Cassandra Ravel is feeling anxious now that her twin sister, Pandora, has gotten married. She was the twin that always wanted to be married so why hasn’t it happened to her yet. No one is piquing her interest until she meets Tom Severin.
Tom Severin is wealthy, handsome and intelligent. He is almost like a black sheep of society. He goes to social events to maintain relationships with some of the wealthy but they haven’t taken to him as he is more self made. He hasn’t really taken to the social norms. He is eccentric and odd to say the least. I kept wondering if he was on the spectrum.
Tom and Cassandra’s relationship is more of a slow burn compared to the other couples in this series. Tom has to really convince Cassandra that he wants her but she thinks that he is not capable of the emotions required to be a husband. He states he only has five emotions and love is not one of them.
They have some of the best banter in the entire series. I actually found them to be amazing together. While this book is not as sexy as the other, it is so sensual. The contract scene is the perfect example. I loved it!!! So good. I read it more than once . When the real negotiations started, I found myself too tickled by them.
Outside of their relationship, Tom has to convince West and Devon that he really wants Cassandra. Devon is so adamant about keeping his friend away from her. I couldn’t even understand why they didn’t think Tom was suitable when they caught them together so many times. It was great to see peeks of the other characters from the previous books.
The story is well written as usual and a sweet romance of two opposites who find out that they belong together.
