Being in San Francisco for only two weeks doesn’t leave much time for romance but Kel is very intrigued by Ivy. Things heat up and it is not from all the spicy food she prepares.
Have you ever loved an author books and then suddenly stop reading them? Just to pick back up a book years later and wonder why you had stopped reading them in the first place. The author caters to all your needs in a book. They evoke the feels and get you all excited. Well that was me as I read Wrapped Up In You. I kept wondering why I stopped reading one of my go to authors when I know they can deliver. Now I’m kicking myself because Jill Shalvis reminds me of what romance really is.
Ivy is such a strong character. She has been through so much and she is still standing. She doesn’t stay down at all. I loved that about her. She is cold at times and untrusting. Who wouldn’t be after her all that she has experienced in life. The author doesn’t make her a total jerk either. She softens her up when needs be. Kel is such the perfect guy for her.
I liked that Kel moved at a steady pace. He observed Ivy and didn’t push her when she threw up the barriers. Instead, he sideswiped them and kept moving forward. Kel also had his share of painful memories from his mother’s abandoning him and his sister. He struggles to repair his relationships with his family.
The confessions of love moved very quickly which is expected because Kel and Ivy both have a lot of other issues to deal with. There is a lot packed in two weeks for these two. There is a bit of danger and secrecy entwined in the romance but given Ivy’s family situation that is to be anticipated. Besides, who doesn’t like a big strong guy to come to the rescue? All in a day’s work in romancelandia.
This is a story of family and forgiveness. It is a complete stand alone as I didn’t read any books in the series and I was not lost. I look forward to going back to read the previous stories and any future ones.
