It would be nice to be able to have my books on one tablet. But my Nook works great for now and I have an app on my computer for kindle. My Nook also downloads for other ibooks too, just not Kindle.

  4. I would love a kindle (in the poll i chose the kindle touch) because I love to read and I have been borrowing my mother’s Fire while I have been taking care of my dad (terminal cancer). I found that while I couldnt watch tv or have a light on but the light of the kindle didnt bother him too much. But seeing it was hers I didnt get to read as much as I would have liked.

  5. I was given a Nook ereader as a gift. It’s very nice, but I find that the prices of books are better with a Kindle. In certain circumstances, Amazon will offer deals that aren’t offered by BN. As an example, a recently released ebook hardcover was $1.99 through Amazon and $14.99 through BN. No, that price differential wasn’t a mistake.

That said, I borrow a lot of books from the library and only purchase favorite authors in paperback. Since I get 25% off of books at Target or WalMart and 0% off with an ereader, I still purchase the paper format. If ebooks are ever discounted, then I would purchase more. I tend to purchase the backlist of author’s that are on sale with my ereader.

  6. I have a nook color and I love it!! However, I want a kindle, too, because there are books available on Amazon that are not available on BN, so I end up having to read them on my android phone or laptop. (Connie Brockway’s Montlake published books for example.) I am currently unemployed and rely on the generosity of my parents to purchase any books.

  7. I would love a Kindle Fire. The Kindle Fire has access to the Internet, is in color, has access to tons of books, books can be borrowed from the Library. You can download videos, apps, games and music. It is convenient to carry around. Also you can get free books from Amazon, this is how I found authors that I have not been exposed to, and got hooked on them. Although some ebooks’ price really need to be lowered.

  8. I have a Kindle and I love it! (My niece would love one and has been saving her money to get one! 🙂 My budget for ebooks is whatever I have available as gift cards on Amazon, which I get for my bday and whatnot. I love when publishers put ebooks on sale and I usually grab them if they are a good deal. I also love getting ebooks from the library system but I find myself using the library for new physical books instead bc the waiting lines for ebooks can be long sometimes and I’m impatient, lol. I don’t pay $7.99 for ebooks often though, I will get the physical book instead because I can usually get the physical books at a discount at Walmart or Target. I give myself a budget of $20 a month for books and I can stick to it usually with the help of the library!

  9. I would love a kindle fire!!! I would love to read my books on something other than my phone, it’s so small and kills my battery lol. My kids also love to read on my phone so it’s always a constant battle for whose turn it is b/c we tear through books like crazy. My son who turns seven today is going into first grade and is super excited about reading and now his four year old sister is learning from him and starting to read herself, thankfully they are voracious readers like me, they make me so proud when they choose reading over tv.

  10. I love the Kindle Fire. You can download tons of books, watch movies, do emails, and I like that it’s in color. The bonus for me is that it has a light in the screen and you can read it at night without having the lights on. That way you don’t disturb anyone else. I like that you can download books for free and take it with you anywhere. You don’t have to worry if you brought a book with you because they are all downloaded to the kindle. I also like that since I’ve got four kids that if you get stuck somewhere they can play games or watch a movie with amazon prime.

  11. I actually want one that doesn’t exist yet ;). We have both Nooks and Kindles in our house, and there’s things I like and don’t like about both. It’s easier to get library books (thank goodness they were finally available for the Kindle–we didn’t get one until they were) on the Kindle, just a few clicks on the computer, no downloading and transferring. Kindle prices, when there is a difference, do tend to be slightly better than Nook. The lack of page numbers on Kindles drives me crazy, though–those position numbers mean nothing to me, and the % done doesn’t quite cut it. I also read a lot of NetGalley books, and their formatting is much better on the Nook–looks pretty much like the finished product–but on the Kindle there are all kinds of odd formatting issues that make reading a bit of a challenge. Or at least make it require more thought than I want to have to put into the process in the summertime 🙂

So….do I need another ereader? No, guess not. But I’d love to have one that combines the best of the Kindle and Nook and leaves out the pain-in-the-butt stuff.

  12. I love my Sony but also like the Kindle Fire but won’t buy another until my Sony is dead, then I might buy another Sony only because I can get books from anywhere and load them so long as they are in a pdf format. I’m a reading whore so I would read on anything really. Would just love to read Twice the Temptation however somebody (you) haven’t finished it yet!!!!!

