Review ❤️ A Favor for a Favor by Helena Hunting

When I joined Seattle’s NHL expansion team, I thought it was the start of something great. But nothing ever goes the way you expect. Take my introduction to my new neighbor. She came rolling in on the hot mess express at midnight, making a racket while she tried to get into my team captain’s apartment. Did I mention that he’s married to a woman who definitely was not her?

Imagine my surprise when I end up with an injury that has me out of the game for weeks, and she’s the one to offer to help me. I should probably add that she’s not the captain’s mistress. She’s his sexy, pastel-haired younger sister.

So we come up with an arrangement: she rehabs me so that I can get back on the ice sooner, and she can add a professional athlete that isn’t her brother to her client list. Seems simple enough. As long as I can keep my hands to myself and my hormones in check.

Stevie is Rook’s (A Lie for A Lie) baby sister. She needs a place to stay after walking in on her boyfriend having sex with another woman. It is not just so simple to kick him out since they now work at the same place. So off to her brother’s place she goes where she has an interesting run in with one of his teammates.

Bishop is busy taking care of his brother and finding his place on the team. The new neighbor next door is not the distraction he wants to deal with at the moment. When he suffers an incident that leaves him out of the game, he is desperate to get back on the ice. Despite their initial tension, Stevie offers to help Bishop out. Stevie needs a recommendation from another athlete outside of her brother. He needs to get back in the game. They fight to death but there is no denying the chemistry and craziness of these two.

Of course, there is so much more to this story than humor. I know this is a spin-off of the Pucked series but it has such a different vibe and feel. I love every book so far. Bishop has a lot to deal with his brother and his sports. I really liked that the author didn’t give him the playboy vibes. He is more focused than most players. There is a realness to his situation than just sexy athlete next door.

Stevie is very sassy and is perfect for Bishop. I just hated how immature she came across at times. I think her relationship with her brother showed it most. She hated being known as his kid sister but he is older. He is a famous hockey player. There really is no way around it. So her making it a big deal was not dealt with properly.

I’m not a fan of slow burn romances unless they are done right. This one was perfection. I mean this is like having your favorite ice cream after a good meal kind of perfection. There is just enough parts of humor, angst, being a jerk and sexiness to just make me gush. I like that they didn’t just run into each other arms. By the end, I was a panting mess. I want more of these two.
