They’re not your traditional highlanders.
Rafe Gordon, Laird of Nairn, is searching for release from the nightmare of his wife’s passing. When Elsie, his daughter’s new governess, brings with her the temptation of passion and a less-than-perfect-past, Rafe must decide if love truly can conquer all.
Innes Gordon is looking for a good time. When that good time turns out to be the childhood-friend-turned-kept-woman Catriona, he finds himself torn between claiming her ‘til death do us part’ or simply sharing her with his twin.
Hamish Gordon is seeking a woman all his own. While his family’s home is invaded with nuptial ceremonies, Hamish is sent to patrol his older brother’s hunting grounds in search of a thief. Discovering his prey yields the biggest surprise — and Athdara needs his help as much as he needs hers.
He wondered if this ‘wisp of a woman was the thief or merely a lookout to the band of thieves operating in the Nairn woods. These hunting grounds were under his brother, Lord Rafe’s control, and the local magistrate had reported thieves attacking travelers along the main road. When the message arrived weeks prior, Hamish found the perfect excuse to skip his brother Innes and new sister-in-law Catriona’s wedding celebrations. If nothing else, someone had to ensure their lands weren’t being used as a hideout.
“Are you from here, ‘wisp?” He attempted to keep his voice low, not wanting to scare this creature away. He’d always been gifted at calming those around him, especially a person or animal possessing a skittish nature.
She stood on the shore, and he noticed the fine quality of the boots on her feet. Indeed, the lass was more than she seemed. “Aye. Are you, warrior?”
Her voice, sweet and melodic, called to him, made him want to command her to his side. The fact she’d called him the same nickname his mother bestowed him with as a wee lad also bore on his soul.
“I’m brother to the man who’s responsible for these lands, the dirt under your feet, the water I stand in. I have questions for you if you’d speak with me.”
“I would answer.” Her response came with a slow perusal of his body. He followed her gaze as it traversed his length, no maiden blushes or shyness. Her frank appraisal spiked his interest threefold.
“If you’ll allow me to come to shore and dress…” His words trailed off as she toed off her boots.
“No need. I’ll come to you, warrior.”
He went still at her blatant offer. “That’s not necessary.”
Her hand moved to the buttons on her vest, and his heart pounded against his rib cage as each one fell loose of its moorings.
“Aye, it’s necessary. For I seek to view you as you are. I’ve watched afar too long.”

Wow! Sounds like a hot story. 🙂
Thank you Beth! It’s definitely steamy.
Id loveeee to win!!! Sounds like such a good book!!
Nothing better than a man in a kilt
Highlands are so rugged. Ahh!!! *swoon*
Sounds very interesting. I love Highlander stories because it is so far away from my reality
I agree with you there Linda. Transporting myself to somewhere far from everyday life is a definite appeal. Thanks for commenting. 😉
Kilts, the brogue, swords…what’s not to like?
Right? I agree.
I love highlanders because they gave me back the joy of reading historical Romance. I read some awful ones and had given up on them. One day I found a copy of ‘The Bride’ by Julie Garwood in a used bookstore, something about the blurb drew me and I fell in love with Scotland all over again. Julie G. restored my belief in good Romantic Heroes and strong Heroines in HR.
My little secret- I haven’t read ‘The Bride’, but I think I may have to now. Thanks Inga.
I like the brawn of the highlander. Also his brogue. It intrigues me how a manly man can wear a skirt and think nothing of it.
Joye that’s a perfectly valid point. In ways wearing a kilt makes them stronger then other men.
Love that they are so strong & brave. Oh & the accent. & the kilt.
Accents are definitely a weak point for me. 😉
Love their ruggedness and burrs.
I love Scotland–the castles and lochs, the kilts and accents. Of course I love reading about highlanders.
The environment is definitely part of the appeal. I’d love to go to Scotland sometime and see the places I’ve only seen photographs of. Thanks lsureader!
I love Highlanders for their strength, loyalty to friends and family, and especially their accent. Thanks for bringing this book to us!
I love a strong, sexy Laird 😉
I’ve got one of those! 😀 Thanks for stopping by Amanda!
Love a good love story starring a sexy Scot–and to get three in one. Bonus!
I’m glad that appeals to you. It’s definitely something I had fun writing. Thanks Nancy!
Congrats on your release, my dear!! It sounds super sexy. I hope you sell a ton of copies!!1
Thanks Bev! And thank you for hosting me!
the accent
I love the kilts, the brogue, and their rugged good looks. 😀
Sexy, wild Scottish men in kilts! Looks like a good read!
What a great tease. Can’t wait to read it.
It sounds so good! I like highlanders because they have a great accent, their loyalty and their pride and arrogance(though sometimes this can get annoying if it’s not done well) 🙂
Sounds like a hot story! What do I like about highlanders? Two words: Jamie Frasier
I’ve been hearing that name a lot Karen. 😀
Hot! Hot! Hot! I absolutely love highlanders!
Sounds good!! Love highlanders!!
Love their accents, loyalty and kindness that lies underneath!!
Landra is a new author for me, and this sounds like a sexy wonderful book. Can’t wait to read it!
I like Highlanders because of their loyalty, accents, pride, and kilts.