  13. I have a Kindle Fire which I love although the battery life leaves something to be desired. Before I got my ereader I never thought it would be my primary way of reading but I can’t remember the last time I read a print book. That makes me sad, actually…

  14. I have a really old Sony e-Reader – the first model they ever came out with. I love/loved it, but it’s starting to give out on me all the time so I guess I need to start looking for a new one.

I didn’t say I wanted a Kindle because I’m pretty anti-amazon for various reasons. I think I’m leaning toward a Kobo honestly. I like that they seem to play nice with other e-stores.

Being a heavy reader, I think the iPad is too big to comfortably use as an e-reader but that could just be me.

  15. I’d really like an E-Reader because although I buy 2 to three books a month, I also borrow books from the library. It would be lovely to have an e-reader as I would then have a wider choice of books to choose from. There’s also a lot of sites that let you download e-books for free.

I’m a stay at home housewife, and as you can probably gather, I have a lot of time to myself.

This is in reply to Emily’s comment above about the battery life on her Kindle. My friend kept leaving the “turn wireless on” which drained her battery really quickly. Therefore, if this is the case, then Emily should “turn wireless off” to prolong the battery life. If this is not the case, then she should contact Amazon and explain the problem to them and see what they can suggest. 🙂

  16. I’d love to have the Kindle Fire because it has a touch screen, is in color, and because you can do so much more on it than just read books.

  17. I have a Kindle Fire and a Nook Color. I like them both. I answered Kindle Touch but should have said other. I would love to have an Ipad so I could download reader apps for different books stores onto one device. I buy 1 to 3 books a month and spend 10 to 25 dollars per month on books.

  18. Would love a Kindle Fire, but one of the new versions coming out in August (predicted release). I want something I can use for more than just books (although books take highest priority)! This would be something me and hubby would share.

  19. I received a Kindle Touch as a birthday present (I love my friends), but I would love to own a tablet-type of reader. I’ve played around with the Nook Color and iPads, but I haven’t yet had a chance to use a Kindle Fire, so I’d have to go with either the Nook or iPad. I love the multi-use functions, and really hope that Amazon steps up their game and catches up, since they do have the best deals around. I would have to say that the majority of my book purchases are still physical copies, though.

  20. I use the Kindle app on my iPhone and iPad. Surprisingly, my iPhone is my preference for my books, because I always have it with me and I like to read in any spare moment. 🙂

  21. I have the $79 Kindle that I won not too long ago but I don’t have wifi but every once in a while I can go somewhere to download my books the fast way. I average about 4 to 6 books a month but I have been trying some of the free online reads. At the moment I spend around $10 to $25. I do share my print books but that doesn’t really work for the ereader. It would be nice to have a reader that does other things but I’m happy to have at least the convenience of the ereader. My daughter is in a book club and is the only one that has to go out and find print books. I almost gave her mine but I kept it so I guess I’m a bad mom lol.

    1. I guess I should add that if I got another ereader for my daughter, I would want a kindle. It probably would give us the possibility of sharing and kindle seems to be the easiest to get new books in my opinion.

  22. I would love the Nook. I have a kindle keyboard and kindle fire. I use the fire for traveling and prefer the kindle for reading however friends swear by the Nook touch and I would love to explore it

  23. I have a Kindle keyboard and i love it…my sister has the kindle touch and i like hers better…lol…but i thought about the kindle fire and was going to get it but it s=does not have the e ink for when reading outside it glares..so i will stick with the regular kindle…or maybe a nook…i have thought about getting a nook because sometime the books are out faster through B&N…I spend about $30 a month on books or just depending on the books that come out that i want to read…lol

  24. I have never had an ereader because I just love the paper books. I do download some ebooks to my Blackberry though because I like always having something to read with me.

With the way the publishing industry is going, I will probably have to give in and get an ereader. If I were to get one, it would be the Kindle Touch because it seems to get the highest consumer ratings. Amazon also has frequent free ebooks for Kindle.

  25. I own a 5+ year old Sony Reader (PRS 505) and the latest model of the Kindle Touch. The Sony is still a nice reading experience except for the page turn — it’s dreadfully slow compared to the Kindle! But I keep it around for the rare times I can only read a book with an Adobe DRM format. I read a lot but get most of my books from the libraries available to me. Luckily, each library has ebooks, too. Still, I buy at least 4-6 book a month and, after using any discounts available, still probably spend anywhere from $5-15 dollars a month. If I could have another e-reading device I would choose the iPad or another Kindle Touch. I like the versatility of the iPad and the ability to access books I have bought from Amazon, B&N, Kobo, etc, on one device would be wonderful. The Kindle is very nice, extremely comfortable to read with for hours at a time and I do purchase many of my books from Amazon.

