What’s in a 1 Night Stand?
Everything! From marines to time travelers, doms to ménage, and vampires to incubi – it doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from Madame Eve’s 1Night Stand surface can you help you find your true love or at least your true love for now. 😉
This series was originally started by Valerie Mann and Kate Richards back in 2011 and this week Decadent Publishing and the 1NS line are celebrating the 200th book in the series. That’s a pretty big deal. Several best-selling romance authors have written 1NS and the line itself is full of authors who are intelligent, witty, and they write some sexy stuff. Whatever kind of trope you enjoy there’s bound to be a 1Night Stand story out there for you.
A little more about the publishing line:
– The 1Night Stand stories are based around the exclusive arrangement surfaces provided by Madama Eve, with sexy locales usually featuring the Castillo Hotels and Resorts. The fictional Castillo boys are whom some of the first series books feature.
– Madame Eve loves to help people find the person that’s meant for them, but she only works by word of mouth or referrals. Sure her website is up and running, but the cost for her services is pricey (don’t mention the money out loud, you can keep the figure in your head) and there’s background checks you have to get through too. So an ex-con may not be the right fit, especially if we have to question where the funds for the night came from. Don’t even think about advertising. Good services don’t need to market, they sell themselves.
– The other good news is that Madame Eve seeks to match people with the perfect person for them. That’s why every story gives you either an HEA or HFN. Don’t even think about being disappointed or the heroine/hero disappearing without their 1Night partner into the sunset.
Finally, this line is always looking for more great 1Night Stand’s. They take submissions and a quick visit to their site will provide all the additional details.
So, how do you write a one night stand?
I don’t know if there’s a magic formula or not. In my story, the two characters were originally scheduled for a 1Night Stand, just not the Madame Eve variety. Then I realized it would be perfect if Madame Eve could connect these two people who were dealt a bad case of ‘wrong time/wrong place’. Here’s a blurb of my upcoming 1Night Stand book, What You Need- Release Date TBD
Royce is looking for a woman who won’t cringe at the words “sexual submissive,” and a chance for all his fantasies to come true. The 1Night Stand he signed up for was supposed to be simple with no attachments, but when his match is his ex-best friend, simple goes out the window. He can’t stop seeking the answers to why Victoria left or deny his new-found attraction to her.
Victoria has loved Royce forever, but his rejection of her affections eight years ago caused her to walk away from everything. She’s not the same girl from college, and no longer naive and willing to run too just anyone. A sexual dominant born from her mistakes, she wants a chance to start a relationship based on her terms. She’ll settle for one night, but she’s planning on forever.

Have read several books in the 1Night Stand series. Lots of great authors have wrote books for this. This was always a perfect way for me to check out new authors also. Reading the shorter books gave me a chance to read their work. If I liked the short story, then would probly like a longer version.
Yes, it is a great way to become familiar with an author’s writing style. I agree that I’ve found new authors through the 1NS series that I wouldn’t have tried previously.
So does that mean they all have one-night stands?
Yes, they all do. But it doesn’t always end right after the one night stand. For some of the stories there’s an epilogue that could span a few months or a year since the encounter.
Some of the stories I enjoy the best are ones where the characters are re-uniting. Those are probably some of the easiest to fall into the romance with as well.
