A Hitman novella
There was a time when Nick loved the fear he instilled in his enemies. His tattoos alone promised danger, but it was the look in his eyes that delivered on it. A contract killer since he was just a boy, Nick has now forged a new life—and a new identity—with the woman who followed him, captured him, and changed him.
He terrified Daisy. Once. But she couldn’t resist, and she ignored every warning. It paid off. Now she’s part of a new beginning, a fresh start in America helping him to leave behind a reckless and violent past as a professional killer. But the past is never easy to outrun, especially when so much of it thrives on revenge.
A new threat has emerged from the shadows, and now Nick and Daisy have no choice but to rely on Nick’s killer skills to protect them from everything they’ve tried so hard to escape.
Other books in The Hitman series:
Nikolai and Daisy are back. It is great to catch up with the two after their HEA. Nikolai is still possessive and crazy about Daisy. They are trying to put together a new life now that Nikolai is no longer a hit man. They are both attending school to start a future together but life is not as easy for the couple as they had originally hoped.
Daisy is struggling to make friends and have a social life when she is stuck by Nikolai’s side 24/7. She wants to live a normal life with her fiancé but Nikolai is anything but normal. Despite the fact that Nikolai is no longer a hit man, his old habits to protect his love ones are hard to push aside. He goes to great lengths to continue to stalk Daisy, screen the people who try to come in contact with her and maintain a normal life for her.
A new threat emerges in their life and Nikolai springs into action. Man, I would hate to get hurt by him. I love that he even lets the police know he won’t play games with them either if he feels they are a threat. Crazy!!! Got to love him.
One of the things that I really enjoyed in the first book was the heat and passion between Nikolai and Daisy. I’m sorry to say that it was overkill in this book. There’s too much sex going on. The book is already short so I would prefer one or two really steamy scenes so that the focus could be on the couple growing and facing a new danger. The mystery and danger is overshadowed by the constant sex scenes.
Overall, I’m still pleased to get a peek into my favorite couple of the series. I look forward to more books.