  26. I would love a Kindle but have no willpower. I am trying to curtail my book buying because i want to pay my credit card. I have a TBR pile which is huge despite reading a book a day. (2 years worth at least)

  27. I love the idea of having a device that’s specifically just for reading. I also own an ipad but find that it gets passed around way too often because the kids love to play games and watch netflix on it. This limits the amount of time I have to use it, The reason I would pick a Kindle is because I love the efficiency of of having a device that is well built and good quality. I love the simplicity of going to amazon and ordering with “one click”, Last but not least, I love the portability and battery life.

  28. I have the Kindle, and I love it! Have considered getting the fire, but still undecided. I don’t discriminate, however…I buy regular print books too! Have also debated the ipad, but not too terribly familiar with Apple products, so I tend to stick to things I know! And if my hubby EVER had a clue how much I spend a month on books, he would have a fit!…I honestly spend 75 or more a month!

  29. I’m a long time Kindle user and I love it. I have an iPhone and iPad and I sometimes read on them, but the kindle is the most comfortable for longer reading sessions (love the iPad, but it’s too heavy to hold for long periods and the battery burns out much quicker). My K2 is starting to show its age, so I’ve been eyeing the Kindle Touch. I read lots of books each month (20-30 at least), so I’ve really got to watch the book budget or else I’d go broke. I try to keep it to $50/mo or less by trading for used paperbacks even though I’d really prefer to read everything electronically.

  30. I have a kindle fire that I love!!!! I buy books on it a lot. I download free books a lot too. I still buy paperback books when I find one I want to read. Especially if I go to thrift stores & find used books.

  31. Beverly –

I don’t just want another Kindle but desperately need one because my husband keeps taking mine! Ever since they closed our local bookstore (a Waldenbooks) we’ve been relying on my Kindle to buy and read books.

I’d love to get a Kindle Fire so that I could just give him mine and we’d both be able to read at the same time. We’ve been married for 42 years and brought up 2 sons and have 5 grandchildren and we both are still working. It’s a first time in our marriage that we’ve ever argued about anything.

Help save my marriage by having me win another Kindle so we can once again read together!

  32. I would like a Nook Touch. I borrowed my sister’s recently and I really liked it. I like the colorful display and that it will display the covers of ebooks, not just a list of titles (looking at the Kindle), and it doesn’t need a stylus (like the Sony eReader did the last time I checked). And the less said about the Kobo the better – although my bad experiences with Kobo stemmed from buying the ebooks online rather than the Kobo reader itself.

  33. I have a Nook First Edition. Now, I understand, the Nook has changed a lot. I like that the new one can be read in the dark.
This past week I’ve received a number of writer newsletters offering books just made available or on sale for a great price, but only on a Kindle. It sort of makes me upset. Apparently, Amazon is big enough to offer good deals to writers. I really don’t like the idea of switching companies because the biggest one offers the biggest deals. If B&N goes out of business, won’t those great deals evaporate into thin air??? I just don’t trust businesses in general to do the right thing for the consumer.
I read a lot – mostly print books. I keep buying ebooks, but I forget to read them. It’s easy to just pick up a paperback and take it wherever I go. I have been buying novellas and reading them on my Nook. Who knows when they would ever be printed?

  34. Would love to have a Kindle Fire. My laptop died and my pc is not portable, so unless i am home I’m cut off from the internet.

  35. I would love having the option of a more compact stand-alone ereader for those times when my laptop is impractical. I’m partial to the Sony T1 because of the text reflow option for pdf books of which I have lots (over 400). I average about five book purchases a month and am in the $25-$35 range, however I supplement that with books borrowed from friends and libraries.

  36. I have an old Kindle, and I love the sound of a Kindle touch. And it is Amazon, they do have a ton of choices. But really I am a print girl and will pick that every time. Fun to vote and see the numbers!

  37. I have an iPad, which I mostly use for reading.

Cost not being a factor, I think the iPad is the best e-reader (I voted “Other”) — because you can download a number of e-reading apps on it. (Kindle, Nook, iBookstore, etc) —

The one downside of the iPad is its size and weight — I am hoping that the rumors regarding the 7-inch iPad are true because I’m a big fan of Apple’s iOS system. ^_^

Between the dedicated e-readers, though — I think Kindle is the best. As was mentioned by Kristen Koster, most of the updates you find on Facebook (and Twitter) are about discounted or free Kindle books.

Also +1 to what Elizabeth R said about the Kindle store being very easy to use.

To add to that, being an international reader, a Kindle has (almost)-universal access. I was very disappointed when I could only read samples on the Nook app but could not purchase e-books because I am outside the US.

  38. I would love a Kindle Touch. I have a Kindle keyboard and love it, but one always covets the new!

  39. I don’t have an ereader and there isn’t one in my household. I would like to buy an ereader but I don’t have the money at the moment to get one. I would pick the Kindle because I’ve heard great things about them.

  40. I have 3 different ereaders. A Kobo ( I got as a birthday gift about 4 years ago) I have a nook (my boyfriend won out of an arcade game outside of WalMart about a year ago) and a kindle fire (last years Christmas gift). I like my kindle fire the most. I can read in bed without an additional light on. Plus I like how I can buy books right there with the wifi access.
I dont know if I would want to get another ereader. I think if I had the chance I wouldnt mind playing around with the new nook tablet. Maybe not buy it but play around and see how it works. I have heard a few people say they like it more than the kindle fire.
    The poll was pretty cool.

  41. I would like an e-reader that lets me access the internet to check my email and favorite blogs in addition to reading books. We travel frequently and it is often hard to get internet access. My netbook crashed, so that is no longer an option. It would also be nice not to take a crate of books everywhere we go. We will be flying out on our next trip, so I need something compact to hold books for the trip. Both the Kindle Fire and the Nook Tablet offer the internet access and would be perfect. I am saving for one and still trying to decide which to get.

  42. I have an e-reader, it’s a Kindle with the onscreen keyboard (it was a gift).
I think the perfect e-reader is a Kindle Touch.
I say I purchase 4-6 books per month, but sometimes it’s less and sometimes it’s more, and that’s not including the free books downloaded on the Kindle.
I spend $25.01 to $35 per month on books (at least).
I’d love a Kindle Touch since I have an iPhone and I keep touching the screen of my Kindle and nothing happens. 😀

  43. My favorite e-reader is my ipad. Why? Because it allows me to purchase books for my kindle, nook, and ibook apps. It’s the best of all worlds for me. I find that because I purchase based upon price, I shop from various retailers. Of course, it makes organizing my titles a little bit more of I challenge, but I enjoy it.

  44. For the longest time I ‘ve wanted an e-reader because I was missing out on so many great books. But I just won a Kindle Fire and since it was my daughter’s birthday the next day I surprised her with the Kindle. So I’m e-readerless once again. lol lol
I do love mt prints but still in need of an e-reader. I really don’t know which would be the best e-reader but if I had to choose
it would be the Kindle Fire or the Nook Touch. But of course the ultimate reader would be the iPad. 🙂

  45. My kindle is pretty much on its last legs. The buttons are worn from turning pages, the battery doesn’t seem to hold its charge like it used to so many times I am sitting there plugged into the wall to read my books. I can’t complain though, with over 1,000 books in my kindle library it has served me well these last few years.

  46. I love to read on my iPad — I can download all the reader apps on it (except Sony – for their books I download Bluefire) and I don’t have to worry about not being able to get a ebook because it’s only available on one format.

But I still buy books! Nothing is like curling up on the corner of the couch with a good book and something cold or hot to drink.

  47. I do have a kindle, but she is getting on in years and I have out her through the ringed. Guess I am about ready to upgrade. Maybe a kindle fire?? I have not tried anything but kindle. I love that you can purchase a book and start reading in seconds. I read on average 3-4 books a week.

  48. I’d love to win a KINDLE FIRE . I’ve heard about all the improvements since the original KINDLE. I’d love to be able to access all of the free reads! I like the convenience of an e-reader.

  49. If I could pick any ereader I would pick the Kindle Fire. It has so much that you could do on it, it would be a pleasure to have it wherever you went.

  50. I have a Kindle that I’ve had for a long time now.
The perfect ereader, I think, would be a Kindle Fire.
About 1-3, depending on new releases.
    I spend around 25-35.
I would LOVE to win a Kindle Fire! I think it’s an amazing device. Aside from reading, you can watch videos, play games… It’s like a tablet, and that’s awesome 🙂 Thank you for the chance!

  51. I have a Kindle DX, which I love, but I don’t think Amazon really supports it anymore. I’d love a plain Kindle for my 15yo son.

  52. I am a readaholic. I would like a Kindle touch (is that what it’s called?) I don’t want the Fire, because I don’t want to aid and abet purchasing anything beyond books from Amazon. But they do have the best deals, it seems to me, and I get ebooks from Amazon that I have to read on either my computer (bleh) or on my phone (that’s a lot of pages to turn, and uses so much battery).

  53. I would like a Kindle Fire or Touch. I use my Kindle Keyboard daily, but I’d like to upgrade. I’ll be interested in seeing the results of the poll.

  54. I have my eye on the Kindle Fire and Touch. As the prices go down, I’ll probably be in more of a position to purchase one. It would be nice to have my entire library in this gadget.

  55. I have an ipad2, so with the apps, I can read just about anything. I love it, because I can get a book I want and begin reading it immediately. Thanks!

  56. I currently have a nook and kindle downloaded on my iPod. I want an iPad that way I can download nook and kindle on it. life would be perfect. Lol

  57. I would love a kindle fire or the new tablet from google I think it is. you can download the apps to read and also get games, wifi and you are not limited to one place to get your books 🙂

  58. I have both a kindle fire and a kindle keyboard. It took me sometime to jump on the ereader bandwagon, but I am so glad I made the jump. I barely read print books anymore. I find that holding print books or even hardbacks hurts my hands and wrist after awhile.

I love my Kindle touch because it’s light weight, and I like being able to browse the internet while using it. Also, since I read a lot of review books it just makes it so much easier receiving eARCs rather than print books.

  59. I finally broke down and bought a Kindle Fire earlier this year and I absolutely love it! I was hesitant about e-readers because, to me, there’s nothing like the print book in hand. Besides, I have a huge library of paperback books waiting to be read that I couldn’t really see myself with an e-reader.

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to win a Kindle Touch from Bev, our lovely hostess! I’m saving it as a gift to my daughter for her birthday.

I don’t spend a lot on books because 99% of my print books are from my favorite trade site, Paperback Swap. And 99% of the books on my Kindle are either free or contest wins. I have bought some, but very few, ebooks.

  60. I have a Kindle Touch and a Nook Color and while I love the way the covers look on the Nook Color – it’s heavier than the Kindle but they both have strengths and weaknesses. A perfect reader would probably be a tablet that would allow me to have the Kindle app, the Nook App, ADE and maybe some other format too….lol….I would need a multi-format reader.

I buy anywhere from 15-30 books per month and spend way too much on books….lol…

  61. Heh. The e-reader I most covet is an ipad – no explanation necessary, right? Especially with the rumored smaller one coming out… otherwise I’d love to have a kindle. Right now my “e-reader” is my phone. I do hope kindle comes out with a muted backlit one – that’s really important to me.

  62. I want an eReader than can read Mobi reader, as I have several books on my laptop in the format. I try to go to the used bookstore but I often end up using my frequent customer discount at my fave indie bookstore instead.

  63. I would love to have an iPad, but that is way out of my price range right now. I do have a kindle, but have been wanting to get a Nook for a while. I really like the Nook with the glow light, for nighttime reading.

  64. I’d love an e-reader- I am handicapped and books are often too heavy for me to read for any length of times- takes too long to finish the book!

  65. My husband uses his ipad for the majority of his reading. His biggest complaint, possibly his only complaint, is that the ipad tends to get heavy to hold.

I would prefer something smaller, something along the lines of a Kindle Fire or Touch. It would be so good to have, especially when travelling since books take up room and weight. Also, it would be great to have a unit with wifi so I wouldn’t have to drag along my old laptop, too. I definitely need a multi-functional product that I could use for all my uses. There’s talk of a mini-ipad, maybe that would do the trick. I’d just attach it to a mini portfolio/keyboard and away I go! No more cumbersome laptop and an ereader whenever I want one!

  66. I would love a Kindle Touch because they are gorgeous. I have a regular Kindle but it seems to be wearing out. I love to read – and do it every chance I get! I read a lot of short stories to check out new authors and can read anywhere from 10 to 30 books a month on top of work!

  67. I have a Kindle. It does not have touch and I would like to upgrade at some point.

It took me a while to get used to an ereader. I have always loved the feel of paper. However, I enjoy having an ereader. It is so convenient for traveling. Instead of carrying 3-4 paperbacks on a trip, I have one small device to take with many books on it. If I were to win a Kindle I would give my current one to a friend of mine who has been wanting one for a while.

    1. I have a Kindle. It is an older model with no touch.
I buy about 7-10 books a month and spend between $10-25. Some months I spend more. I find that with an ereader, I am purchasing more books because it is convenient to press an order button and moments later be able to start reading.

  68. I would like and Ereader because it would be a lot easier to carry my favorite books around. And I can read whatever book I want and not have to get mad because I left the one I want to read at home. I love to read books.

  69. I have a Nook and while I enjoy it, it does not always download well and it just seems kind of limited. If I were to win a Kindle I would give it to my husband as he loves to read as much as I do. He is in the Army and often deployed in the states and overseas. This would be perfect for him when some of the plane rides can be almost 2 days long.

  70. I would like an ereader of ur choice with a built in light. I LOVE TO READ. I use my phone to read kindle books but its a smartphone and the battery drains quickly. I’m constantly hooking up my phone to its charger. It would be great to have aan ereader to make my reading experience easier. Plus ur books r amazing. To put them down when I have to charge mg phone makes me as angry as the green hulk! Haha 🙂

  71. I would like The Kindle Touch..I love the Kindle I have but the touch would make some of the functions easier to use. I really like your books.

  72. I love to have a kindle. I like the features that it has and I would be able to buy my ebooks from Amazon

  73. My husband has a Kindle Fire and loves it. I would love to win one so that I could start reading ebooks from Amazon.

  74. I find such enjoyment in having an ekindle and knowing that a book will be available to me at all times. I am an avid reader and wouldn’t know what to do if I didn’t have reading material available to me at all times. I can still remember when I was about 12 an constantly going to a library. I am now 88 and I still find in reading a happy and constant companion.

  75. I currently have a Kobo Touch (Canadian) but would love to have a Kindle Touch . I do not purchase any books through Kobo as their Customer Service is absolutely terrible and I refuse to deal with rude people.

I like to do reviews on authors books that I enjoy to encourage and support them. But, because I don’t have a Kindle and do not purchase my books from Amazon, I am not permitted to do reviews.

    Thanks

    Gayle

  76. I read at least one book a day. just had to replace my kindle because screen broke. also have nook bought used. love books and read is what i do the most of any day. rhonda

  77. I have a kindle fire. So easy to use. I read on average 5 books per week since receiving my kindle fire. Would love to win one for my daughter.

  78. I currently have the 1st Generation Nook. While I love my Nook and it fulfills my needs for reading, I want the Tablet so I can enjoy reading with my grandsons. I’ve downloaded books for them, but not the same with my 1st Gen. w/o the animation and the ability for it to read to them. Reading a lot right now after surgery due to a broken leg. It’s a life saver!!!

  79. I think I would enjoy the Kindle Fire. I have a habit of trying to do more than one thing at a time… being able to use the WiFi while I’m reading would be perfect.

  80. I have an older Kindle that is running on a wing and a pray, have had it a several years. I have not tried any other e-reader so I am not sure which I would like to try. I wonder about the Kindle Fire but also the Nooks. I think I would be happy with just about any new e-reader. I purchase about five books a month sometimes more but lately I have had to get some of the freebees because I just had back surgery and I am reading more and also hubby just got laid off work for a week or so not sure how long. So with the medical bills and him being off work I have to watch my pennies. So I know I want be able to afford a new e-reader for quite some time. I haven’t work outside the home in about five years because of job losses, and plant shut-downs and there just doesn’t seem to be any job openings around this area at this time. Right now I can’t work anyway because of the back surgery. I have to start Physical therpy next week.

  81. I would love to win a Kindle Touch. I am disabled and have trouble getting to book stores, so having an ereader would make it so much easier to get books. Also, I can make the print bigger, making it easier to read. My sister has a Kindle Fire and and it works so great I’m green with envy.

  82. I would really love a Kindle Touch because my room is bursting with books already and I have no place to put any more, with a Kindle I can carry on reading as much as I like and they are delivered instantly!!!!

  83. I have at least 5 boxes of books at the moment in my personal library and it would be wonderful to have all my books in an easy to carry along medium. I know there are others who want one just as badly so I appreciate the opportunity to possibly win one :0) Best of luck to all and congrats to whoever ends up being the lucky winner!!

  84. i have the second generation kindle and i love it. i also have an ipad but i dont read books on it. too bright i like my kindle better but now that i am getting used to a touch screen i think i want to purchase a kindle touch. i may heve to get rid of my broken blackberry for any touch screen out there. love your books cant wait for the next historical

  85. I love my Kaindle but sometimes I forget to keep it charged because there is so much going on at my house right now

  86. I resisted getting one when I could afford it. Normally, I spend over $100 a month on books. Finances have changed with several sudden expenses. Now I see most ebooks are cheaper than a hardback.

I have never researched devises which I would like. One e-reader has a light for night reading. I don’t know which one. Another, comes in colors and is harder to read. I know the Sony brand is good. So basically, I don’t know squat. jean

  87. I love the feel of books. The covers, the stepbacks. More and more books are coming out as ebooks only. I would love an kindle fire. I read a ton of books from the library or cheap bookstores cause i have very little money to spend. I read at least a book a day. I have a huge bookcase with books.

  88. I would love a Kindle Fire. It is small enough to fit in my purse, but with enough memory to keep quite a few ebooks on it to read on the go. Ebooks are by far cheaper than most books. I haven’t had much luck with used bookstores in my area carrying my favorite authors or books in decent condition.

  89. I read on my Kindle keyboard and I like it. I got it for my birthday before the fire came out and I want it. Black and white makes it easier to get a headache and I play games on my kindle. It wold be more fun if the games were in color.

  90. Just two days ago I left my Kindle on the airplane. Very sad! I loved my Kindle, but would like a Nook Touch with the light because I use it a night so much.

  91. I would love any kind of kindle, I am disabled and I love books, I could read them all day. But with the economy the way it is I am having a hard time buying a lot of books like I used to. And to top it off, we don’t have a bookstore located anywhere near my home (I don’t have a car) so I can’t drive anywhere to go to a bookstore. I would love to have a Kindle just to be able to hear about a book and order it off Amazon and be able to start reading it right away. That would be pure joy.

  92. I have a Sony e reader and also an IPad. I love them both but really enjoy my iPad more because it is back lit. I also usually buy paper copies of books because they are a lot if times still cheaper and I can buy more books that way.

  93. I would choose the Kindle Keyboard to give to my Mom. She reads all the time. I love mine and I’m sure she would love it also. Although you can read on it, I don’t consider a Kindle Fire an e-reader since you can do so much more with it. I would love to have one, though.

  94. Although I finally broke down and bought a Nook color earlier this year, I rarely use it. I’m still a paperback/hardcover kind of girl. I love the smell and feel of having a book in my hands. I think that I may have bought only one or two brand new books on it. The rest of my nook library consists of my favorites. Actually, that’s mostly why I bought it. I thought it would be nice to have all my favorites in one place, so that when I go on vacation, I’m not carrying so many books with me. Also since I rarely read contemporary books, except for Toni Blake, I’ll buy them on my nook instead. This way I have more space on my shelves for my Historical romances.

  95. No I don’t own an ereader though its one of the things I wish for real bad! I want one but I just don’t have the money to buy one. If I could pick the perfect ereader I would pick an Ipad but am setting my eye on a kindle fire or kindle touch for now. I purchase about 11-15bks a month and spend between $35-$50. I usually get used ones and only buy very few new releases since most of them are just too expensive for me to get.
I would like Kindle Fire because so many books that I want to read these days are ebooks and reading novels on my laptop + all the time I spend on the so called laptop doing assignments is messing up my eyes more.

  96. I love my Kindle Fire and it would thrill my daughter if I could win one for her upcoming 26th birthday : ) I’m currently unemployed, so a gift like this is beyond my budget at the moment; so I want to thank you for giving me an opportunity to win one for her!

  97. I would love the Kindle Fire. It is the perfect size for taking along on trips for reading

  98. I would love a Kindle Fire, because I am finally getting to where I can sit down and read for fun again. For the last 4 years and 3 months I have been working on getting my Bachelors degree. I finally accomplished that goal!! I have worked full time during this, along with going to school part-time and being a full time Mother and Wife. There has been no time for me, or to do things just because I enjoy doing them. Of course I did read during this time, it just wasn’t for fun and most of the time wasn’t that exciting. My husband lost his job at the end of May (the day after his birthday), so we still don’t have the extra money to be able to go out and buy any eReader. Thank you for the opportunity to win a Kindle Fire. I would be thirlled to have one!

  99. I think I’d prefer a kindle, I don’t see as many free books being offered through Sony or Nook, maybe because I haven’t looked, but Amazon makes it so easy. I have the free reader on my PC.

  100. I have an OLD kindle. When they first came out I had saved for a year and bought myself one for mothers day. It was the best thing I ever bought.
Unfortunately, it is on its last legs. I’m learning the battery doesn’t last forever and my baby is plugged in more than not. I would love to win a new Kindle but am saving my pennies in the mean time.
I travel all the time and a kindle saved me from carrying a half ton of books each time I travel.
Thank you for the wonderful contest.

  101. I love my nook, however I would like to have a kindle just for the kindle graph app. I really wish nook would offer it. I use the nook and kindle apps on my iPad and defintely prefer nook. I guess it’s because I like to know where I am in a book, ie how many pages left in a chapter and what page I am on.

  102. My sister has a Kindle and she says how easy it is to use. I am in a couple of the author groups and the majority of everyone says how much they like the Kindle Fire, so that is the I quess I would like. Of course to win a Kindle or Nook would be a thrill to have. I probably have over 300 paperback books and it is an addiction with me. I am usually reading at least 2 books at the same time. One I take to work to read during lunch hour and the other usually in my room, but then sometimes I have a 3rd one by my chair in the living room. Yeppers have it bad. Thank you for a chance to win one.

  103. I have recently upgraded from the original Nook (version 1) to a Nook Simple Touch. But I have been unhappy with it since the 3G service is no longer available to the Nook. I only upgraded because I wore out the touch screen on the 1st edition model. I would like to have a Kindle Touch because I have discovered that Amazon tends to offer more free and older books that Barnes & Noble does.

  104. I love my e-reader. I have a nook & adore it! I love being able to trade books with friends and family on the other side of the country. Many of my coworkers and I read the same types of books and routinely raid each-other’s libraries. I know there are some books available on kindle that Barnes & Noble doesn’t have. I’d love a kindle, but I just can’t justify buying 2 devices!

  105. I have an iPad and really love it because it is backlit, and I am able to read at night easily, but it does get heavy to hold it for very long, esp. with my arthritis. I also have an iPod Touch, but it’s a little small. I would like to get something in-between, like the rumored iPad mini, or an improved version of the Kindle Fire.

  106. i just thought it was too weird. i’m used to reading throughout the day and especially at night before i sleep. i was used to flipping pages. i have a kindle for pc on my computer but don’t have access to it because its shared. i would like a kindle e -reader because i’m familiar with kindle. the reason i like it is because i get most of my books from amazon kindle bookstore. i like to check out their free books too. a lot of them are novellas but i find that being a mom, reading a story from start to finish in 15 or 20 minutes is awesome!

  107. I would love to have Nook because I buy most of my books from Barnes and Noble! Right now I read e books on an computer and it is hard to sit at the computer and read, it is very hard on my back. I would love to snuggle up in my favorite chair with an e-reader that is the size of a book.

  108. Any eread for me would be great. I have many paper books & have just started my ebook collection this year. I love to read. Being a working mum of 2 little girls, I read when ever I can & where ever I can. After a busy day working & looking after my 2 beautiful girls (& husband), I sometimes wish I had more quiet time to read my favourite books. If I come across a book I can’t put down, I spend my time reading instead of resting. Sometimes pay for it the next day being more tired, but I feel it’s worth it. I won’t let that stop me from doing what I still have to do. Historical are my favourite, 80%. The others are all different from Jane Austen to the Twilight Saga to Olivia Dare & Megan Hart…..to name afew.

  109. I have an Amazon Kindle, but I would love an upgrade to the Kindle Fire.

  110. I would love an e reader, being that a lot of the authors I like seem to be having more and more e books that are not in print. Another reason is that e books ten to be cheaper. Also, the fact that I read so many books that I sometimes forget what I have read when I go to the store and then buy a book I have already read. I am unsure though how it would hold up as when I read in bed and fall asleep I tend to drop my book, written books don’t break when you drop them. Well unless I get one I guess I will never know. I need to go for now, as I have 10 more pages in my current book to read and another book waiting for me to start it. : )
